Yeah, I'm currently also leaning towards rejecting it. WarioWare simply has too little to gain in time over any non-assisted run, barring menu navigation and, from the looks of it, some of the boss stages.
The question, however, is whether those boss stages would make enough of a difference to make it acceptable as a speedrun. I'm still leaning towards no on this.

This situation reminds me of Pokémon Ruby and its "I'm going to give you a little tas" screenshot. That one was also recommended against, as it doesn't give the idea of something TASlike happening. Screenshots should impress the potential viewers; show off unexpected things.

Also, does Cheetahmen 2 even have a soft reset function? To my knowledge, it's only possible to hard reset. And I haven't been able to reproduce the glitch in emulator yet (using hard resets), which is probably impossible because of emulator determinism.

Changes always come with criticism. The site has been through a fair amount of change recently, which naturally leads to a significant amount of criticism in return.
Still, I find it annoyingly hypocritical that those people who were always clamoring against game choice, are now complaining about degrading the site's values. I suppose some people just will never ever be pleased, regardless of what anyone does.

The only reason there was a row (which, for the record, was here) was because the 'original' author actively refused to have 'his' run/fastest time on the site. It didn't stop the recreated run from being published though. As stated in that thread, strategies and frame counts aren't copyrightable. A case could be made for movie files/inputs, but if those aren't given by the original author, then that's a non-issue either way.

I want the AVGN category to become huge! I want people to mainly focus on AVGN and later PewDiePie TASes, leaving the other games behind. This needs to be a main point of the site, how you guys have made videos of games that not only exist, but have actually been acknowleged by PEOPLE that exist! I know that it will increase traffic to the site like crazy. You need that! If the PewDiePie category is made I will definitely tell the Bro army, and then PewDiePie will probably make a hugely popular video about it!!! Imagine the fame you'll get from all of us 15 year olds :)

i also saw many in the other thread claiming that the category should not affect anyone and that if they're getting put off by it that the site basically doesn't need their attention. this is not at all a good way to go about running the site. there are already a lot of well known speedrunners and TASers that have expressed their disdain towards the AVGN category, stating or agreeing with statements expressing that the site has lost a lot of credibility for taking such a ridiculous concept so seriously. this is something i think a lot would have expected as an april fool's joke. i don't see how you can consider keeping something on the site that seasoned members would expect as an april fool's joke.
i myself have lost any faith i had in tasvideos ever becoming a decent, credible site after this. i was already quite put off by the judging process, and the fact that TASes had been rejected for things such as game choice. i thought you guys were moving forward with the tiers, but it seems like you really went nowhere.
