It was the second shot of a not fully charged cross charge shot. It functions just like the fully charged cross charge shots, which allow another airdash after being used.

Besides, getting a SNES ROM and emulator is significantly easier, faster and less space-consuming than getting a PSX ISO and emulator, and it runs at full speed for most people, unlike DeSMuME.

That has been done in the TAS, at the very least in the Area K miniboss fight. (It doesn't work on bosses due to invincibility after being hit by the same move)

sirstarmagic, the people are voting no because it is, to the site's standards, honestly not a very optimal TAS. As I linked above, there's a significantly faster TAS of this game published on the site.
It doesn't matter how much you glitch with more bugs, but if you don't beat the published runs of the game on the site, few people will vote yes for publication, and the run will be rejected.
I would also not recommend submitting any more movies of Super Mario Bros., because it's one of the most perfected games of the site. It would be very tough for you to match that level of perfection with TAS tools, and further suboptimal runs will be rejected.

I got me one today. I like it. The 3D effect really does look nice.
Now to wait until some good games come out for it. None of the launch titles were particularly noteworthy. (I ended up with Ridge Racer 3D, which admittedly is a pretty good game)

Posting here just because I've been theorizing over a Residential District route today.
Multipliers, like seemingly anything else, don't appear in the PSX version. This means that I can't use them to finish with just seven missions - I need more than that. I calculated that I need to do 3 green missions, 4 yellow missions and 3 red missions. I determined the following route:
BlowJob > ScienceFriction > FakeTruce > LaBrat'sPlan > GreatestHits > RedneckAttack > ValdezAlert > Murder in the Mall > Gang CarBang > DistractionAction.
As you may see, there's quite a bit of respect-hopping in this one. I colored the missions, signifying the gang (blue=rednecks, dark grey=zaibatsu, dark yellow=scientists) and the difficulty (green=1 respect needed, yellow=3 respect needed, red=5 respect needed). However, I don't think the respect hopping is going to be much of a problem.

I don't have any problems with AVI recording, other than the video and audio being stored separately, and PSXjin being slow in general during AVI recording. Neither is much of a problem for me.
Do you have trouble AVI recording in PSXjin specifically or in emulators in general?

I've been thinking about TASing this, if PS2 rerecording ever comes.
Anybody know which upgrades for X could speed up the run? I heard that the blue boots upgrade for X (invincible dash) also makes him move faster, but I never really noticed anything. Another point is how viable red body armor (completely negating hitstun) is, considering that in TAS settings X would have much less of a problem just blowing up stuff in front of him.
Another important point, what would be the fastest way to deal with bosses? I know X has his charge shot > couple of uncharged shots > weakness combo, but Zero can pretty much chip away with air or ground slashes without bosses ever getting more than ~10 frames of invincibility.
Also, does anyone know if Vile has to come at least a set amount of times in the stages?
