Hello everyone, In high periods of traffic, video quality in nicovideo.jp gets reduced for common users (it's called economic mode) and, sometimes, videos go super fast and skip everything after some point The encoder of the run saw that happening and uploaded another video that doesn't skip things anymore during economic mode: http://dic.nicovideo.jp/v/sm10040622 Hope it helped who's trying to watch it
thanks a lot, here is the mp4 of your video for those like me who don't like streaming :) http://ftpdugeni.free.fr/idee/TASzelda.mp4 anyway, it seems that this submition became *again* a debate on the rules, so let me get back to the votes : did i found the run entertaining ? : yes, the gliches where funny and kinda surprising does this run obselete the current published run ? : yes, by more than a hour it seems is the submition optimal ? : since i didn't saw any other OoT submition with a better time, i'd say "for now, yes" should it be published and obselete the current run ? : yes. about the J vs U rom, the runner skipped like 90% of the game, i don't think that language actualy mater at this point since, even if there is a plot it's totaly skipped... and it's not like everybody perfectly know the plot of this game....

a publication in not even 24h ? that's a record, i didn't even had the time to watch the run and it's already published... i'm sure that swordless link did a wonderfull job but aren't we going a 'bit' too fast there ? or is it the first TAP, Tool Assisted Publication ?

to be honest casual viewers hardly manage to follow movies longer than 15 min, exept some games that realy marked their "lives" (like OoT) usualy , when i show a run to someone,i show them the 0star mario 64 run on my phone, they all like the "ninja" effect but i know that none of them would seat to watch another run... those who manage to pass that "cap" usualy become active viewers / members and begin to "see" the optimisations, and i agree with you, a simple label saying that the movie is obseletable is far enough for me.

the people wanted an OoT run so badly.
you resume the problem perfectly peoples wanted it published, if we were to unpublish the run peoples would brag about the lack of an OoT run and might even submit their own run without knowing all of the improvables things...

Just live with runs that hurt the site's image until someone gets around to doing it? I would like a way to handle the situation.
we shouln't erase our own history :p but if you find those movies realy hurting, you should edit the submition text with something like "this movie was made XX years ago, and can easily be improved, give it a try" of course there is a lie on the "easily" but at least it would give newcomers something to begin with...

--Unintentional MOD edit removed the first paragraph of this post, Oops :(-- as i said, instead of unpublishing runs, we should focus on improving them

voting no too on the unpublication process, all the published movies where because they where once in our standards, so they are still valid attempts, it's not a run fault if it's not optimal it's the runners understandable lazyness to not redo a X hour movie with XXX hours of work behind a published movie should stay published and if someone complain about the suboptimisation of a run, they can do the job themselves a good way to separate "curently optimal runs" from "obseletables runs" would be to put a "This movie is obeseletable" tag in the page with a link to a wiki/thread for the improvements, or a target icon like the stars / moons icon for the stars movies. if we begin to remove all the suboptimal movies we should remove all the movies with "sacrifice time for entertainement" in the submission text.

If the movie is finally published, we'd willing to obsolete this with another two-max speedrun, actually this can be improved a lot. We are also planning to do another with Axel and Skate.
i'd be glad to the see the axel and skate run

Why? To extend Xkeeper, this game was published on real cartridges and sold to run on real hardware.
because it's missing something important : :D more seriously, i'm for the concept demo / hack tag because it's not a "official" game aproved by nintendo on the console, it's would be like tassing homebrews as games because they can run on a real playstation... (btw is anybody's bad enough for a TAS of rocks n gem on the net yaroze ?)

my... i was surprised as the hack isn't "so bad" some levels uterly suffer from the downsample ( like MZ) but levels like LZ are actualy not that visualy bad, the game isn't that laggy and have a realy decent speed for a nes hack... i was even surprised that they bothered to program the underwater air management.... the run is good and the glitches made me smiles, yes vote but this run should be published as a concept demo/hack.
