I remember there was some complicated tie game situation in USA 94 where 4 teams had 4 points I think it involved Mexico, Republic of Ireland, Italy and Norway.

If Sweden and Germany win 1-0 tomorrow. Given three teams have 6 points with identical goal difference and goals scored. Which two teams will go through to the knockout stages?

Admittedly a silent No vote doesn't mean anything unless it's for reasons already stated in a particular thread. The volume of votes is generally representative of the interest in a particular run. It's especially useful when it's a surprising run whether it be because of the strategies used or because it's great TASing material of a game that isn't considered top tier in terms of popularity.

I enjoyed the movie so I voted yes. However, the category combined with the methods used is incredibly arbitrary. Firstly, why only the medallions? I know you get the Ruby from Dondongo's, but that's only so you can perform the wrong warp to the credits. You use bottle adventure to glitch most of the medallions to your inventory. Not to mention the wrong warp at the end.

With current knowledge it's not possible glitch past the rocks without the tiny sprites. The NPC doesn't push you in far enough when you're normal sized. The full game testrun already optimally plays up to Polizu village. It's more a case of having viewers subjected to a 20 minute intro. Also I thought this TAS was classed as a major skip TAS. The major skip is not the OoB clip at the start, but the rock clip after the first dungeon which amounts to skipping to the end of the game in the same sense the wrong warp glitch in Ocarina of Time does.

There is a 100% goal which involves collecting all of the games amulets, which gives you access to a sound test as well as outtakes. You could probably chuck in the health and magic jewel upgrades as well. The Tokyo Tower skip would definitely be used for that category. A "no map glitch" run would probably make the most sense.

I downloaded the Japanese rom and while I found the instant dash and swim skill glitch easy to do. I couldn't figure out how to do the infinite magic trick, which would save a lot of time on the bosses. I just found a way to glitch into the Tempting Cave, which would save a lot of time in Japanese version given how long the conversation with the village chief is.

I've only been able to make the half jump glitch work in certain cutscenes that involve your character moving around. None of the other glitches you mentioned work in the English version. Working Designs in their translation notes did mention that they fixed a lot of glitches as well as reduced the lag in many areas of the game. While the Japanese version would be faster in terms of gameplay. It will almost certainly be slower overall as a result of unskipable cutscenes and spoken dialogue.

All characters start at level 0 After the Forest of Silence all 3 jump to level 1 After Tempting Cave Hikaru's level increases by 1 After Bewildering Cave Fuu's level increases by 1 After Inferno Mansion Umi's level increases by 1 After Tree of Life Umi's level increases by 1 After Turtle Boss Fuu's level increases by 1 After Lair of Truth Hikaru's level increases by 1 (but for some reason doesn't in the TAS) I'm still trying to investigate why Hikaru's level never increased after Lair of Truth. If there is an easy fix to it, then I certainly wouldn't hesitate to submit an improved run. As for your second question, I'm not following what you're saying. You'll either have to clarify or link me to a video.

Could we please define what a full game run for this game would be?

Noticed one glaring flaw with that run, and that's the fact he hasn't properly assigned the run button. You can either assign it to hold like in the video; double tap or preferably one of the shoulder buttons. Mapping it the way he's done is bound to cost a minute or two over the course of the game.

Checked for games that haven't been mentioned, and here's the ones left that might be worth doing. I've left some out. Mainly because I believe they're best being done on other platforms. Albert Odyssey Baku Baku Animal Batman Forever: The Arcade Game Bug! Bug Too! Bubble Symphony Bulk Slash Dark Savior Deep Fear F1 Challenge Formula Karts Hang On GP Herc's Adventures Lode Runner Manx TT Mass Destruction Neketsu Oyako Ninpen Maru Shinrei Taroumaru Steep Slope Sliders Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Virtua Fighter 2 Warriors of Fate 2 Willy Wombat Winter Heat

I noticed that too with Innova moving off screen. However his movement is already predetermined after he's been hit. Same thing applies to Zagat.

Bosses have inconsistent invulnerability periods throughout the game. How they're determined I do not know.

It's not a case of finding the whole movie entertaining. Games of an RPG nature are inevitably going to be bogged down in text and cutscenes. It's more a case of did everything else provide enough value to offset that, and in this case. Did the Innova boss fight wreck your overall enjoyment of the movie, which in many peoples eyes that may be yes. I did briefly test to see if there is any way to skip Innova, and it's simply not happening. Even if you're able to glitch out of the fight. The game will force you into restarting again. Warping out of the cutscene before Innova transforms merely crashes the game. One way you can skip the fight is to glitch into the bookcase, as the flag for the cutscene is triggered only after beating Lair of Truth. I have no theories as to how glitching into the bookcase could be accomplished as you cannot levitate into it. Nor, can you glitch outside the room and walk behind the bookcase. So if it is possible it involves a method that's beyond my current comprehension. The best strategy would be to find a way to get the escudo upgrade for Hikaru to properly register. That way the boss battles would be cut in half. Edit: I tested skipping Innova last night, and the flag for triggering the Innova fight is talking to Precia. Glitching into the bookcase is not going to happen, as it requires a 13 pixel boost. You'd need some kind of corruption or warping glitch to get past it.

Fractalfusion here's some translation notes from the games manual that might interest you. Not to mention all the bs Working Designs had to put up with to get this game to market.

This was a full game test run I did of this game a month or so ago, and it came out to roughly 2:10. What you'll quickly notice is how long and drawn out the intro is. This is why at least from a viewers point of view an alternate run would be better off using the glitch in Tokyo tower, but pass up on getting into the Lair of Truth early.

I use a GameCube controller where Start = Autohold Z = Frame Advance L = QuickSave R =QuickLoad All the main buttons are mapped to the most commonly used buttons and anything that's less commonly used can be mapped to a keyboard.

Feos, I used to own this game. Here's the scans I used when I was selling it. You're wrong about the name of the game on the disc BTW. http://i68.tinypic.com/1znny9v.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/2cwmvma.jpg Http://i63.tinypic.com/282hlll.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/242wlrp.jpg

I unofficially have the RTA record for this game(had my recording not corrupted). I'm not sure it makes a particularly good TAS, as it's mostly an arrestafon.

Magic Knight Rayearth (J/U) - Really cool-looking action RPG. This one has a few RTA runs, so at least there's existing material to go off of
You're in luck, since I plan on working on this later in the year. It's linear, and the only planning involves knowing what potions to get. I know a few strats which aren't in the public sphere. Some of them, while viable for RTA, are very risky due to being game enders if not pulled off correctly.

I've been waiting for this TAS for many years and it was well worth the wait. I imagine encoding this is going to difficult to say the least.

There is bullet hell shooters, which look really hard, but with memorization you can beat them without dying. As the games have fixed patterns. However, a game like Radiant Silvergun has RNG and AI elements meaning you can't memorize your way through the game, which in my books makes it a true test of skill.
