I double checked the items obtained through the dam and their chests all appeared opened when I went and visited them. That exact method does feel like a bit of a pandora's box though. Can you clarify the exact reasons why the arrow capacity and bomb capacity upgrades are not collected? Why exactly they are considered different from other items? I know they are tedious to max out, but aside from that is there any other reasoning?

Also if you wish to completely redo the run, I'd recommend cancelling this submission and making a new one.

There's likely a more optimal pattern to it than what I found, I just wanted to get the general gist across.

Found a trick in this game fairly quickly: Link to video by letting go of the run button at key points you can move faster than simply holding it the entire time. Lua: User movie #51910010557814257

Well if the author is working on an improvement themselves I won't bother :)

Loved the glitches used in the Future stage now, nice work.

Looks decently paced but gameplay doesn't seem to be anything thrilling otherwise. Meh vote.

Please try to not change the firmware settings so much in the future, it is definitely annoying. EDIT: Watched the run, it wasn't too special, voted no. Didn't seem like the Warps tag was really necessary though, it more refers to things like Super Mario Bros. style warps that allow you to skip stages rather than quick travel methods as seen in this game. Not sure on the "heavy glitch abuse" tag though.

So there is an improvement in the Future stage unrelated to jump height? Am I understanding correctly?

Mostly you are right, as I know, Hetfield90 and soig always made tas so quickly, and beat the recode. Though I agree making tas shoud be slowly.
Definitely agree with there being exceptions out there.

Personally wasn't the biggest fan of this TAS. While how fast the bosses died was neat, the TAS felt fairly repetitive. Definitely felt well made but doesn't seem all that interesting. No vote.

Fixing the second zip wasn't hard, all you needed were a couple more frames of holding left before the last slide before the zip. Possibly improvable but there was no real reason to resort to reverting back to coolkid's publication up to this point. EDIT: Forgot to link userfile: User movie #51819915972412617

I just realized one of the places where your high jump felt really slow was the Future level, which was done after the Harbor Level. Even if you break even up through Harbor, you should be able to save time on future easily.

This is TASing. Not RTA. You do not work from scratch. You look at what other people have done and can take inputs from them if needed. Not looking around at what others have done is lazy and bad research.

Ergo, this should be published. If Memory et al believe that they can improve this movie, I encourage them to actually put in the work and roll up their sleeves and do just that. Since of course, anyone can improve a WIP.
Challenge accepted.

probably because some people choose to work on tases on their own, and splicing the inputs may not always work if the game isnt hex friendly. It's also imo very shitty to take someone's inputs without first asking for permission from the original author first. The author of the WIP not being active is a whole different story.
imo this is a non-reason, in this case the WIP is abandoned.

The fact that more than one person can improve WIPs just makes my case stronger. Why hasn't the WIP been completed yet if everyone can work on the WIP? Answer, because that takes work and people have other priorities. We've had frame wars before.
because that takes work
We encourage people to put that work into their TASes.

Once again we have the same bullshit rule come up in another submission. The problem is the rule, not the submissions. The rule that if an existing publication is slower than a portion of an unfinished WIP needs to be scrapped. As it is, good movies that are improvements on existing movies should be published and let the WIPs replace them if they are ever finished. Yes vote from me.
They're not good movies if they are beaten by WIPs.

Eh, I only felt this movie was "ok" rather than spectacular. The invisible glitch stuff was kinda neat but only kinda. The zip stuff was cool but there wasn't really much of it. Aside from the glitches, the gameplay wasn't anything special. Meh vote.
