What is the fastest star in Dire Dire Docks? I think someone should test how fast you can get the Chests In The Current star. It's the one where you need to open up those chests in the starting place.

Wow, You allways seem to amaze me! ;) I really liked the second star in CCM (the Wall Kick Will Do or something like that). Also the Bowser level was even better than before, and I was already really stunned in the first version of it. I think you should give a try to Weatherton's idea.

When you make your way from the key door to LLL, instead of going straight, right, door, right, left, straight. Try going left and long-jumping up that slick incline (with the blue glass above it), go through that door, quick left, door, straight/right and then LLL.
It may prove to be worth. You could also try to go to Hazy Maze Cave this way and from there to Lethal Lava Land (or can you get the star from the mushroomguy then, or do you need more stars for that?) Anyways, keep up the good work. I can't wait to see this as a full run.

If you didn't know, you can also open .7z files with WinRar. Just open up your WinRar, go to Options->Settings->Integration and check the 7-Zip from there. (Atleast this is how it's in v3.50. In previous versions it might be a bit different.)

I got Shinryuu's TAS (from Shinryuu himself) and uploaded it so that everyone can see it. I must say I'm pretty impressed on his work. Although I could spot out few places which could have been done faster. Anyways, you can get the .fcm from here.

To watch .mkv, I use K-Lite and FFDshow codecs and BSPlayer to watch it. (I'm using Windows XP)

I got a few questions though: Why does Bowser's face show from the get-go in the portrait that is supposed to look like Peach? Is it the emulator's fault? IIRC, Peach is supposed to fade into Bowser. Also, how come the background for the Bomb-omb Battlefield portrait room look very dark, and quickly change to light as soon as you enter the portrait? Is it the AVI's fault, or the emulator's fault?
For the Peach-Bowser question: I noticed the same thing while watching the run with the emulator. I'm pretty sure it's because of the plugins. Since atleast I didn't have the exact same video plugin as spezzafer when he made the TAS.

Okey, I just checked and Bag of Magic Food was right. The only dragon type pokemons are Dratini, Dragonair & Dragonite. Plus also Kindra (evolved form of Searda) but you can't find that in RBY, only in GSC. And what comes to Gyarados, it's Water/Flying. I must admit that flying part kinda surprised me.

Shouldn't it be easy (with Squirtle) to beat Gyaradoses with Ice Beam, since dragons are weak against ice? Or is Gyarados Water type pokemon?

Here is the movie: http://www.people.virginia.edu/~avw6s/random/Mario64_TAS.wmv I did this using hypercam, hence the low quality and jitteriness... btw, my computer is a dual-core AMD Athlon64 X2 and X800 videocard... so the low quality is due to hypercam sucking, not my comp...
You should try Camtasia. It's very good recording program. Atleast comparet to HyperCam. And btw, thx for making .wmv of the run so it's easier to watch it :)

ehm... how can you speedrun Pokemon Stadium? Isn't it just a fancy "expansion" for the Pokemons in Game Boy?

Oh that was just so amazing! The Bowser levels were the best! :) I did notice few mistakes but they were so minor that I don't care about them so much. (For example in Dire Dire Docks you should swim streight to the cave in the beginning, not just down and then to the cave.) I know this is just a testrun but I seriously think you should submit this. (I really hope you do.)

Wow, you really painted those? They look very nice. How about trying one with a bit bigger resolutin so that it's not so "cornery" (yes i know, nice word :D) Don't get me wrong. I'm really amazed that you could paint those, but I'd like to see one nintendo character that's painted very smoothly.

oh man, I really REALLY loved your Bowser level. That was just so fabulous! I must watch it again ;) The first star in Hazy Maze Cave was also very nice. I can't wait to see more of your work.

I tried the new fixed version of yours, nitsuja. But I'm afraid I have to tell you that didn't work either. :( It looked just fine and even "started" playbacking the moviefile, but as if the moviefile was completely empty. And it even didn't inform me about the wrong plugins, which I know for sure that they were wrong. Here's a pic of the DebugView. I hope you can find something useful from it.

you can't playback .m64 s with old_mupen64.exe. It only accepts .rec s. And what where can i get that debugview.dll so that I could give you the information you require?

I just checked and the old version seems to playback the movies just fine wether the rom was loaded with GUI or 'Load ROM...'

Very promising. It so entertaining that I was hoping to see a 120 star run from spezzafer :) Although, I do have to point out that the less coins you get, the more time you save. That's because after the levelthe coins roll in the counter and the less you have the less it takes time. I think that in the Sliding level (don't know the actual name) you can avoid few coins. But since this is just a testrun it doesn't matter (atleast to me).

I also had some problems with the new version.. The loading of the rom seems to work just perfectlys as does the recording, BUT when I try to playback the moviefile mupen64 crashes. :( It doesn't matter if I start the rom from the GUI or from the File->Load ROM... In both cases it crashes. Although not the same way. When I load the rom from GUI and click 'Start Movie Playback...' it craches immediately. But when I load the rom from 'Load ROM...' it opens up the 'Play Movie' windowd when i choose the moviefile with 'Browse...' it crashes. I didn't have this problem with the previous version. Althou' I only loaded the rom with the QUI so I don't know how the 'Load ROM...' worked then.

Yep, I'm voting for Raph and Leo if you're going to make 2-player run (which I prefer more). If you choose to do 1-player run, then pick either one. And...HEY, did nitsuja also TMNT2 run? Anyways, I'd like you to do 2-player run since there is already 1-player run and some change wouldn't be bad.

Atleast I would be intersted to see a new run of TMNT2. I say Go for it! I think 2-player run would be more entertaining, and that's why I myself would like to see 2-player run more than 1-player. Althou' new (and improved) 1-player run sounds also nice.

So, which Pokemon next? G/S/C? ;) If you really were going to make G/S/C run I could help you a lot since I have just played through Crystal (almost 100%).

2) Regardless of whether it saves time after Bill's house or not, I actually use Teleport twice more to get back to Cerulean from Vermilion, saving anywhere between 45 seconds to a minute each time. So yes, it was definitely worth it.
Oh, yeah. You can't do those with Dig could you.

1) I don't teach Fissure to Blastoise, as to learn it I'd have to overwrite something irreplaceable and vital to the run (Ice Beam or Dig). You can't overwrite moves learned by HM, otherwise I'd definitely have done that.
Why is Dig irreplaceable? Is it because Fissure has 5 PP and Dig 10? Both of them are ground type attack so that can't be it. And btw, why Blue? Is there some specific reason for this or did you just choose one?
