Great run, great improvement. I noticed lots of clever little ways in which the previous run got improved, Bowser's castle seemed to have the largest improvement. So yes vote in all these aspects. However, I do firmly object to runs being published this quickly. EDIT:

what, no 90,000 rerecord count? what gives? no seriously, will watch later tonight.
Incase you're wondering why there isn't some super high re-record rate. Its usually because when people do team TASes, much of the rerecords get lost through passing WIPs around.

About the deku stick/slingshot strat when skipping the owl, it doesn't matter what timing you use as long you equip the slingshot, delay for 3 frames and then equip the deku stick.

Voting yes, I suspect Comicalflop is working on an improvement as we speak...

I own Ocarina of time 3 times Import gold cartridge OoT/MQ disk on Gc Collecters edition on Gc I did used to have the v1.2 European cartridge so I don't know if that counts and I could technically own another copy if I was to download the Wii version. Edit: I think Acryte owns a lot of copies of the game, not exactly sure how many but he likes to own several versions of the game so he multiple save slots.

Its safe to say that its better have a run published within a couple of hours rather than a couple of years.

Why is there even an option to vote no/meh to submissions like these...

I was planning on doing a run in the distant future had an improvement not been submitted by the year 2010, but I'm pleased it came early and that the improvement was closer to a second, rather than frames that I could count on one hand. Voting yes because the runs an improvement over the existing one.

I try to put an emphasis on making progress through the game i.e. get to this point by the day or week. Sometimes I fall behind schedule because there might be a bit that causes more problems that I expected to, I usually get round this by putting in a little more work the next week in order to get to where I wanted to. All this applies with the exception of my recent SM64 run since we knew all the improvements and had a few small ideas of our own. Easy I thought, 7-10 days of very hard work will get this finished. So I thought if I spend an average of 4 hours a day I'll easilly get this finished. Apart from the newer stuff was considerably more difficult to implement and optimize that I thought, heck we even redid areas just because one of us wasn't quite sasified with the camera angles, since I was under the impression that this might be the definitive run, in the end it probaly took more like 33-35 days. So what I thought would take 30-40 hours ended up taking 130-140 hours. So when you consider that there is about 5 mins of gameplay, do the the maths

Hm, just wondering, that zipping glitch with the moving platform in SBZ2, why do you have to wait a whole movement cycle of that thing before you can do the glitch, is it not possible to do that when you arrive?
I beleve all moving obstacles are predeterminded in the same way at start of each level.

<1 million :-p Although I take it you need to do it in Co-op mode in order to exceed a million?

Would it be daring to request an avi with the speedometer/camhack/stuff included? Might make an interesting watch :)
A camhack might be interesting, speedometer isn't as exciting as it sounds unfourtunaltey. Unless it can be convertered to look more like a speedo seen commonly in cars, but then we'd need 2 since Y-speed need to be taken into account as well.

I was surprised that there was still further refinement in GH1. Good job on getting a 31 in SB1. Its hard to think much in the way of new glitches popping up. Only LB1+3 would be benificial to find new zips. Speaking of the Labyrinth zones 1+2 refuse to beleve that they can't be improved further I might go and test some things on these stages. Yes vote for unexpected improvements and optimizations.

A couple of spots looked improvable, like on stage 2, where it is lagging from how many badguys are on the screen, and you defeat them all individually instead of calling in a special to kill them all at once.
I tested the police attack and it was 4 seconds slower, I was expecting the lag to be much worse throughout the game, but the only other area which really lagged was the start of level 5, but in both situations I was able to get a huge multikill. About stage 8, in Chemist's WIP he gets really lucky with the Garcia at the start of the level, we even hexed in what he did and it didn't work, but I know his WIP is improvable since our movements were much better at the start of the level, if only we can stop him from attacking Blaze. We tried many variations, but there was no other choice other than to toss him away. I think the screenshot should come from either levels 2,3 or 4 since they all have the best backgrounds. Here's my suggestion

How much faster do you think it will be than the old run?
Well, I'm hoping for at least a minute; when the Lobby is finished, it'll paint a much clearer picture of what to expect. I don't want to make too big an estimate, and be disappointed later on...better to underestimate than the other way around.
I've bolded the crucial statement to show what people might have overlooked, I have and idea myself as to what might be the eventual time but I don't want to be disappointed later on...

The reason why everyone thought backwalking was the fastest movement in the game was because all the tests were done as AL. EDIT: OK, I just tested it over a long stretch in Hyrule and found it to be 3 seconds quicker compared to sidehopping.

The only thing I felt slightly out of place was committing suicide in stage 5... Was that necessary to manipulated the unseen enemies to fall into the pit as well?
I can explain that, basically the black whip lady has a lot of hp and goes onto the bottom of the screen but doesn't come out far enough in order to do anything to her. She then hovers at the bottom and works her way to the top and comes out then. Also the juggler doesn't come on until you defeat her so it was important to priortize her first over the other enemy. The most effective way was to fall into the pit on the frame the whip lady spawns so that she falls onto the screen and therefore enable me to throw her into the pit for a quick kill.

Therefore, I'll just put up the amount of stars done (possibly in the form of screenshots) once in a while, so those interested can know where the progress is at (if lots of people object to this, I'll skip it). The only reason I'd ever object to that would be that people who watch your WIP can give you ideas or suggestions of improvements before you've made another half hour of movie. You're one of the people skilled enough at optimizing this game that it doesn't really matter. Maybe a single early WIP after about 5 stars and then, when oyu're 2/3 in, a video of one or two impressive stars from anywhere in the video, on youtube, then nothing else till the full run is done, so we've only seen, for example, 7 stars but tehy weren't all in the first course.
Wouldn't it just be easier to upload at the end of each course?

BTW, I found a glitch on MZ1 which allows the level to be completed in 15 seconds and I'm pretty sure this level can't be improved. It required a bit of sub pixel position to get off screen jump to work which enabled me to glitch to the end. I borrowed the previous movie so I didn't have to do the first part of the level. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/627414404/Upthorn%26JXQ-S1v3.gmv

While the run is a massive improvement over the current movie, I don't think the new bits were optimized enough, espeacially the bit where you enter Scrap Brain 3. Also you've incorparated minor errors from the previous runs as well. I'm holding back my vote atm.

New trick which could save a little time, its called the super jump. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9JtMVTCnz18&NR=1 found by gamelinkx EDIT: This doesn't need to be done on a corner, just so long as the object can be hopped onto.

Quick update: Not to far to go, midway through level 6 at the moment, somehow managed to get through the hell hole known as level 5. ETA? Shouldn't be long, expect to see the run sometime during next week.
