Wouldn't surprise me, considering Inti Creates has done this before multiple times. The same thing also occurred in Mega Man Zero 1-3 and the ZX games, if I recall correctly.

One last question, though. Why is the regular weapon used in the miniboss refights of Wily 2, instead of using special weapons like in the first fights and refueling later?
The falling pillars in the stage form a frame rule of sorts. (Apparently this frame rule doesn't count weapon refills), so it's faster to defeat them with the Mega Buster because he has to waste time anyway and less refills are required this way.

Congratulations, diggidoyo, for submitting the first Wii / Dolphin TAS to TASVideos. Having watched nearly all WIPs, I can say the TAS is also of excellent quality. Yes vote for the TAS.

Brandon: try opening the movie file in SNES9x, play through the movie, then on the last frame make a savestate and load that savestate (in read+write). Maybe that fixes the filesize.

Personally, I think the movie file should end after the final dialogue before the credits, not after the final shot on Wily. The post-credits inputs can be done in the encode by an encoder. (This is the same idea as was done in my MMZX and MMZXA TASes). I recall at least one submission had some flak for ending before the final inputs required to view the credits.

Bump. I've been having this game on my future ideas list for quite some time. However, as with Xtreme 1, the game has three modes (X / Zero / Xtreme in this one), only the latter of which contains all stages and bosses, so it would be the superior version. However, it needs to be unlocked first (by collecting 3000 DNA souls and then buying it for 2000). I made a verification movie that unlocks Xtreme mode here: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/207057123/MegaManXtreme2Unlock.vbm (the unlock movie is over an hour long, but you can just turbo through the majority of it) If anyone else wants to make a TAS of this, this can be used as an unlock / verification movie file for Xtreme mode.

I set up a page on the site with the progress of this game from adelikat's SVN. Wiki: Mothrayas/MMV. All updates of the run will be on there, so be sure to check there for the latest progress on the run.

Is there any item that forces a revisit? I think a lot of time would have to be made up for for a revisit to be worthwhile, especially considering there's quite a bit of loading time, also in the middle of the stage.

An user should be able to choose for himself the name he wants his TAS on the site to be accredited to. If he wants his TAS to be primarily known as done by his nickname Kregorio, so be it. There's no need to force him to use his forum/real life name.

To be completely honest, while the zipping is probably the most impressive trick discovered so far, the pausing and switching completely kills it for me. It's probably why I enjoy speedruns of MM10 so much more than those of MM9. Please, for a normal TAS, just use real time.
This, very much. I'm a little disappointed Concrete Shot doesn't seem to allow for larger zips :(

I am curious to know what this "improvement" is. Also, what is this new trick being spoken of?
A better double jump trick by jumping in mid-air right at the end of a vertical airdash while releasing a cross charged shot, allowing X to move up during the shot release animation rather than fall down. This saves a couple of seconds in Volt Catfish's stage and probably saves a bit in other stages as well.

As we told you a long time ago, me and Mothrayas are planning to work on it, but we plan to wait for the new version of PSXjin. Ours will be Any%, but, i feel like i shouldn't make you wait more to do this TAS, since apparently, you've wanted to do this since a long time. About your WIP, your jumps killed my ears, everything except that looks great, not sure if it's faster to use 2 charged shots on the boss in the way you did (Atma used one charged shot to finish him), but i think both may be the same.
Rolanmen1, I'm wondering just why we are waiting for a PSXjin update? I don't think much, if anything important would change unless there would be a complete overhaul in timing or movie format. Also, I think sparky could do either any% X or 100% X if he wants. I see that he's way more motivated to do it than me at least. If you want, maybe you two could work together?

Just mentioning that adelikat and I are going to work on this. Currently we're just at the start of the first stage (Mercury), but this will probably change soon :)

what?
In the X3 100% thread you put all blame of me not knowing of a specific improvement on me just for not making encodes. I think it was presented in a slightly rude way as well. And then you posted in this thread a message of which the message came down to "this shouldn't have been published because of improvements" just because of a find post-acception, and I also noticed the 40 yes votes streak suddenly accompanied by a no vote. Basically it seemed you wanted this run not to be published/unpublished just because of one improvement found after the run was finished/accepted/published. If time actually was the most important matter, I wouldn't have killed Bit and Byte just to fight another boss just because people wanted me to, and I wouldn't have risked using laggy weapons and just thrown out the X-Buster everywhere. This movie was made with entertainment in mind, and speed was only a secondary goal.

JudgingGuidelines - Improvements And Obsoletions wrote:
While it is expected that the new run should use all tricks and techniques known at the time, it is not uncommon for new time-saving techniques to be found during the later stages of making a run. Ideally, the run should be restarted or edited to allow for inclusion of these new discoveries, however, if restarting will be especially time consuming, exceptions can be made to this rule per judge's discretion.
I (or anybody else on the forum for that matter) didn't know about the improved double jump trick until the run was accepted and being published. For the record, I did ask with another expert Mega Man X-TASer (FractalFusion) back when I TASed that stage and he wasn't aware of faster methods either. Also, the goal of this run was to make an entertaining TAS, and not speed-naziing around. Note the tag of speed-entertainment tradeoffs both in the submission text and the publication. No, I don't think hex editing will work. I'm almost sure it would desync in the stages following that.

Noted. Just from quick testing, I found I'd probably have saved a number of seconds on Volt Catfish's stage. I wonder why I always only get to hear these things after submission and not while I'm actually making the TAS :/

I didn't do Vile's stage because there's no benefit at all from doing it if I'm not going to collect the Z-Saber (other than getting an additional miniboss and a different boss in Doppler 2), and I don't collect the Z-Saber because it forces the bad ending, and this is a good ending run. The only reason I did kill Bit and Byte was because the viewers wanted me to.
