The SDC cannot be used on Split Mushroom because he takes damage only one time from first slash before the seconde one, after that it is available again to hit him with the first slash. So SSDC is the fastest way.
Even if the seconde slash can give more damage on the wall, it still slower because you have to wait some frames and then do a seconde slash while you can do more SDC in those frames. About the ugly face, It should be from the last battle, I will see about it later.
I will test both of these two strats later and then come with improvement if possible, probably tomorrow, I'm busy from yesterday, sorry.

I'm also confused about the branch of this run, since it forces warp glitches rather than a normal route like in the current. I left the branch field blank to mean that this is an any% run; but I don't know what the judger will say about that. If this will a "warp glitch" run, then I will make a normal any% as well as a 100% with the glasses glitch, if not, I will only make a new 100% run with warping and glasses glitches.

I made 3 encodes of this run:
-An HD stream for YouTube
-A 512kb stream
-10bit encode
In subtitle, I put the time shown in the submission and the fps is at 60, and that makes difference between the time shown in the subtitle and the time in the encode in order to note that there was a conversion in fps to make it more accurate.
Edit: Uploaded HD stream to YouTube. Check submission again.

If you remember, Rolanmen1, on 2013 I PMed you for the purpose of auto-holding in PCSX, because in that time, I wanted to use PSXJin instead of PCSX since it supports auto-hold function but due to the problem mentioned above, I droped PSXJin and was sticking with PCSX and trying to find a way to auto-holding or at least hold multiple buttons at the same time

I know that and also that the current Any% run uses PSXJin. I also tried to run the game with it but I had big problem that happens to usually while playing is that PSXJin, at a certain unknown time, it starts lagging every other frame which causes huge frame loss, but if I want to fix it I have to change some inputs, that as well costs a lot of frames, that's why I like to use PCSX more than PSXJin since that problem is not present and only some specific frames are lags which can be controlled and doesn't depend on the gameplay. I already asked for solution to that on PSX emulator forum on 2013 but no one responded.
Now, both of them will be obsolete, thanks to BizHawk that handles PSX perfectly.
P.S: Is this run will end up to be accepted or not?

It's all about the luck that you would get before entering the room, you may get a star but after a long time that is enough to beat the boss or get it stright before and save time. I also tried that in many places but I get only fruits or nothing.
For octopus, it needs few seconds so there is no need I think.
EDIT: You are right after all. I need to manipulate the stars in many fights such as the rock boss or walrus mini boss. I probably going to do the run again and try to make it near to 15 or below 16min. I think shooting bones changes RNG but I'm not sure, though I'm goona find a way to do so however it's going to take more time to make all over again.
Btw, the star effect remains only like 11 sec so bosses that needs more than that time to be available for damaging from the time where I get the star except the time needed for the game to do some actions timed out-game will not be killed with the star effect such as the last mini boss
EDIT 2: As I said in the beginning of the post, it takes a lot of seconds to manipulate the stars that are enough to take down the boss so there is no need to stars, TESTED, I also enjoy watching fights with bosses instead of just killing them instantly.

It would be good but if the only character used is X instead of Zero even if it is going to rescue Zero in a revisit. But I'm not sure if it is going to be accepted since it uses cheat code to get Ultimate X.

Sorry if I didn't answer it in the right time.
Well, it could be damageless but it is going to waste some time, so instead, taking damage was a good choice to save it, that's why I wrote in the objectives "Saving time by taking damage"

Normally Ariel needs to shot two bubbles to freeze fishes and this treasure gives more power to Ariel's bubbles and reduce that number from two to one, and that saves great amount of time.

Thank you so much for giving me another subject to search about: Uncountable nouns. I will learn more about it. And now I will re-encode the run again with good spelling, also I have to correct the game name from"Little Mermaid" to "Disney's The Little Mermaid" which I didn't take care about.

EDIT: On top of that, the encode doesn't end properly. You end it shortly after the second loop starts, when it should end at the exact moment the first loop ends (~1s difference).
EDIT: Now everything is good, check the encode again.

This old run is one of my very first runs I had done, it is so terrible and uses cheats. In that time, 2011, I was only a 14 year old boy that plays for enjoyment only and don't care about the rules of runs that must be submitted on the site as well as having a very destroyed english that he cannot even write good sentences to explain something or post in forums or even understand most of the text since english was his 3rd language at this time and he don't care about it. TASing was something super wonderful for me and it still so far. Thanks to everyone who supporting me and still all the time.
In 2011 I couldn't explain that like I'm doing now but that what I would say 5 years ago.
This is just a small thing about me, not related to the run.

