What ever happened to entertainment value? Lmao. This is a well respected category in the community with unique and interesting tech/route. What a silly blanket rule.
I agree with this. If it's entertaining. Then it should be published. No matter what. I also agree with arandomgametaser's point of view that cheats shouldn't be seen as an absolute no to publication. If the cheats made the movie very entertaining, it should be published. However, in this case, I felt it skipped too much of the game for it to be published. It's a too short movie. I'd be more inclined to like the movie with cheats if it featured more of the game (like 100%) and that it was longer. An example of movie that I would support could be a movie of the GC game The Simpsons hit and run with both speedy cheats being active and probably the jump car cheat active (and more?) while doing a lot of the game (perhaps all missions? or even 100%). In this specific case, I felt it was way too short. :(

Liked the movie, but that's because I TASed it before (and didn't submit because I found one mistake in the middle of the run, and that my TAS wasn,t exhaustive). Yes vote from me.

With the new video system, yellow cards should be given to people who faked their fall. Something like assistants telling to the main umpire that someone has faked it. That would be devastating and would encourage players to not fake it.

Did you hold the Y button at some point? It didn't seem you did. Also, Rambi isn't running faster than Donkey Kong in the first level? That surprised me. I would watch a full run of this honestly. I was entertained. :)

Finally someone does a TAS of this game. I did TAS this back then but made a silly mistake that destroyed my movie. Didn't bother redoing it. Will watch it when I can for sure. EDIT: Watched it, was entertained (though I'm biased). Didn't see any major flaws. Only one question: when getting the boots, did you try jumping instead of catching the rope? I know that jump is doable if you pull back then run.

Perhaps it needs a better name. But I still support this tag since it regroups goals that has a unusual goal such as , like you said. collect all rings/coins/etc - avoidance of acceleration glitches (only for some games) - avoidance of warp glitches (only for some games) - avoiding doors - avoiding killing enemies and avoiding picking up items (low% in terms people actually use) - some 100% runs but not all (???) - "completes 2+ games with the same input" So it's definitively not a useless tag. It's actually one of the tags I enjoy the most.

It just baffles me that OoT seems to be the only game in existence for which this is happening. Why OoT in particular?
You could say that majora's Mask too had this. Low% got published before an update to any% and apparently an update to the low% is already in progress. I was entertained by the movie. Thanks on making it! I hope to see more of your work.

[3506] N64 Paper Mario "All Cards" by Malleoz in 2:30:33.83 [3339] Genesis Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 "ring attack" by Evil_3D, WST & Zurggriff in 45:01.63 These needs the demo tag as well. And restating my opinion concerning these two movies: they should lose the demo tag. NES Hard Relay Mario (JPN/USA) in 08:14.95 by HappyLee. SNES Wario's Woods (USA v1.0) in 16:33.33 by DonamerDragon. Wario's woods is more about doing a mode of the game (Similar to the death race mode of F-zero X). Hard Relay Mario... Isn't that an "any%" movie?

I am not. I am expecting a big rant from the oot speedrunning community if the 100% is redefined to "all equipment, all skulltula tokens, all medaillon, all stones and all heart pieces". :)

Well, it is contradictory. It depends on how you see it. I too don't consider it 100% because it clones and doesn't get the original token or Heart piece. But that's the point of that "100% NSR" category. With that only, I'm not seeing this obsoleting a regular 100% like it's seperated in the oot community. The 100% NSR definition is "do whatever you need to see a complete pause menu". This include cloning a skulltula token and Heart piece and doing some shenagians. Since all heart pieces are the same, you could say you collect it by collecting a different heart piece. I just wanted to point out that it still collects something. It just doesn't collect the ones intended by the devs because a cloned piece or token was faster.

Even the current 100% doesn't collect everything (it skips some upgrades and jump straight to the last one). Not to mention it doesn't collect Maps and Compasses and Boss keys. (So when a 100% gets submitted here, I expect an endless debate concerning that) As to that alternative 100% definition.
If you just put an item into your menu but did not actually collect them, then you did not complete your objective.
It still does collect them. It just clones 1 skulltula or Heart pieces to obscene amount and collect all of them. But the original ones (that are slower to get than cloning) are still available to collect. Andypanther, I would think that both runs can be published, but it wouldn't share the same category and oe of them would get the demonstration tag. We could probably do a parallel with the pokemon runs: gotta catch em all and coop diploma are both 100%, but they both do it differently and are both entertaining..

