Good job! Improving Lolo must be hard since it's up to frames to make it faster. I'm quite amazed that you could improve it 14 seconds (correct me if I'm wrong). Voting YES.

Very nice! I've been waiting for an actual 2-player run for quite a while, but I didn't know someone was really making one. As IdeaMagnate said, the usage of those balloons was fabulous. Also the boss battles were "things of beauty", quoting IdeaMagnate again. Also the bonus stages between levels were very entertaining. Voting YES of course! I'm quite sure that this will get published.

Wow, a definite YES vote from me! I was truely entertained of the way you solved Cerualean and Vermilion Cities. That was something I definitely didn't expect. I Also liked the way you used Teleport (& Dig) so much in other places as well. It was also fun to se how little you used the services of Pokemon Center. :) But there are also few complaints/questions I'd like to bring out to open. First: I think you shouldn't have caught Onxi and just simply teach Fissure to Blastoise (Over Dig). Although the PPs of Fissure are quite low (5) so that might be the reason why you didn't. Second: Are you absolutely sure that catching Abra is faster than walking down from Bill's house? Since you don't need Abra's teleport after that because your Wartortle knows Dig. Anyways, you gotta give a hand to Tilus for having the energy of doing no-damage run. I definitely couldn't have done that my self. Not to mention all the trouble he must have gone through palning the fastest routes.

It has been a while since last post but now I have something to you finally. Anubis is finally a pile of dust. After this there is the very boring walk to home with the injured soldier. Any ideas how I could entertain you while returning to base? I'd be happy to hear any suggestions how to make as good entertainment as possible to you.

I scanned the Victory Road map but I didn't translate them because I think there isn't anything important on the texts. And it's the map Tilus wanted. If you really want me to translate them, just ask me. EDIT: fixed the link

I fixed the Pokemon Mansion map quite a lot and here is the new version. I fixed the dropplace arrows. There was a typo and the numbers were reversed (checked my self. thx for Bisqwit for sending me his saves). I also marked where you drop from the arrows and marked the other doors which will be there when you push a switch. For those who didn't know, when you press any switch, the doors in the mansion will be switched so that every door that was open will be closed and visa versa. I still kept the older map if someone wanted to see that (for some weird reason), but I'll most likely take it away after a while. EDIT: fixed the link

Here is the map of Pokemon Mansion. I might reduce the size of the picture so if you wan't to have a bigger picture, save this one to your hardrive. I'll make the map of the Victory Road some other day (tomorrow or day after that) since I'm kinda exhausted and I believe Tilus won't need it so fast. (If you do, inform me and I'll make it tomorrow.) EDIT: fixed the link

I asume Abandoned Mansion is the one in Cinnabar Island? Btw, I presume you aren't finnish so I'll have to translate the texts for you. Am I correct? (Although it would be polite to translate them anyway since I know for sure that some of the readers aren't finnish) EDIT: I just noticed that the walkthough doesn't include pictures of Saffron Gym. It only tells you to beat up everyone you meet until you find Sabrina. But that obviously isn't the way in TASes. The Mansion in Cinnabar Island and the Victory Road I do can scan for you.

Would you like me to scan more of the walkthrough I have (which is very thorough)? It could help or atleast ease a bit your TASmaking.

An alternative to pounding the pole is to grab the little bomb guy walking around and use his explosion to push you through the gate itself. ... 1) it's not that hard, 2) it saves about 10 seconds of cinema-watching
I believe it could be possible since you are able to go through the door in the basement with the yellow bunny (I've done that with the real console). But it would be extremely difficult since the bob-omb would be moving. Athough with the TAScapability, I believe it's possible. This would look really nice in complete run so I hope everyone who is interested in/thinking of making TAS of Mario 64 keeps this in mind.

Okey, now that I've seen spezzafer's testrun, I see that my run is a very crappy enve for testrun :) It was so good that if you haven't seen my run yet, dont bother. Just watch spezzafer's run. I really hope spezzafer will make a whole run some day (hopefully as soon as possible ;) ). Please, do it for us! ;P

Here's my very short testrun of Mario 64. It should end in Bom-Omb mountain to the health hearth (+ some fooling around). I used Super Mario 64 (U) [!].v64 rom and following plugins in it (in case they matter): Video: Direct64 v0.5.03.25 Input: N-Rage`s Direct-Input8 1.60 Sound: Azimer's HLE Audio v0.56 WIP 1 RSP: Hacktarux/Azimer hle rsp plugin I made this testrun because I wanted to see (and show you) how good you could make the jumps, turns etc. Of course this isn't even nearly as perfect as it can be made. And yes, I know you can get up the white slope and use the teleporters to cut some time. The reason why it's so damn short is because I had some problems with the emulator (as you should expect from very first version), but I must admit that nitsuja has done a very good job with the emulator and I haven't even tested the new version yet. Another reason for the shortness is that I'm currently working on MegamanZero1 (GBA) and I don't want/intend to waste too much time on testing this, unless nitsuja really wants me to help him finding some bugs or things that should be improved. (so nitsuja, just contact me if you want me to try more of this fabulous emulator of yours.) After I'm done with the MMZ run, I might try more some goofing around with N64 TASing but that will take a lot of time.