Yes voted, it looks very optimized to my eyes and it's entertaining to watch.
About the Any% topic, I understand that this is very similar, but im not sure why pick Any% in favor of 100%. From the viewer perspective, I would rather watch this over the Any% because of the extra content it has.
In the other hand, McBobX, you should've submitted this way more sooner because now we have BizHawk (wich is way easier to TAS PSX games than PCSX and to encode). So not sure how the community will react to that. Nonetheless, loved watching your TAS and since you like to TAS for fun, I recommend you use BizHawk.
Definitely, I will start using BizHawk for PSX as you said since I also found that is easier to play and encode movies more than PCSX and PSXjin. I encoded the Rockman X3 All Stages done by Hetfield90 & nrg_zam and I didn't have problems unlike Castlevania SOTN on PSXjin or Megaman X6 on PCSX. Thank you

The only difference between "100%" and "any%" for Zero is simply him going a few steps out of his way in each stage to get useless upgrades that have no impact on later parts of the speedrun. The route is exactly the same, all boss fights are exactly the same, all movement is exactly the same outside of the small detours taken to get the extra items, etc..., so I can't see much justification for this run needing to be published alongside "Zero, any%" other than the fact that it meets vault criteria.
You are right but in the other side, Zero also has some items to collect and that what made me confused about submitting or not, so I tried and hopefully it gets accepted. Probably this will be a Vault since the only categories accepted fot vault is "any%" and "100%". But I did this TAS for fun after all.

You work pretty fast, great job guys. Yes vote from me.
Btw, I also planned to improve the current run, and you did it. So I will take another game to try, probably a Mega Man game.
I'm happy for you for completing this run.

The author is entering and exiting in his speech. He wants us to vote No. WHAT THE HECK IS HE SAYING?. I'm voting yes because I want to do that and to be in contrast with TASeditor.

I really didn't expect that the best ending category will take such a small time like 16min. I also made a wip for the normal ending and I predicted that the time will be 18:xx or something like that. Automatically yes vote.
Nice work Samsara.

McBobX, did you use a lua script that pauses avi recording during non-gameplay time?
Sorry for the late if I didn't quote instantly btw.
Yes I used a lua script and here are 2 scripts:
this one uses the pause function. Thanks to P.JBoy and amaurea for there codes.
Language: lua
pigf = -1
while true do
local igf = memory.readbyte(0x03000153)
if igf ~= pigf then avi.resume() else avi.pause() end
pigf = igf
emu.frameadvance()
end
this one uses avisynth that creates a long text that contains trims which will make the no cutscenes video. Thanks to natt for that code:
Language: lua
--[[
start this script at the same time as you playback the movie and dump the avi.
when finished, be sure to hit "stop" in the lua script window to ensure that the created file gets flushed
you'll have an "skip.avs" that will contain a set of Trim() commands that will create a cutsceneless encode
]]
local pigf = -1
local skipping = true
local startframe = 0
local outfile = io.open ("skip.avs", "w")
local firstsegment = true
-- remember to hit "stop" to ensure that the io file gets cleaned up correctly!
while true do
local igf = memory.readbyte(0x03000153) -- in game time counter
if igf ~= pigf then -- display this frame
if skipping then -- end skipping, so record start of new unskipped segment
startframe = avi.framecount()
skipping = false
end
else -- skip this frame
if not skipping then -- start skipping, so record finish of last unskipped segment
if avi.framecount () > 1 then -- avoid 1 frame edge case that causes avs problems
if firstsegment then
outfile:write (string.format (" c0.Trim (%i, %i)\n", startframe, avi.framecount () - 1))
firstsegment = false
else
outfile:write (string.format ("last + c0.Trim (%i, %i)\n", startframe, avi.framecount () - 1))
end
skipping = true
end
end
end
pigf = igf
emu.frameadvance()
end
Actually, I just took both scripts from the Metroid Fusion 100% by BioSpark and changed 0x0300013B to 0x03000153 that's all. I searched for an adress which changes only in gameplay and similar to the one used in Metroid Fusion. BioSpark is right.
I may re-encode the Low% MF by Dragonfangs without cutscenes.
