Oh, that Megaman 1 sure is buggy! :D But couldn't you use the pause trik to kill Elecman just like the first boss is killed in the published movies? Isn't that fast enough or what?

Is it possible to see that movie yet? Even though it's not completed, I'd really like to see it.

I did a little compareing with my Megaman and Bass runs and I'm already ~1000 frames faster with Bass and I'm pretty sure the gap will get bigger because of Bass' dash and double jump (which I might have mentioned before ;) ). I hope you'd give me some criticism about the Tengu Man stage with Megaman so that I'd knew how to make it more entertaining and faster.

Now that I have had some free time, I've been makeing my MM&B run with Bass. Now i have just cleared Ground Man stage and I'll most likel continue Tengu Man tomorrow. If anyone hases any good ideas of how to make the beginning of tenguman atleast a bit entertaining, I hope you give me some pointers. Or was my run with Megaman in there entertaining enough? Just give me something! ;) Here's the .vbm file: http://koti.mbnet.fi/maza-/Speedrun/Megaman&Bass-Bass_-_Maza.vbm As you may have noticed, I changed the name of the moviefile.

I made a map for all of you of how to get Earthquake (TM26). You can find it here: http://koti.mbnet.fi/maza-/pics/Pokemon_-_Earthquake.jpg I'm pretty sure you'll need to fight that Rocket on that corner (like Tilus said). So it would take some time to beat him. Plus the detour to the TM would also take some time. (I might remove the map from there after few days so don't come yelling me that the link doesn't work :) ) EDIT: fixed the link

I finished the Burner Man stage today and as I promised here's the .vbm of it: http://koti.mbnet.fi/maza-/Speedrun/Megaman_&_Bass_-_Bass.vbm I'm currently ~200 frames behind my Megaman run (because those Green Devil & Cold Man fights took so long) but I believe it will change. Maybe even in the Pirate Man stage. But I'm not sure though since Megaman can slide nicely through one part where Bass needs to go over it. Plus it will really help Bass to be able to jump the long ladders up which Pirate Man stage hases (thx to Gigafrost for this ;) ).

Thanks for these tips Gigafrost. I'll try to keep them in mind. Especially the jumping in ladders. I'm currently in Burner Man's stage where a those flying bombdroppers which flames up the whole ground (those annoying bastards! ;) ). I won't update my work to you yet. Not until I'm in the end of a stage or I have beaten a boss.

The item which allows you to climb ladders faster is Bass-olny, sorry KennyMan666 ;)

No there is not a single-button dash in GBA version. That makes this a bit harder than with snes. I'm not sure if i understod correctly you point about the Ice Wall though. Did you mean that when you make an Ice Wall you can jump on top of it and jump again before it falls down (which i have done in my Megaman run by the way :) ) or did you mean that when Ice Wall is formed inside a wall (where it shatters shatters immediately), there i a small chance jump from it? Anyways, I don't believe that you would need the latter one anywhere especially with Bass.

Since i got finished the run with Megaman, I have started makeing one with Bass to make a companion to the one with Megaman :). Although I don't intend to complete it even nearly as fast as with Megaman since I'm quite busy with my school etc. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the game will be faster with Bass even though the two first bosses (Green Devil & Cold Man) are quite a pain in ass since Bass does so little damage with his gun. I haven't watched my run yet myself but here it is for you: http://koti.mbnet.fi/maza-/Speedrun/Megaman_&_Bass_-_Bass.vbm Feel free to give any comments to me (except if you are going to complain how boring those Bossfights are ;) )

I'd like to see a run of Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Although it may get a bit boring in time to time. But still, I'd love to see how fast it can be done and recall the whole game since it has been ages since I last played it :) I could propably maybe if I had enough time, do a run of it but i'm really not so interested in luckmanipulation so i wouldn't make every hit critical, find the correct pokemon on the first try, etc. so i don't think people would be so interested enough of it to get it published..

KennyMan666, you are incorrect. There isn't such item for Megaman which allows him to slide faster. But Bass do have an item which increases his boost speed. The only item that may be worth buying for Megaman (in my oppinion) is the one which allows him to charge up his Megabuster faster. This would propably help in the final bosses, but how much? that's not for sure. But Bass, he has lot's of items which could help in speedrun. Faster dash, Faster ladderclimbing, maybe the Morph with Treble and also maybe one of his shooting skills (shots goes through walls for example).

I also voted No for the same reasons as Baxter. The run should be made in the same mode/difficulty as the previous one to obsolete the older one. Or it has to be done _way_ much better/faster/entertainier/etc. than the previous one so that it maybe get published to company the older one (which was made in the difficultiest mode).

I didn't know Lego Star Wars being on GBA... If it really is, and i could find that rom somewhere, I could consider makeing a TAS of it.

You'd need to return to some levels after going through them once... And you'd also need to reset the system to be able to play with the other character (since you cant get every CD with just one), so you'd end up playing the game through twice in one speedrun. So i don't think it would be anything special to watch.

Bass looks like moving faster because he does, atleast when he's jumping ;) since bass can boost and jump while keepping up the good speed (except in the doublejump), while Megaman can only slide to go faster.

I just got inspired and made a testrun with Bass. And now I'm starting to think it would be faster with Bass ;) even though the boost doesn't come along to the second jump (A+A). Anyways, I uploaded it for everyone to see why i think it could be faster. Here's the link: http://koti.mbnet.fi/maza-/MegaMan_&_Bass_-_Bass.vbm

I'd guess Megaman because of his charged megabuster and he can slide under obstacles which will take more time to jump over. Although Bass can jumb while boosting so that gives him also a good advantage. Only makeing a TAS will tell ;)

I was thinking to start makeing TAS of Megaman & Bass with Bass, but since this isn't likely to be published, I'm really not sure that should i start it. Because there are only few places which I can do faster than in this run. Plus I'm quite busy with my school right now... :(

So now it is finally done. You can check it out in the Workbench (and vote of course) ;) I'd prefer to get any comment you wanna make of it in the Workbench topic if that's not too much to ask.

Before I start makeing this (if no one else already haven't), could someone tell me what all these options are?: Battle Scene: On/Off Battle Style: Set/Shift Menu Account: On/Off I'm not completely sure but i think at least one of these effects the speed of game. So these must be triplechecked before TASing.

Is someone makeing this TAS yet? Since I just finished my Megaman & Bass TAS and would like to start a new one. I though to make TAS of Pokemon Crystal but if someone is already makeing it, I won't bother. I'm not so much interested in planing ahead so I would take few hints here and start it right away. I'm also not a big fan of luckmanipulation so unless someone tells me a easy way to avoid any unnecessary random battles, I would be happy to hear. Otherwise the run will most likely get quite long. :)
