Well, you could conscider my run as a testrun for anyone who is really a pro on making TASes. That's because I don't have the patince to make the run perfect to the frame, which you may have noticed in few points. Although when I get this completed I will submit it because there isn't a TAS of MegamanZero 1 yet. Actually most TASes I have done / began to do are from games which haven't been made TAS of yet. That's because I wan't to have TASes of some games and since there aren't any of those yet, I'll do them my self so that everyone else who'd also like to see those TASes (although they aren't 100% perfect) can see them. And while I do TAS of a game which hasn't been TASed yet, someone more pro than me could get interested as well of the game an make more perfect run and use my run as an example.

Once again, a little update on my run. I don't actually remember how far this reaches since I updated it while nesvideos was down. Anyways, I'm currently at Anubis (the boss in the desert). It may take a while to finish this boss since it's a bit annoying and I'm going to a small lanparty with my friend for the weekend. So don't expect any progressupdate before monday. (You may have noticed that I don't like much of doing bosses and I appologize if I complain too much about them once in a while :) )

Well, personally I like more of warpless run (which might effect in this) but since I'm quite busy now, I'm going to leave this open for a week and hope you're going to give me some good pointers which one I should choose.

A little update once again. Now I have beaten Aztec Falcon (or what ever his name is). Should I use the Escape Unit in the next few stages to skip them or should i go through them also? I personally think that going through them would make the run more interesting and it feels kinda stupid to skip so big part of the game. Well, any comments on this would be appriciated.

nitsuja, I didn't quite mean that, so lets try once time. In MegamanZero1, you can use primary weapon (sword) by pressing B and secondary weapon (gun) by pressing R+B. And I'd like to fire secondary weapon just by pressing one button. But I also need to use primary weapon. So I can't just simply put in the input R and B to same button, since then it will only fire secondary weapon. And those configures which can be found under Tools->Customize... doesn't allow you to put one button in two different function. So in Customize... -options you cant use one key twice. Any Ideas how I could use secondary weapon (R+B) and primary weapon (B) both just by simply having one button for each?

Well, for this example you can set L and R to the same button in the input config, then when you hit that button it should hit L+R. Also, you can assign hotkeys for auto-hold and auto-fire that line up with the actual keys used for the buttons (if using a keyboard for the buttons), and use those for things that consist of holding some buttons
That's a nice idea but since I'm playing MegamanZero 1, I need the configuration to the secondary weapon, R+B but i also need to use y primary weapon which is in B. So I can't put R and B to same button. And what come to the autohold/-fire hotkeys, You can assign only one button to those configurations. (For example if I put E to any autofire, I can't use E in any autohold. So you can't use same key twice in "Customize..." menu.)

I have one question which is kinda offtopic but I didn't want to start a new topic just for one minor question, so I'll just ask it here. :) Can I add some button configurations to VBA myself? I'd like to for example have L+R in one button so i didn't need to push them together. Can I ad this kind of buttoncombos somewhere?

I'm definitely voting YES!! Your run is so much faster than the already published one. I'm quite sure that this run will get published.

I didn't know you could beat up bosses that fast. I though you'd have to wait till the flashing stops. Thanks for this. And no, I haven't read the entire topic. I see that I should do it. :)

thanks for your feedback, McBAIN. Would you mind expalaining the so called slash-dash-slash tactic to me. It sounded so good that I'd be glad to give it a try once i know how to make it happen. :)

I continued my run a bit and now I'd like to hear your oppinions that should I stay for a while in the place where the movie stops and level up before continuing. It could be worh to stay and get one more level. Getting two more levels would make the run quite boring and that's why I'm not gaining three levels in there. But I'd really like to know your oppinions that should I get even one level there. I think I should. But the second level is very open for discusion. (I might continue my run after a week or so, so there is time :) )

Now that I got your movie working, it looks pretty nice, although it's not most entertaining movie i have seen. I loved the goals you made by making the goalkeeper to ignore the incoming ball (like goals 7 & 8) :D One thing that should make it a bit more entertaining is not to use always the lower right corner to do cornerkicks. Use the upper righ also. You could also try more of those header tricks which you used before the last score. Like bringing the ball from the other end of the field to the other just by using headers or something like that. Pretty nice nice movie but some points it got a bit boring. But I understand it's extremely hard to make a whole-time-entertaining movie of this game. I'll be waiting to see what you're going to invent to the second half of the match.

Are you sure the .fcm file is working how it's supposed to be workin? I used both (U) and (E) to watch your movie, but in the beginning Germany makes the first score and shortly afer that you pause the game and after a while you continue it, but it definitely looks like you didn't intend to do all of that what happens in the movie. I suggest that you check that if you can watch it yourself. I also had some problems with one of my runs so that it desynced (with the rom I used to make it!) in the beginning of the movie. And that's why i abandoned that project. But I do hope that you try to make it work (or tell me what i might have done wrong while trying to watch it) since it would be nice to see some "funruns" once in a while. :)

So now you say that I have to press Select too! This is really getting frustrating! :D (Beacuse I have already beaten the boss) And yes, I have also noticed the limitations of the keys which you can hold down simultaneously. There was small fight between me and VBA to get it register all of the buttons. :) I'm not sure if I'm going to even try to skip that intro any more. Just going forward and that's it! ;)

Skipping the Capcom intro was nice idea to make the run faster, but pressing A+B+L+R+S doesn't do anything. It just goes through the intro as nothing was pushed. I'm using 0589 - Megaman Zero (U).gba rom, if someone was wondering about that.

The first stage isn't so bad since it's not so long. But those BORING chit-chats people have before the actual game starts. That's the real pain in the ass! :) EDIT: fixed some typos

why couldn't you say something about the introskipping before!? I wouldn't want to redo the run again.

okey, now I have redone the first stage which looks much better than the testrun (atleast to me). I'll propably continue it today and beat the boss, but that's not completely sure yet.