Why no just tkeep small only? Same with all the others movies like walkathon. The details are already in the movie descriptions. Should be enough.

Forget me. What does random new guy visiting/joining the site, who knows little, need to know? He sees a bunch of runs, how does he know what he's looking at and how to differentiate between them?
You are indeed correct in the part that movies will need to be differenciated from others. However, I'm not saying to remove the entire label. I'm saying that some infos aren't that needed such as warpless in a walkathon movie. Unless there are two walkathon published side by side, which is not the case. If we take a look at all SMB runs, there is: Warpless Warps (I don't think we need that label that much, but it's not a big deal... Removing the warps label would reflect it's the any% like most of the movies on the site) Walkathon (This means this one is different form the others because it doesn't run. I wouldn't need to know if it's warpless or not unless there is an another movie published that is warpless... Which is not the case since it's obsoleted...) All items (This indicates it gets all items. So I already know it's not the same as any% or warps) Maximum coins... It,s pretty much self explanatory. Do you need to add warps in the category name? For the categories like walkathon or maximum coins, the tags like "Uses warps" is enough. Shouldn't need anything more complicated than that. We don't need all infos.

Do you really need to know that much info? I still stand by my opinion that some aren't that needed. The warpless walkathon could be only called walkathon. As a viewer, I wouldn't care if the run is warpless or not. I would care if it's a walkathon. Same goes with 96 exits. I wouldn't care as a viewer if a movie uses warps. I would care if it does 96 exits. *If* ther eis 2 movies that does 96 exits, or a walkathon (of the same game) now you're talking. But now there is only one. Concerning the walkathon: consider this scenario: Run A does a highscore that was thought to be the best that doesN't use any warps. Then Run B obsoletes run A by beating the score AND using a warp because of new tricks or something. Do you need to put "warp" in the run B label or you just keep "High score"? I say no. You only need to lknow that's a high score. Not High score AND warps.

Ohh that's perfect then. Thanks! I somehow thought one of them wasn't 100%. Glad we came up to an understanding. :)

[2653] GB Pokémon: Red Version "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" by MrWint in 1:54:56.62 This is 100%. [2467] N64 F-Zero X "Death Race" by Lord Tom in 00:29.55 This is secondary game mode. We will need a new tag for that. [2916] N64 Mario Party "Mini-Game Island" by Senshin Ichii in 36:11.00 Secondary game mode. [1713] Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog 3 "Competition" by nitsuja & mmarks in 02:01.05 Secondary game mode.
My bad for the 100%. Is "gotcha catch em all" also 100%? For the others, I don't think it needs a seperate tags, but as long as it gets a tag like you mentionned I'll be happy! :) From the rules:
This tag should not be used for non-speed-oriented runs such as maximum score runs or playarounds.
. I still think the other way should be true as well: Playaround shouldn't get the demo tag as well. It should be one or the others (unless the game has both somehow, like the SMB3 ace movie) Here the movies in question for simplicity: DS Brain age DS scribblenauts NES Super Mario Bros. 3 (USA PRG1) "arbitrary code execution" in 08:16.23 by Lord Tom. NES Tetris (USA) "playaround" in 02:17.36 by Baxter. SNES Family Feud (USA) "playaround" in 06:46.28 by Heisanevilgenius. SNES Mortal Kombat II (USA v1.0) "playaround" in 22:43.68 by Samhain-Grim. SNES Riddick Bowe Boxing (USA) "playaround" in 05:45.7 by laranja. SNES Super Mario World (USA) "arbitrary code execution" in 02:25.19 by Masterjun. (Although this one might be a special case, I understand this one getting the demonstration tag) For movies with ACE, I still think they should be removed since they already have the execute arbitrary codes tag GBC Pokémon: Yellow Version (USA/Europe) "arbitrary code execution" in 05:48.28 by MrWint. NES Super Mario Bros. 3 (USA PRG1) "arbitrary code execution" in 08:16.23 by Lord Tom. (special case that can keep it imo) Personally I think these two doesn't need the demo tag. NES Hard Relay Mario (JPN/USA) in 08:14.95 by HappyLee. SNES Wario's Woods (USA v1.0) in 16:33.33 by DonamerDragon.

You are being nitpicky for the walkathon in my opinion. in my eyes, Walkathon is perfectly fine even for the obsoleted one. The first one was published when it was thought that warpless wasn't possible. And it got obsoleted, but it's still a walkathon. It just got improved by pushing the boundaries.
