This might be extremely boring for those, who have not played the game but for those who have even tried it this will be wery pleasurable. I loved watching how you beat (almost) every opponent to a pulp in just a couple rounds, while at the same time remembering how much hard time I had myself when playing through the game.
A 'yes' vote from me.

Hi there!
I just reasently started TASing with SNES, but soon bumped into a desync problem. i'm using snes9x-1.43-rerecording-v17-win32 and every once in a
while when I load a savestate, it somehow skips one or two frames when I continue from that point with frame advance. Actually, I think the problem is in the saving because every time I save at some specific frame and load that, the frame after load gets "desynched".
Here is a pic to show my problem: http://koti.mbnet.fi/maza-/pics/snes9x-v17-desync.png
So basically sometimes when I load a save it skips one frame and after few the game returns to normal and it looks like it is recording a-okay. The problem is that this one frame skip causes desyng in playback - of course.
So does anyone know what is wrong or what I am doing wrong? I would greatly appreciate any help, so that I could continue TASing.

Beside the obvious fast speed, the run was very entertaining. Somehow your "playing" style was very fun to watch. I mean _a lot_ more fun than the agerage TASes submited here.
Voted "yes". Thanks for the great experience!

Looks good for a beginner. The most obvious mistakes i noticed where in the boss fight. You didn't hit him immediately after the invulnerability ended (that was visible even when watching with normal speed).
Another thing was that you stopped one time to shoot a spider's nest. I'm quite sure you can get pats it without slowing down.
If I recall correct, i think it saves frame or two when you move dash-jumping, not just plain dashing.

Fast and entertaining. I especially liked those fast boss kills with those multi-hits. The only time I was bored was in the beginning where you had to autoscroll with the giant armor, but of course that cannot be affected.

Wow! Once again there is a run in progress that is absolutely must-see when it's done.
I sure would like to know what emulator he is using and with what kind of rerecording upgrades.

Wow! Fantastic luck manipulation you got there, arkiandruski. Makes me wanna play through AoS once again and bang my head against the wall trying to get some specific soul or item :).
I'll be looking forward for more "lucky-lucky" Soma. So no pressure, but do HURRY UP! :P

I also agree not using any special characters or spaces in the file names. As Bisqwit said, it's easier to use the files without them. But couldn't _ be used in the file names? (in fact it might already be in some)
Here are my suggestions:
darkwingduck-tas-v4-ans,randil
darkwingduck_tas_2007-08-24_ans,randil
Although it would be nice to have the category in those, which needs it. For example:
rockmanandforte-100cd-tas-v2-parrto14green.
For those that don't have any special category, I'd leave it out. Like this:
rockmanandforte-tas-v1-gigafrost

1. FF VII (PSX) - The plot is outstanding. It's vague enough for another playthrough right after you have beaten it once, while still being clear enough to follow it.
2. FF V (GBA) - The plot is rather basic/cliché but battles, leveling, skills etc. are just so wonderful. I'd suggest the GBA version because there is a little more to do.
3. FF X (PS2) - I don't really know why I think so highly of this one :P. Probably the new leveling system and all the sidequests where you can get some über items to help you along the way. And I guess the plot is also quite nice.
I could probably talk about Final Fantasies hours after hours so I'd better try to stop here before I find myself writing a novel about them in this post :P.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you have any questions or something regarding FFs, feel free to msg me.
I agree with you. The Digimon part sounds so lame, but if you are at all interested in turn based RPG, you should try it.

Looks as frame-perfect as usual :P. Always a pleasure to watch your runs.
By the way, have you thought about using Item 1 in Flashman stage? Could it be more beneficial than using Item 3 in Heatman stage? What I'm suggesting is that if you switch the bossorder from flash-heat-air... to heat-flash-air... Though i have a vague feeling that someone has tried it.

It's fast.
It's entertaining.
It has some interesting glitches.
It has my yes vote.
I'd like to encode an avi of it but I don't have that blargg update in my fceu. Guess someone else must do it :/
PS. Why isn't there a 100% run of Chip 'n Dale? ;)

Wow! I honestly didn't believe it was possible to finish this game under 6 and ½ minutes, even with TASing capabilities.
The run kept me entertained the whole and most of the time I was able to follow where emu was skating. A very nice N64 add to TASvideos' archive, if you ask me.

I was just about to say that the musics in this game are very good but doesn't seem to fit with the game at all :D
The movie itself was very precise and kept me entertained most of the time.
It's a shame the game is black'n'white. It reduces the entertainment value pretty much.
Anyways, a yes vote for me (even though it has already been accepted).
I'll encode this tomorrow so we can get it published ;).

Like SXL said, with VirtualDub (remember to enable 'Display input video' with F9) or with some player as good as BSPlayer, which can show the time as frames.
EDIT:
Or you could go File -> Open File -> Use A Subtitles File and Browse.
Or you can drag'n'drop the subtitle file into VLC Player.

I finished and updated the subtitles for the ffvwip-world1end.avi. It can be found in the same url, here.
Once samurai goroh advances far enough and releases a WIP, I'll encode it into an avi, sync the current subtitles with that one and continue subbing from there.
Thanks for all the "thanks"s :). If you have any suggestions how to improve it, let me know. Samurai goroh already mentioned that i should have added more subtitles explaining the storyline, but I made this only to clear up the TAS part of it. So I won't be translating floor numbers, people's lines or something like that.

*bump*
Hi, samurai goroh!
Are you still working with this run? I'd really like to see this finished after so many people has been giving more or less for it (Mostly you and Boco). Plus, if there ever is going to be a TAS of the GBA version, it would be nice to compare this to it ;).
EDIT: For a little inspiration, here's the updated subtitles I have been making for the ffvwip-world1end.avi. I haven't been working with it for quite some time, but if you are continuing this run, I could finish the subtitles.

Well, it does matter a little because you lose time in the star appearance. And you must always watch the red coins' star appearance, so it would make sense to aim collecting that star.

I was (or rather am) a little curious about that too. Is it really worth it to pick up so many items and read through what you just got.
FractalFusion, could you tell us how much time it actually saved in your Yellow run and what other advantages and/or disadvantages did it have?

Ow, my head hurts :D
When you began this project, I was sure it would take years to complete it, if you even could complete it. But here we are with a fantastic demonstration how insane TASing can be :).
As people have already suggested, in my opinion too, this should be published as concept demo.

Here's a thought for a new TAS: Catch Raikou, Suicune or Entei. They're all at level 40, and can be luck-manipulated, so it would be a good headstart compared to Graveler at level 25ish.
The problem is that they can only be found (in the grasses) after you have woken them up in Ecruteak City.

I have no idea what there happened (mainly because I have never played the game myself) :D. Still, it looked interesting and would look good next to already published Tetrisphere :P
