Hopefully the next challenges won't be so simple that you'd just have to resort to tactics like that to win this.

You do realize that this was submitted (and rejected, and the author banned) one year ago, right?

If this was recorded off the normal mode TAS, which has 35181 rerecords, and the full movie file of both runs (posted in submission comments) has 64068 rerecords, then this run would have exactly 64068-35181=28887 rerecords. That sounds more accurate than "about 29000".

I agree, the load of extra enemies made the run much more entertaining. Probably GBx TAS of the year material.

I checked out how level data is handled in MM6, and concluded that in order to return to the Blizzard Man checkpoint, the Mr. X 1 stage level data would have to be in between the checkpoint and the end of Blizzard Man's stage. Obviously, it's not there.
And that's not even getting into further complications, such as tileset issues, how the level pointer would direct you to Mr. X 1 and back, how the Mr. X level intro could play and what the Blizzard Man spikes could have to do with it.
tl;dr: Denied.

Voting no because there's already a Mega Man 2 hack TAS published. This hack is inferior to that one (Rockman no Constancy)
I recommend you try a hack of another Mega Man game, like Rockman 5 Air Sliding.

Alright, I've watched it. It's definitely not bad for a first TAS, but there are a few suboptimal parts:
Wall jumping up vertical shafts seemed slow in general. I'm pretty sure X could wall jump faster.
You didn't use dashed uncharged shots + fully charged shots against the intro boss (unlike FractalFusion's run), which I'm pretty sure is faster.
It may just be me, but I think there are more places you could abuse ice superspeed than you did.
On Blizzard Buffalo's boss battle, you didn't move away from him to shoot the uncharged shot faster and thus charge faster.
I noticed a few places where you dash down a pit, rather than dashjump prior to falling down, so you fall down faster. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe that is faster here.
You beat Toxic Seahorse in three rounds of Frost Shield rapid fire, the published run in two.
I noticed you dashing on conveyor belts that move against you, slowing you down. I'm pretty sure dashjumping over then is faster.
Also, the category is rather trivial. I recommend you don't submit it, as it would most likely be rejected. Feel free to post the run in the Mega Man X3 thread, though.

There are mixed opinions between us X4 TASers (me, Rolanmen1 and Atma) about whether we should use the Japanese version (Rockman X4) or the USA version.
The Japanese version has better voice acting (X's American voice acting is, simply put, fucking terrible (he sounds like an 8 year old)), but on the other hand using the USA version would not conflict at all with any region-related rules.
We'd like to hear more opinions about which version to use from the community.
(side note: the rules on which version to use claims that "superior music" would be reason enough for a version change; I assume superior SFX should count as well)

Yeah, F2-L2-P1-P2 is fastest. That way you'll use the transervers to transport as little as possible.
And as for boss levels...
Hivolt: L1? Since we'll be fighting him with ZX it will take longer to kill him without abusing his weak point. I also can't think of many utilities of Tornado that require over like 16 bars of biometal energy right at once.
Fistleo: L4, 5-hit kill, lolz. Unless hitting his weak point four times does enough to kill him in 4 hits, but I highly doubt that.
Lurerre: don't really care, enough to beat Hurricaune quickly?
Hurricaune: L3 or so, enough to beat in 2 combo's without ice dragon while keeping enough bm meter for Tornado
Flammole: L4, same as Fistleo
Leganchor: don't care
Purprill: L1, just beat him fast because PX is useless anyway
Protectos: L1, see Purprill

I lol'd at that TAS. The combination of speed, a joke character and (yet) total pwnage of the opponents is what makes fighting TASes entertaining.

Actually, CCC is not just "to the re-entering of levels due to getting less stars and stars in a different order in each level". It's also, you know, getting stars without getting coins or using caps and cannons. That's actually pretty similar to this run not using a sword. (I do assume not using a sword here has a greater impact than not using CCCs in SM64, though).
I think an even more comparable run to this is Super Mario World (Small only), which did end up getting published.
