That + You can use Gmail with POP3 with a program called "Pop goes the Gmail". http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1088397932/1 So you get a gig of space that you can use with outlook or whatever pop3 email client. And you can access it anywhere! Gmail is neat, which is why I want it! :)

Hey I'm looking for a Gmail invite! If someone would be so kind as to throw one to lil' ol' me. I'd be very happy and I'd also put up a banner promoting your site or your favorite site on all the sites that I administer. www.neopolitanmusic.com www.hughesdriveproductions.com www.bigcatreggae.com None of them are exactly high traffic, but its the best I can offer. Thanks!

I'd certainly share the DVD iso, thats a great idea. Whats the best way for me to go about it? Maybe we can convince bisqwit to allow me to produce a collection of vids every so often? I'd be happy to do it. Of course the iso would be like 4.7GB or just under it. I'd send it out postal... but I'd have to charge something like $3 for the disc and shipping. No profit or anything, just so I'm not in the red for it...

Oh definitely. I watch all the vids on my TV-OUT and they look good. Transcoding to DVD would make it good still.

I want to produce a dvd with menus and stuff to show my friends and to have for myself. Its completely not for profit and will never be. I just want an easy way to show some excellent vids off. I'm just looking for any opinions/thoughts on this and if any speedrunner requests that their video is not on it I will of course respect that. I know there was a post about some guy trying to make a dvd for profit awhile back, but I re-iterate, this is completely not for profit.

Video game music inspires my entire musical career actually. Alot of it is really good. In particular theres a composer by the name of Rob Hubbard who was a programmer and the musical coordinator for a number of games. He was the guy who did the music for Skate or Die. Its music was revolutionary at the time because it was the first video game to use a real guitar sample for the guitar solo. His technical knowledge and musical proficency allowed him to create it. He also wrote music (amazingly good music) for a game on commodore 64 called Auf Wiedersehen Monty. Damn good music my friends. http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/tcworh/rh_aufw.htm http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/tcworh/

Naw, I did heat man too but it didn't turn out good at all. I do have MULE though. Which is a game I loved so much when I was younger playing on my Atari 800! http://www.neopolitanmusic.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Zina&op=modload&file=index&l=8&p=Stuff%20Mike%20Made/Atari%20800%20-%20MULE.mp3&m=1

I go to www.vgmusic.com and take midifiles to make ringtones for my cell phone and for friend's cell phones. But yeah, the music in video games is just great in a lot of cases. Example (I don't personally know much about it) Final Fantasy must be incredibly good because they often have full on orchestrial concerts of it. The first one in the new Disney concert hall in the LA area sold out before it was even in the box office (online preorder). I've never played any final fantasy game, but thats impressive enough. In high school my drumline did some songs from duke nukem for its wgi show. I took the midi file and gave it to our instructor who mutated it into a piece suitable for that kind of music. Blah blah.. video game music is good. I have a tiny collection of it too. (Mega man and sonic)

Yeah the Faerie Walnut in SoM is 1000gp in the earliest part of the game and I think its price drops by a lot but its still expensive later. The sprite's mana draining spell comes into the game once you get luna's magic (or might might be the dark guy?) and thats quite deep into the game. And yeah you can only carry 4 of any kind of item at a time.

I guess Mario RPG would be a much more appropriate candidate for a speed run for sure. Although, I'd gladly sit and watch SoM for entertainment just like I'd watch Zelda 64 or any very long 'run'.

Secret of Mana was definitely my most favorite RPG of all time released on any console system. That is of course if you don't count any Zelda game, in my opinion, only the second second Zelda could be considered a RPG. I just never latched on to any Final Fantasy game and I never played chrono trigger. Oh the good ol days with the multitap and three friends playing secret of mana, good times... good times. I wonder how long a speed run would take... freaking forever I'm sure!