Maybe your keyboard is different than mine? - speeds it down, = speeds it up, and shift = resets to 100. You're not using the number pad, right?
The speed down is in - button (both numbad & the -/_ buttons) and the speed up button which rises the speed to 100% is in + button (both numbad & the +/?/\ buttons). I don't know of any other speedcontrolling buttons but these. I tried the buttons you told, but = and shift doesn't do anything.

3) I'd like to have the Save State and Load State buttons somewhere closer than in the "F buttons". It would be nice if you could configure them yourself.
I was wondering, is there a good default location for those that's better than F5/F7? I don't normally use that type of setup and I don't know what people normally use, when they put it on the keyboard that is.
I don't know what would be good default locations for Save and Load, propably F1 (as save) and F3 (as load). But I'd still prefer to set them myself. I'd put them to F and G of F and V or something like that. But you can't but those there since many of TASers wouldn't propably be happy if they found Save & Load in there since it could mess up their configurations. I'd also like to know how you are supposed to continue the run after restart since I have continued the run few times and once in a while it haven't been recording the game and you can guess how much that pisses me off.

I redid the small testrun with Mario 64 and now it recorded it just fine. So I assume I made some dumb mistake when i started the recording. For Gorash: I had the Raw Input unchecked when I tried the recording. One thing I'd like to nitsuja do something about and that is the resuming of the recording. I wasn't sure at all if it was recording or not when I booted the emulator. I just had to count on that it did and it seamed to work although I couldn't verify it anywhere. Few other things that I'd like to point out are: 1) I believe nitsuja told a while ago that you could speed up with Tab (like in other rerecording emulators). When i press Tab, nothing happens.. 2) Would it be possible to get the speed up button (+) to work like speed down button(-)? So that it would speed up 10% (or 5%) at a time. Not right back up to 100% with single press. 3) I'd like to have the Save State and Load State buttons somewhere closer than in the "F buttons". It would be nice if you could configure them yourself. I'll upload my testrun to somewhere under N64 Games (most likely in Mario 64 topic), when i have done i bit more than enter the first level and do few jumps ;)

I did a (very) small testrun on Mario 64, but when i tried to watch it (by clicking Start Movie Playback...), it started playing the movie but as if I haven't pressed a single key. So it seamed that the moviefile was completely empty. While I was makein the run it seamed to work just fine with the loading etc. but it just didn't record it. I'm currently blaming this on human error on my part since it's kinda late and I might have done something wrong while recording it. I'll give it a new try tomorrow to check if I did somekind of stupid mistake while recording. I just though to inform this if there happened to be something wrong with the emulator and not me (which I currently doubt a lot).

okey, now that nitsuja has cleared how the rom should be opened, the emulator seem to work just fine. Can i get the emulator to show a Frame Counter and Input Display or does it even have these tools yet? The Frame Couinter isnät so important (to me) but Input Display would be really nice. As soon as I find (U) version of Mario 64, I'll be doing a small testrun of it. This really messed up my MegamanZero runmaking since I'm so eager to try 3D TASing. I blame you nitsuja if i don't get to finnish my MMZ run! ...Just kidding ;)

Btw how do I use slow motion and is there a turbo mode so I don't have to spend as much time watching long introductions?
You can slow down & speed up with - & + buttons. When I tried it, I couldn't speed up more than the normal speed but the slowing down worked pretty well. You can slow down to 5% if I remember correctly. (100% is the normal speed.)

Okey, that was pretty fast test.. :D What ever I try, the emulator crashes when I click 'Start Movie Recording...'. I have a feeling that it's because of the user :) but I'd like to hear someone elses oppinions also. Or atleast tell me what I might have done wrong.

Oh, how stupid of me, not to find the record option when it's in so obvious place.. Thx spezzafer. When I tested the video plugins I used Super Mario 64 (E) (M3) [!].z64. With Direct64 v0.5.03.25 it looked just fine except all of the texts were upside down :D and with glN64 v0.4.1 and Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5 the text was unreadable. The only one which worked perfectly was Glide64 v.0.8 Wonder. I guess you need to check these with the rom you are gonna use. Now I have to do some testing. ;)

I'd be glad to test this emulator but where do i start recording? :D Anyways, the little testing i got to do without rerecording show that Glide64 v.0.8 Wonder is the only video plugin that seem to work properly (atleast with Mario 64). That's a plugin that comes with the actual emulator (atleast to my knowledge). But if you'd just share some info on how to use the rerecording, I'd like to try it more.

I'm also voting for YES (of course) Althou' I also spotted few spots which might have been done a bit faster but they were so minor that they don't matter to me. Maybe to Bisqwit and the others who publishes the runs, but I'm still pretty sure that this will be published (or atleast hope so)

Can Selfdestruct miss (withoit using Fly or Dig)? And btw Tilus, how much faster is your run now compared to your testrun?

You are quite correct, Gigafrost. I definitely won't be frame-advancing that part. It will be quite a pain to get that injured guy back to resistence base but hey, atleast i get to level up my sabre/gun at the same time :)
