Bleh, the game looks really messy. No vote for game choice. It looks like Mario and Castlevania put straight into a blender, taking random elements from each. There's barely any creativity involved, and the game's core design is messy as hell. Graphically it looks kinda ugly, especially some of the sprites look really bad. Animation and movement are choppy, and the action is a bit sluggish and slow, which also makes it more boring to watch a speedrun of. The sound puts me off, the music is 8-bit at times, pseudo-8-bit at other times and some odd kind of midi at other times. The sound effects are also often something way beyond that, and greatly inconsistent. If a game attempts to resemble 8-bit, it should do so all the way, and this messy half job just puts me off. I don't know about the speedrun quality itself, it looks decent, but the game isn't worth a publication in my opinion. No vote.

Agreed. I would say that an all-bosses run that doesn't use the suspend glitch should be able to obsolete this run. The purpose of an all-bosses run is to show off "all" of the game; skipping merrily about the levels without regards for the solidity of the walls subverts that. That said, figuring out how to handle the Nest of Evil would be difficult, since its normal unlock requirement is not very entertaining (requiring you to have mapped 90% of the game).
I'd think if a Richter run (or even Old Axe Armor run) gets made, it would fill the "non-suspend glitch all bosses" part just fine for the most part (although a number of bosses are still skippable, and Nest of Evil...well...yeah but it isn't necessary for game completion either way). A warpless Jonathan+Charlotte run would just mostly do the same things Richter and such do, although it would take longer due to a more forced route that requires going through just about every part of the castle (and without Speed Up or Final Sword either as you only get those near the end of the game normally). So I think a Richter run would be better to have than a warpless Jonathan run.

Simply amazing. This is an incredibly nice run. Clear yes vote for me. The only thing that's questionable is the goal choice. Portrait of Ruin already has opportunities for a lot of categories, I'm not sure "all bosses" fits in too well with that. Doesn't make the run less amazing, though.

Wow I have NO idea where to go to try to fix this, so I went to a forum I had a tab open on :P. My Youtube account seems to have lost the ability to reply to comments. Like... just my account. I've tried different browsers, computers and operating systems (hipster linux user). The only thing that seemed to work was to make a new account. I reported a bug to Youtube but nothing happened. I do not want to use a new username! It uses my real name! IT USES... MY... REAL... NAME! That's fucked up! I need my old account back. Why is this even a problem? Is the ability banned for me? Is it a glitch? I don't even know where to begin! Update: Found this after typing in my query to google.com. "It's a bug on the video watch page. YouTube is aware of it. Go to the "all comments" page. The Reply option should function from there. If anyone else is having this problem, just do that." Update2: Wow, Ok. The all comments page doesn't work either. Just a new account that my real name on it *cringes*. I cannot look! This is cruel and unusual punishment, google! Do something!
If you don't want to use your second account (as it contains your real name), is there any issue with creating a third account? I don't see there being any issue there, unless you have a lot of videos or something on your first account. (Also, if you know that it was a messed up idea to use your real name, then why did you do that in the first place?)

You must have a very poor standard for "too long" if four lines of text is "too long" to read.

That was a menu screen. Those are generally much easier to hex. On the contrary, the 3 frame improvement is in-game, probably when the RNG is rolling, making it much harder to fix and probably would require him to redo half the movie. Also, it's already published, nothing can be done about that.

I don't know if what I'm doing will be submittable. I just figured that now that the game is more or less complete, I could at least just TAS it at least for testrun purposes. And because I know quite a few people would want to see a TAS of this.

First decided to fight the skullman will be very slow The first choice dustman can get the Rush Cannon Stage midway boss can be resolved quickly
Like I said, the Rush Cannon is obtained by defeating three Robot Masters, not by just defeating one. I still wouldn't get the Rush Cannon anyway. Also, beating Dust Man with the buster is at least as slow as Skull Man, since he also has a pattern that's occasionally invincible, when he's sucking in, and, if I recall correctly, the same amount of invincibility on hit (127 frames). Dust Man's stage is a lot slower without Hell Wheel, as it's a very long stage with a lot of walking/sliding.
woabclf wrote:
I Don't know the difference in speed? Sliding and skull weapon (Dust)
Hell Wheel is much faster than sliding. I haven't worked out the exact difference yet, but it's clear that Hell Wheel is much faster. EDIT: Slide speed is 2.5 pixels per frame and Hell Wheel at max speed is 4.3 pixels per frame (to be exact, 4 pixels and 76/256 subpixels). This is a significant difference.

True, I haven't even worked out yet what boss to do next after Skull Man. I'm thinking either Ring Man or possibly Drill Man (and collecting Wire depending on how long it takes to get it in Drill Man's stage)

The past few days I've been working on a run of this; in particular, Skull Man's stage, which would be the base for an any% run. (A 100% would do Dust before Skull in order to get the Skull Amulet, and I also skip Beat here). Personally I think the game could get both an any% and a 100% published. They would actually be somewhat different as far as the route goes, and there are many items that would or wouldn't be collected, side areas that would or wouldn't be visited, etc. Also, I figured out that Rush Cannon is obtained by defeating any three Robot Masters. Here's the FM2: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/535001054/Rockman%204%20-%20Minus%20Infinity-0.fm2 Encode on YouTube: Link to video
