I'd like to see Atma's run improved personally. (the warpless Soma run that is.)

Does anyone know of a password or something so I can get infinite or a lot of arrows as Lizard-Man? I know of the WE5T0NE code, but the infinite items the Hu-Man has losses effect when you transform. He also does way more damage than the Lizard-Man so I can't use him to test comparatively. I just need to know how many arrows I need for the Mummy Dragon.

Cool, I support this. I only saw the E version on my regular Rom site so I assumed there was no US. I guess I'll see if it works with your movie or try to find another rom. Edit: Alright, I found the right Rom and watched it. It looks nice so far, only problem is the boss invincibility time like you mentioned.

Nah, we shouldn't need any more arrows after that. I also started a new run and saved a few frames on the first few screens and on the and title screen. (no Autofire and whatnot) Here it is.

Complete Route. I made a mistake. I forgot to grab the key before I warped after beating the Pirate Dragon. You see me have to go all the way with Hawk Man to get it. Otherwise, this route is optimal I think. At least if you aren't getting the Tasmanian Sword. Speaking of that, I believe you skip 2 bosses if you use it and it would make the run more boring I think. The only thing I'm still unsure of, as I mentioned before, is the Shogun gear. It certainly speeds up the Zombie Dragon fight which still takes ages. It takes like twice as long without though. I also think arrows would speed the Mummy Dragon fight up a lot. The problem is you can't really get the items you want in this game and picking up stuff takes forever. I guess if we could get 10 arrows without wasting too much time on the way to the Mummy Dragon, it might be worth it. Oh, and I ended it at the last dungeon cause there's no point doing that cause it's so straight forward.

Here is my latest. Pretty much in the same place at the Zombie Dragon dungeon. I'm not sure if the Shogun gear is really worth it. Thats something either you or me could test later. As for the route, it's fairly straight forward. I still need to finish this test run with my planned route for a reference. I'll just do the rest sloppily cause it doesn't matter. I dunno why I was optimizing it well for the most part cause I didn't plan to submit. :P I would feel more motivated to work on this on my free time if I had a partner, so that would be cool. I didn't plan on getting the Tasmanian Sword, because it seems lame and it reminds me of the Mega Man 3 debug thing with the second controller. I hope that's cool with you.

Cool, I'll watch it later. How about WB 3 next? :P I was doing it, but I haven't worked on it in ages cause I have a life and job and stuff now.

I can count this runs awesomeness all the way up to Schfifty Five. I'd love to see the warpless run improved. I'm sure you're the man for the job.

Yeah, mine didn't match either but it synced fine. Infact, I tried using a patched english translation rom and it still synced fine if anyone wants to do that. Nice progress btw. Dynamo Man was sort of disappointing as far as zipping goes though.

I thought I should say that this should finally take CotM's Star. It's super optimized now and definitely more entertaining due to the sheer speed and variety.

I see then. I wonder if this will be the last improvement? I hope not, so far each improvement has been more entertaining than the last.

I dub you Castlevania god. Great run, voted yes. I do wish there was a way to get those water physics off you. You would save a lot of time and the run would look way faster. Maybe you can skip glitching through that room?

Cool stuff indeed. It's probably a good idea to keep it on hold for a bit as it seems this game probably isn't near being 100% broken. It would suck if you were near finished with your TAS and you found another game breaking glitch.

Great job so far. I imagine this will be a Star run when it's finished. I'm surprised it's only 13 seconds faster so far, with those cool glitches and all. Anyway, keep it up! Edit: I wonder if G.Boost is worth buying. It might help set up some horizontal zipping at the top of some ceilings that you may not be able to reach normally. It also might save time in some regular situations. The faster ladder climb item might not be worth it though. Most of the time you will be constantly jumping up ladders which is probably faster anyway. I guess it might save time on small ladders where jumping up is slower, but I doubt it would make up for the time spent buying it/collecting bolts.

Nice voted yes not that it matters. If you plan on doing another Castlevania game you should do Bloodlines. It hasn't been done yet for some weird reason and it rocks.

Sometime in 04 I stumbled onto the site to watch the "amazing smb3" movie by Morimoto that someone posted in one the IRC channels I frequented. The rest is history.

I don't think I'm going to get that sword because while it may be faster, I consider it the same as the trick/debug thing on Mega Man 3 with the second controller. Plus I'd like to see the whole game completed.

I managed to beat the beat the Zombie Dragon, but the movie fucking desynced...gay. Oh well, I didn't lose too much, and it's annoying at best. I had a few minor mistakes anyway so I can change those. I'll post it here soon if it doesn't desync again.

Yeah, I would get arrows if I could actually manipulate them. There's also the fact collecting items is fairly slow in this game and you have to waste time waiting having to some spend time equipping them. I believe the game decides what items the enemies drop when you scroll the screen and there isn't much you can do.

I just started over on the newest version dega and beat the mummy dragon boss. Grab the movie Here. I improved a few minor things and I got the exact amount of coins I needed instead of getting extra that I won't need. One thing I know for sure is that the boomerang(s) is essential for a TAS if want to kill things while still moving. Also taking damage is a no no as it just slows you down. It seems to only be useful so far for getting knocked up which seems only useful in the falling block platform part in the intro stage.

Yeah I couldn't play my movie. I made a quick test movie and it played back ok so I guess my old movie isn't compatible. I didn't do much so I can always start over if need be.

I started working on it and finished the intro stage. Here it is. Lemme know if it desyncs or not. I used the Wonder Boy 3 - The Dragon's Trap (UE) [!] rom.
