Thank you very much, Bisqwit. I'm going to be reading quite a few tutorials tonight. :X

I've got the Linux version of SNES9x. I double click to run, and nothing happens. I extracted it to /home/Emulators/Snes9x-1.43/ Was this the right thing to do? I'm fairly new to Linux, so any help would be appreciated. Yes, this is the Binary, not the source. :X

You really need to finish this, Cal. When I watched this run I was completely impressed by what you'd done. Seeing a completion of this game would be satisfying, as it's a pretty hard game. The cave level wasn't THAT slow, it guess it just wasn't optimal. That level is HARD.

I'll make sure to do that. Also, I've found some warps that warp you from section to section thus shortening the time that it takes you to complete each level.

Oh. ... I look like quite an idiot, I completely failed to see that movie. I may be able to beat this time, though, I'll check the movie out.

I'll be running this old NES game, mostly because it's rather obscure, and that it's never been run before* thus opening the chance for many others to give it a go. I'm half-way through the game currently. Glitches/Bugs/etc: To tell the truth, I can't find any, so I'm going to use only slow-downs and save states. The main problem with the game is that you can't adjust how high you jump, you press A and you've got a set jump path. The only real adjustment is speed and direction (unless you have the skateboard, in which case you can only slow down to about 3 or 5 px a second). Another problem is the skateboard, it doesn't stop, so unless you're in a fairly simple area, I'd say just ditch the board and keep running instead. Usually this speeds up the game and you don't have to stop so often. The only extremely mundane part is the boss, which is a guy that walks pretty far to the left, throws a fireball or two and goes to the right and repeats. This may be done by either tomorrow or Sunday, I'm not entirely sure. Pausing doesn't seem to affect the game at all, so any tricks involving that are out. There are also no level warps, so I'm going to have to do every single level thus making this run fairly long. __ Feel free to discuss the game. * Bad prior knowledge, ignore this. Now this topic is about discussion of the game and improving the run

Yeah, I was asking for hotkeys to be able to work on the joypad. If it's not too much trouble could you make it so I can assign them and have them work? I'd be very, very grateful. I searched around for a while looking for answers and this is the only topic I found regarding this issue. Thanks!

Can we please get this put in? I'd like to make movies with SNES9x because I can actually figure it out with SNES9x. ZSNES allows you to map hotkeys to the controller and they work, but there's terrible video support on ZSNES. If it's too much work, you don't have to do it, but I'd like to see it implimented. Sorry for the bump, but I didn't want to make a new thread for this one issue when there's already an existing one.
