Hello there, I'm new to the forum and have a question regarding SNES cores. I tried to find any information on the homepage but found nothing (if there is, please link it if you find anything).
I wonder what the difference is between Compatibility and Performance, besides that debugging tools work better with Compatibility.
I am not doing any TAS related stuff, just regular speedrunning, so I wonder if there would be any performance issues (like speed or fps or input delay) with Compatibility core instead of Performance.
The reason I'm wondering is because I want to run a practice ROM (ALttP) that only seems to work with the Compatibility core. Starting with Performance core makes nothing happen.

I'm using a modded version of the practice ROM. The original one ([MOD EDIT: Removed ROM link to patched ROM. --Mothrayas]) causes problem in the beginning when you try to create a new file. I was told this is because it tries to allocate a larger SRAM than what is normal, and the emulator can't handle this (works in Snes9X and bsnes). Is there any workaround for this ROM to work with BizHawk, like a setting that allows larger SRAM allocation? (This is the case for both cores with the original practice ROM.)
