Exception: People have been known to TAS unreleased versions of a game in the case where the game was never released.
I guess "Made available" is a better term than "released" since it also covers ROM hacks like Super Demo World?
"Made available" is exactly what released means.
Don't really agree.. if a beta tester leaks an early build of a game, I wouldn't call that a release.
Not an official release, but it is certainly a release.
the first skyblazer submision was a beta release and was obseleted by a tas of the official release if i can recall correctly... anyway, great Run,it should be accepted in the moon tier and for version differences, it should be treated like region differences : the fastest the best but the latest version should be used if the run doesn't use glitches / functions aviable on older version ( like for a deathless / glitchless run, the lastest version might be preferable as peoples would easily find the "good" version...)

well, just finished watching the run (fast forwarding some battles along the way ) it's well done, looks optimised but there are some things that i'd like to say : - you did not complete the guardia mini games ( beating gato , getting all the clones.... ) - you did not fill chrono's house with cats - some criticals could be avoided saving some frames (the first battle comes in mind but there maybe some other battles doin' the same thing) exept that, it's a good run i'll give it a yes

Guys, if you are copying 1.3 into the same folder as 1.2 that's why things are crashing. We moved around the dlls. Try a fresh folder.
I tried directly with 1.3 before trying 1.2 The prereqs didn't help was it for XP or 7, same crash. As i'm on a 3g connection, i lost my morning downloading the whole thing :)

this run just blew my mind from the begining to the end the creativity, the speed, the overall smoothness, this run achievied to become something more than mere TASing, it became "art". For all the efforts put in it, all the collaboration and creativity, this run shows another new level of Gaming experience. for me this run not only deserve to be stared but also is definitly the TAS of the year. yes vote

as i think that "good endings" should be prefered as they really "complete" the game, bad endings could be alowed when it may change the gameplay radically, the abe's oddyssee is a good exemple as how the gameplay is changed by the ending. another expemple is wario 2 where there is no "bad" ending but multiple ending branchement, we did publish the shortest ending and the 100 % one. there is also knuckle chaotics where the only published run is the bad ending... the fun thing with the vault is that the problem is inversed : the good endings become sub optimals compared to bad endings if they don't enter the 100% completion categorie....

I think that This game is too similar to it's SNES counterpart to be judged as a separate game The SNES run is far more refined and beats this one on the entertainement value and the speed trade off is too great making it look more unoptimised than entertaining. This shouldn't be vaulted

I think everyone needs to calm down in general. People do take the site seriously, and I don't think that is such a bad thing. It is their choice, I would prefer if users would restrain on the "Lol why so serious" type posts regarding site changes.
Do y ou know how i got thoses TASes? Here, lemme show a magic trick, do you see the frame ? "POST" Frame's gone! Sorry i just had to... On a more serious tone: I try to not get into "hate wars" but a good TAS requiere a lot of studborness, rigority a strong will and more studborness ... Those are strong human traits that reflect a lot in our personality. When a lot of same kind peoples met, things HAVE to sometime heaten up, there is no other way, it's our pationate nature that do the talk. A comunity is a living thing, peoples leaves new peoples Comes, things changes, never for our personal interest but always for the global interest. When we don't like the changes, we need to not behave like AVGN's bragging about why it was Better before but be constructive and try to make peoples understand our point of view. It's stupidly hard, almost impossible ( let's face it after all we're still on the internet) But trying is the good way to go. Let's just simply not forget to enjoy what de do, to have fun... And to kill the Batman

Wow, I figured Lynx wasn't TASable yet, since I hadn't seen any published Lynx runs. Apparently it has been for a while. Nothing wrong with this TAS though, other than entertainment. Publish to the Vault!
