You might want to test which path is the faster of the two in Maranha Act 2. I didn't really test it when I did my TAS. It seemed like the path I did was the faster of the two.

Good work. I'm sure the final result will put my run to shame. It would be nice to see below an hour final time. I dunno if that much can be shaved though.

I wonder if it would be possible to Zip down in the elevator part in the beginning of Maranha Act 2. That's the only place I think it might work and be useful. I don't have time to try right now.

It's cool that time saver worked in Aitos Act 1. Gotta love that jump boost trick. When I was working on my run I figured even if I could across there it would just be a dead end. I guess it was intended by the devs perhaps.

Make sure you use this time saver in Kasandora Act 1 that I found a while back and didn't use in my published run. Should save a few seconds I'd think. If you already know about this please disregard.

Fighting the Act 2 Bloodpool boss without any magic seems pretty slow. I guess the time it takes to get either of the two scrolls in Fillmore would cancel any time saved there I guess. Now if there is any big waiting periods later I would suggest getting 200 people in Fillmore and grab that Scroll. I guess with enough cheat roads and having the towns develop on their own while you're gone would hopefully eliminate that.

I would rather see my run improved first before a Prof mode run comes into fruition possibly. I think 5 mins at least could be shaved off. So I'm interested seeing the results. The run is 5 years old for crying out loud.

Looks good. You might want to test if it's possible to kill the Act 2 Bloodpool boss with him teleporting once and not twice like I did in the published run. I posted that test run a while back on the top of page 6 where I came close. I was only 1 hit away then he went in his second form. I didn't try a ton, so it might be possible. Stardust seems fairly random... Maybe if I entered the room on a different frame or something I could of got a better Stardust.. Who knows..?

I get glitchy graphics on the title screen and the game just goes black after it loads Dan's Crypt. I wanted to TAS this too... :\

How odd. I'm able to watch FractalFusions zero runs without them desyncing, but this desyncs so early (I tested with no sound, midas audio and the other pete's audio one, all to the same effect) that you dont even actually pass the first area. You get into a pause menu and don't get out for the remaining 8000 or so frames. For reference, I have a bin/cue of x4 (file size of the .bin I have is 592,217,136 bytes), but given that FF has an iso, I doubt that's the issue.
My Bin is the exact same size... The only thing I can think of is did you use P.E OP.S. CDR Driver 1.4 for the Cdrom plugin? Meh.. seems like I should wait before I get serious about TASing PSX. It has awhile to go it seems.

I just started my Test Run. It plays to the end of Magma Dragoon. Not sure if my strategy was the best against him. Hopefully it syncs properly.

I was testing stuff against Jet Stingray and I found that the Stock Arm Upgrade is best against him. You can get 4 fully charged shots off him plus 1 half charged shot before he goes off screen. I haven't tried doing 4 charged shots then using Frost tower on him. That might be the best.

I was thinking of doing 100% with X. I'm wondering what the best route is though? Should I copy the route of the 100% on SDA? I would think Storm Owl first would be best if you could reach the Arm Capsule without the Web Spider weapon. I don't think there is a way though.

I was fooling around with TASing this game. I've managed to gain 14 frames on the published run on the second screen (of the first level). I might continue this...it depends if it seems worth doing. I won't be motivated if I can't improve this run by more than 5 seconds or so. I'll see if I can find more time savers.

I'll elaborate on a few of his answers. For the Zombie Dragon fight I believe we did 4 damage at the end. If we didn't and tried to get 4 damage earlier, it could of easily screwed up the rest of the fight and possibly made us get no more non delayed 8 damage hits. We got really lucky in that fight. Delaying 3 times to get 8 damage was actually pretty good. Doing 4 damage instead of delaying isn't worth it because it means waiting for another boring cycle of him going back and forth. Also when you die you lose all your spells. Dying saved about 300 some frames I believe, and we couldn't manipulate a Boomerang after that where it much was needed. It's quite possible we would of lost all those frames gained from not having the Boomerang when it's needed. It seems this game will need to be completely disassembled and it's mechanics studied for this game to be completely perfect. Otherwise, I don't think it can be improved much at all. (Besides using the Tasmanian Sword which should be a separate category as mentioned in the Sub text.)

Samurai Dragon is dead. Now all the remains is the final dungeon and the last boss. Expect to see it on the workbench soon.

Here is a small taste what to expect in our run. :) Too bad aren't more places to create blocks like that. It looks quite cool. It would look cool scaling up 200 feet. :P

Update: The run is going smoothly. Angerfist and myself just finished beating the Zombie Dragon. It turned out that arrows weren't worth it for the Mummy dragoon. We managed to find a good pattern. (Though we had to take damage to keep it.) Also Buying the Mithril Sword also wasn't worth it because it seems Lizard Man has the potential to do up to 8 damage with the starter sword. The Mithril Sword doesn't really do anything it seems. Buying the Shogun Sword turned out to be worth it for the Zombie Dragon fight (4-8 damage range vs a 2-3..no brainer). Even with the time it takes to collect the coins and the fact you also have to buy and wear the Mithril to be able to buy the Shogun stuff. (Charms Stones are too rare and manipulation sucks in this game.) We had to delay some hits on him so we could get all 8 damage hits, otherwise we would do 4 damage. I figured I'd let you guys know how the run is going. I probably won't post any WIPs so look forward to it in the workbench eventually! :)

Yeah, I'd prefer to see an any% Rockman run. If it were up to me, Fractal (or someone else) would do MMX 100% next. :P (I tried and came to the conclusion that I'm not suited for MM games.)
