yeah i was REALLLLLY tired that day.... anyway, i couldn't find the hardware spec for your router ( Flash RAM ) but i suspect that it's simply not powerfull enough to support all your wireless trafic. windows 7 is far less "network friendly" than windows XP, it might be far more conssuming on your network than you think... also for now skype still use a P2P protocol to work, it's hitting hard on your network (but it should change with future versions ) to solve the problem try the following: - disable all the "memory conssuming features" like - the QOS - the trafic logging - the internal firewall ( you're on a local network, it's a big plus in your security - the mac filtering - wire your tv box and your playstation 3 if the router is close from those equipement, use a network cable, it's cheap and this will reduce the load on your wireless network - realy not safe, but lessen the encryption of your network, remember that every connection is encrypted and that your router has to calculate the encryption key pretty frequently.... in any case, wiring a maximum of equipement is a good solution, and if it's still not working as well as you hope, your can try a more expenssive router to see if it fits your needs.... as a bonus here are two headache inducing PDF on the wireless CPU consumption / security : http://www.ijcte.org/papers/054.pdf http://www.academia.edu/1501652/GPU_-_accelerated_WPA_PSK_cracking_solutions i hope that this will help you ! good luck !

short and sweet, but the combos in the "no ring out rounds" seems too short and the "one step" pauses break the pace... maybe can you do longer or more technical air juggle combos ?

why didn't you simply message an admin to change the username for you, i think it's possible ? (as double accounts are forbiden, it should be ? riiighht ? ) as for the site security, until it gets fixed, try to think of it as ridding a bike... it's fun, but it's safer to walk... especialy when ducks are involved

security is voided the moment you connect to the internet, you can't "network" without sharing and you can't corretly share with too much security.... your computer is not secured if it can be physicaly accessed by somebody else, your internet connection is not secured if someone can put a black hole on your node your passwords are not secured if there is a failsafe system the failsafe system is not secured because it is meant to be a hole in the security nothing is safe from ducks. ducks are ducks from ducks. ducks ducks ducks ducks ducks. morality : ducks can hack your computers.

The entire web is broken when you consider that confidential information is sent via email (e.g. password resets). This allows anyone to just sniff the information and use it to reset the password, encrypted or not. We really need that secure email right now...

If he's savvy enough to understand what plaintext transmission of information is and when it's happening, and why it poses a security risk for login information, he ought to also understand why it's a bad idea to use the same password for important and less important websites. I wouldn't like it if someone hacked my tasvideos.org account and started posting goat porn or spam, and I would not mind if the login was encrypted, but I do not consider it a very high priority issue either.
you are right.

Yeah, hackers are really interested in your password to this site.
if he is using the same password everywhere, this site can become a key to his bank account...
That's his own fault then for stupid interneting
not to be offienssive, but that's the case for like 90% of the peoples i know working in the IT, i know that the first reaction you get about changing password is "ow must i really do it ? they are so hard to remember" there is even a XKCD for this :

seriously, thank you for that and all what the german did durring the marathon and to be honest, expect the last 2 days and because of the constant rescheduling the euro zones had still had good runs (if you where not working of course :/ ) like the WTFJapan or awfull games dones quick... but it's true that we missed 3 big blocs : DCK / Castlevania / 2d zelda and the tasbot of course who also desynched my sleep schedule...

you're right but then for the CT Run who was around 10 Min , it means that the price was around 1000$/ min || and 10000/50000 = 0,2 cents where halo 2 was 0,06cents... and we didn't account the time ( 2h for halo / 10 Min for CT...) i'm ok if the prices rises but i don't find it normal that we manage double the total amount of money while there are still unmet goals. the price for the halo2 run WAS correct, legendary is a hard feat, it deserve it's money, the goal was almost not met, due to it's schelduring time + what i think as a "lack of hype"... a lot of the goals where "just sniped" right before the run, i seriously think that we were lucky to raise that much, next SGDQ WILL be far harder....

You mean the Fire Emblem challenge? x)
more the 10,000 $ for the ng + ending of chrono trigger, the 6000$ for the trainging level of half life or the serious 15,000 $ for a single level in Super mario galaxy 2 when you see a 3,000$ for the legendary mode in halo 2, the un- met 600.00 $ hard mode in kendo rage and the others like that, it's make you think....

aaaaaannnnnnddd the main event is done but i get a mixed feeling about all of this, have the marathon crossed an uncanny line ? it's good that the million goal was reached but i have felt a "forced" effort more than a "common goal" also i thought that some of the challenges where far too high priced....

there was ONCE UPON A TIME LIKE XXXXX YEARS AGO : nate, (old ?) sda admin was running metroid2002 ( best metroid site i ever knew and basicaly the gateway to SDA / bisqwit.iki.fi to/tasvideos for me ) ... i'm trying to remember as much as i can so voila : nate wasn't tooooo fond of TASES at the times ( because they kept being associated with non TAS speedruns, the community was really small and the trend relatively new...) as it kinda "killed" the legitimity ( the famous LOL CHEAT CHEAT STATE SAVE!!!!11!!11) of the speedruning comunity i think that it's the origin of the "NO CHEATED" banner on SDA runs the problem is : bioSpark made a TAS for metroid fusion (or was it the Sesshoumaru's 1 %, or was it even zero mission ) that showcased the tas for the Site. the thing was that to separate the non tas from the tases nate edited the short intro of the runs with a big red CHEATED tag. the words where cconssidered by somes a bit "too strong" and E-shitstorm issued.... anyway that was likes AGES ago and i just checked the site : 1 - it's still alive and kikin' <GG nate 2 - the videos where corrected and now they are "technical demos" correct me if i'm wrong but that's also why we have our own intro now.... link to the website : http://www.metroid2002.com/

i don't get why everybody is so worked up if everybody want to compare this run then use the pokemon yelow submitions one finish the game , the second runs code we already agreed that a better code execution would be the obselete requierement as exemple the original MLP demo was obseleted by a PI day themed demo now on the sames bases i think this run should be accepted and if a better demo than "code another game in a game" is made then this run would be obseleted as for the "last input like the old demo, it should be when the payload as been fully injected. the inputs showing that the payload work is not needed (as we have a live video showing that they work) gosh do we really need to get THAT serious for so simples details?? i guess that tas is definitly SERIOUS BUSINESS...

let's just close the subject and publish this as a showcase publication a la gradius 3.. also for the encode, i propose that we simply use the AGDQ stream... it would serve as good publicity stun and "kinda separate " the run from the rest of the submitions...

YES vote cause of Tompa assisted speedrun maybe TAS of the year is a bit early (i mean we're like 6 days into 2014 ) but it's sure a great candidate
