Will you use glitches to save time? Or is it a normal run?

It looks like he's using glitches.

Nice WIP, arkiandruski. Looking forward to seeing a TASer take apart Legion since he usually gets skipped in pure-speed TASes.
I like watching TASes.

Wow! Fantastic luck manipulation you got there, arkiandruski. Makes me wanna play through AoS once again and bang my head against the wall trying to get some specific soul or item :). I'll be looking forward for more "lucky-lucky" Soma. So no pressure, but do HURRY UP! :P
Which run should I encode next? :)

Yeah. I'll do that once I get around to it. I actually managed to get a Great Armor soul without almost no delay. The solution, oddly enough, involved using a cat. Also funny, I move faster than the cat.

You let your cat do the luck manipulation?

Yay! Finally a new WIP from me! -> Klick <- Some notes: 1. Yeah, I did a bad job getting combat knife, but this is best I could do. 2. I got Skeleton soul. Accidentally. Well, it makes the run smoother. 3. To make up for the combat knife, I was able to get catoblepas' soul without delay. 4. Great Armor got totally raped. I used catoblepas not only to attack faster but also for some extra damage. And I got his soul qiuckly, too.

Damn fine run up to this point, Great Armour rape was extraordinarily awesome. I really hope that you finish it this time, an improvement to Atmas run is long overdue.

Awesome Great Armor fight! I'll vote Yes just for this! BTW, people say that I may have some secret projects on this game, since I knew that 1 game can have more than 3 movies. ;)

Good to know. Thanks! Best of all, since I have now finished the first part of the game, motivation floats back to me. I actually think that AoS deserves more than 3 or 4 movies. There should also be a Julius and a Soma boss rush, and maybe even a Julius mode 100% run Oo

Many games deserve more than 3-4 runs, a great ecamle is this one that can have many very different and entertaining runs. Sadly it seems unlikey that it will happen in the close future :(

Yrr, that armor fight is sweet... One minor suggestion for the WIP: it looks as though you are turbo-ing through the dialog, dropping frames occasionally. Very entertaining, regardless!

I thought somebody would mention this sooner or later. No, the dialogs are optimal. You are right, I use auto-fire a lot. Mainly I test it on an even frame and then on an odd frame, this works in most cases.

As I learned in Harmony of Dissonance, turbo A is still not the best way to go through text, no matter if you do it on an even or odd frame. It's hard to describe, but sometimes one character has more than one text box, and it takes 3-4 different presses of A on varying frames to get through each paragraph, where turbo would lose 2-3 frames. It might take 5 frames for the first paragraph to go through, then 4 frames for the next, then 6 for the next, then 3, etc. etc. Trust me, with rerecords and such you have the ability to make something as simple as texts optimal, and turbo text really is only the way to go when two different buttons have the exact same effect, such as A or B, so that you can spam and A and B every other frame so that every frame has input that can make the dialogue go. Oh, and the WIP was good. I'm a little undecided about more runs of the game, I really want to see Soma's all soul run finished, but tacking on soma boss rush, julius boss rush, and julius 100% would make the number of categories be 6. I would find it unfair if games like this and super lameoid are allowed to have this many categories, but so very often other games are denied it. It should be either all allowed or none allowed, and if some games aren't allowed more categories than it already has, why should this?

Well of course that would not work, some games, we can take Super Metroid as an example as you brought it up, have very good reasons for multiple runs. 100% low% and any% all delivers a thuroughly different route and overall differen experience (although letting my run get a 4th category was perhaps too much for some, I don't really see why it would hurt anyone) so not letting it have at least those categories would just hurt people that are interesting in seeing them. But just because some games have a reason for multiple runs doesn't mean every game has a reason for it. If every game would be alowed for example 3 categories that would just lead to pointless runs with arbitrary goals of games that you can't really finish in more than one way. Also Super Metroid is not lame >:(

The thing is though that there are many other games that have more possible categories, but are denied it. It's nice and all that Sm and AoS get all these categories, but it feels unjust when other games get categories that are rejected when every single new superflous category is added forAoS and SM. Hence why I have the "all or bust" pedagogue for this particular issue. If SM and AoS get more categories than are needed, then other games should too.

If one person has been banned, this is unjust to the everyone else who hasn't. I say we either ban everyone, or no-one.

That's completely different, someone who gets banned would be for a good reason, like breaking the forum rules. I'm also just referring to this particular issue, not on a global scale.

Well I agree that there are probably other games that would do good with more than 3 categories.

I never agreed with the three-movies-per-game limit, but it doesn't automatically mean every game has to have more movies now. It's not enriching the site's content when a game that has one boring movie instead has several, or a game that has one movie gets another that is 90% identical to the previous.
