I made an encode here.
Essentially what I do is set address 04E5 (page 2, slot 3 of EI) to value $D2, by taking the horseshoe and nothing else from the lab. By USE-ing $D2 from the wraith room, it jumps straight to the end event where you defeat the behemoth. Just as Randil predicted, it's an improvement about understanding the unknown codes in EI better and how the game handles them.
So, you literally require enough items so that when you go into the Lab, the Horseshoe will drop into Page 2, Slot 3.... and then you keep "TAKEing" Glasses in the Wraith room until it shows the screen with Globe, then push it to the next page, use option 3 and BOOM, game complete?
I wonder what other rooms will be able to trigger this, in case going forward a bit more may unveil a slightly faster room. I'd hate to think a few more options and a few rooms forward may yield a slightly faster result than all that backtracking.
But regardless, this is an absolutely PHENOMENAL find and makes me wonder if this will be possible in Deja Vu and Uninvited?

There's a new hack in town, from Obitus1, and dear God is it ever brutal! None of the insane tricks like wall jumping needed [That I have seen], but just plain outright skill and patience is required!
This is a really solid hack and just got a final release last night. Would love to see what this community can do with this!

Sub-Par looking hack, to be honest. The water music was nice... until it became Overworld music... then it got old fast. The World 8 music was awesome when sped up... but otherwise it was just annoying.
Decent enough play and some good tricks... but yeah... this hack does lack.
Sadly I had to vote an extremely weak Meh as there were some decent aspects... but not enough to make me feel it was a Yes.

Just one question, why do you need to go so far up the stairs to do the stair disalignment glitch? Wouldn't it be faster to do it lower on the stairs so you don't need to travel up and back down as far?
More so to this query, Is this genuinely faster then the speedrunning strats that involve going up, bumping through the ceiling and carrying on? This seemed to take an awful lot of time and the speedrunning strat almost faster.. but then I don't have a stop watch to verify.

WTF... I mean I've played and enjoyed bad games... but this was just... No. Not entertaining at all... I got ridiculously bored soon after Level 6 and only fast forwarded to the end to understand that screenshot... and it still makes no sense other than to have traumatized children for life.

Second level up animation is skipped around 3:35. Sadly, Simon won't gain EXP from hearts any more until he gets back to the left of the first town.
This run is 20 seconds faster than the concept TAS by the end of Rover Mansion. We will see how much faster it is than the currently published run by the entrance of Bodley Mansion. I hope it will be 1 minute faster than the current run and thus 10 minutes faster than Bisqwit's run.
Looking good. The only thing that was lacklustre was Zombie farming, but then again, considering this is a TAS and you had way more hearts then a normal speedrun has, it's not too unexpected. Kinda woulda been nice to see more varied patterns though.
Everything else looks really good, including that drop all the way to the bottom after the stake. Smooooooth Operator!

This wasn't too bad at all. A bit boring at first.. but it started to show off its charm. While it receives a yes vote from me... I am kinda hoping you'd be willing to do an All Victims Saved run next, using a lot of this information gathered. Made me get all nostalgic, and this shows how much there could be improved.
Otherwise, this wasn't too shabby a showing. Definitely got me dusting off my own cart.

I have no idea how or why this next part happened, but immediately after I cast PASSWALL, the game went directly to the ending! At first I thought the game crashed due to the seizure-like graphics, but it was the legit ending scene with the 'Hall of Fame' screen and all that. I ended up resetting and continuing, and didn't have that happen again on the 8th floor. It did happen to me one other time later on in the game, though.
No idea what causes this to happen. Just wanted to throw this out there to inform that there's something glitchy within the game's RNG which can cause a game-end glitch.
o.o;;
Wowsers.. I mean this game is RNG nightmare in a box of RNG nightmare... but to think it may be possible to end it like that? This means the game could be beaten around 10-12 mins depending on manipulation... and that's scary as fuck.
Hopefully now with all the info provided in my prior posts, and this potential, someone will be willing to give this a shot.
