I tried making a good post, but I suck at this… I can only say, Dooty you’re completely wrong and I hope that no DKR TAS will be published until it is correctly emulated …you should also consider that if emulation is ever corrected, a better TAS would still be minutes and minutes slower than the inaccurate emulation TAS, how do you go about doing obsoletion like that?
There is already a published TAS of this game and it was well received. A faster version would obsolete the current published TAS and there's nothing you can do about it. Also, you still haven't proved what those "emulation inaccuracies" are.

Please provide a WIP (a YouTube encode, for example) and we'll judge if it's worth it or not. ;D

Tentacles? I see where this is going... On-topic: I believe that this TAS is pretty boring (I've never played this game before). The only entertaining part was when you dodged saws and shit. I vote MEH.

As this isn't done on VBA-24m which is more accurate, can I request that this isn't published yet as I will redo it?
Sure. I'll just place this on "delayed".

- Some say it's boring, I personally think it isn't that bad to watch. There are other movies on the site that are similar speed platformers (some that have been published recently).
Could you please name those movies you're thinking of?

Alright, I'll bite here... This is a fantastic idea and it looks positively awesome. I absolutely cannot argue that the end results are anything but flawless. However... why not just encode videos at 20 FPS for games using 1-frame flicker? I use it for my personal game projects (where relevant) and they look just fine. Granted that some games use 1-frame and 2-frame flicker at the same time (Mega Man X3, Blast Hornet boss fight), but for the most part, it's less trouble all around.
I personnally think that the character's motion at 20FPS is just too choppy. Examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulz_uQVXUDk (24FPS) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ULV-FU7mco (TASBlended, 30FPS) You can easily noticed the blurred background in the second provided link. That's why this new flicker method shouldbe used since it allows us to get the best of both worlds.

I like the idea of Mothrayas and Nahoc becoming judges. Nahoc do you feel comfortable with judging Dolphin runs? One thing I know is that Nahoc is comfortable with Mupen, and N64 runs pile up from time to time as well, so he'd be welcome in that sense too.
Yes, I do feel comfortable with GCN/Wii and N64 and would be willing to judge those platforms at any time. On the other hand, I would never verify PSX and DS TASes.

I just feel like score is a little bit... weird. It's not like you MUST collect all the bananas and get the lowest time to max the score. You have to optimize your banana choice and combine it with a low time, which makes the TASing much more tedious for me. I wouldn't care much if both type of runs would be published on the site, though. I think they both have their highs and lows. Edit: currently on floor 10.

I volunteer. Of course my English is a bit poopy, but I would certainly ask for help if it becomes an issue.

I think it would, yes. I can only get .33 for now.

I'll be honest. E6 and E7 were incredibly awesome. The first three stages were... not. First off, it looks like you don't know about boosting, which is simply holding up-left or up-right at the beginning of a stage; this is the first video I found of B1, which is a pretty good example. Even so, they can still be improved a lot. The E1 record is 28.35, I don't know the best red goal time for E2 but I've personally gotten 26.40, and there is a much faster strat for suiciding on E5 (though that was still really slow for the strat you used). I'll try to provide videos for each of them later today. Also why are you using Aiai, Baby is clearly superior. :(
Thanks Miles. I've never played this game so I know nothing about it. Cosmo linked me to this page after I posted this testrun which should give me nice goals to beat. Can't wait to see your videos; they'll surely help me a lot!

bkDJ, Actually, I was talking about the messages that appear when you get the 1st, 3rd, 8th, 30th, 50th and 70th stars. I know that getting the 70th star out of a level (from Toad) does trigger the message about the staircase. What happens if I have 7 stars, get the 100 coin star and any other star in the same level, which puts me at 9 stars. Do I get a message after I leave the level? Can I get two stars at once to skip any of the messages about the castle?
You'll get the message after collecting the 100 coins star, IIRC. If you use a trick like this, you'll skip the message, but still get it on the next star you collect.
:U Is it possible to do this glitch in other stages?
Yes; TTC, TTM, WF...
