I'm glad you've started to work on this again. I've seemed to get my motivation for TASing back now as well now that it looks like we'll have an accepted SMS emulator. On the topic of the Japanese version, it is indeed A LOT harder than the US version. It is also WAY slower especially in the Sims. The US version improved the Sims definitely at least as far as speed goes. If you are TASing the normal mode you should stick with the US version. Japanese prof mode might be interesting though.

Hey guys, just thought I should say I'll be working on this again now that we seem to have a SMS emulator that will be accepted for the site. I'll work on one more test run on the new emulator and then I'll do the real run if/when the emulator is finished and accepted.

So I assume this will obsolete JXQ's run. My question is will a glitchless movie be allowed? I assume it would have get the worst ending as we already have the best ending with the glitched one. Probably a best ending glitchless would be too similar and would make for too many runs for this game.

Pretty good stuff. I love all the glitches in this game. Although like Kaz said some of the movements could be much more optimized. I'm sure this won't be the last run of this game. (I hope it isn't at least)

Glad some interest in this sprouted up. If I can help in any way as far as routes go or any general information I'll be sure to post it here.

Wow the Juste run just got way crazier. That will totally change the route for a Juste run. I hope JXQ or someone else improves this with that glitch! *Crosses fingers*

Wind magic might even do more damage to him. I did about 40 some damage to him with the Large Cutter attack.

One thing you might want to do is put the text speed on max. I'm pretty sure you didn't do that though I wasn't paying that much attention. Do you think sub 2 hours is possible? There's A LOT of walking in this game so the shorter the better or it will get boring fast.

What a fucking weird game. I liked it well enough and Gex was published so this should be too.

Here is a strategy I came up with for Kasandora. It requires two turns of waiting at the end which I think is the minimum given current circumstances. It definitely is way less waiting than my published run.

Did you watch it? I went to the south east lair to the northwest lair then the south lair getting the population increase ones first.

Alright, I think I've found a good strategy for you to use for the Bloodpool sim. Check it out. It seems to be the optimal order to seal the lairs. If you do what I did in the movie and wait the extra turn at the end you'll have 534 total pop and that should minimize the waiting in Kasandora to 1-2 extra turns at most. I'll play ahead some and see for sure.

It looks good. Now it's time to start planning the Bloodpool sim. I think I found a better strategy, but I need to do some more testing.

Good stuff. I won't be surprised if I see you post Bloodpool Act 1 here soon as it's a easy level.

Looks pretty good, no complaints here. I wonder do you know how many extra people you get for those extra roads? I'm sure it's worth it if it's like 10-20 extra as it took hardly no extra time to do. Good luck on Fillmore Act 2 btw as that level is annoying. Atleast you can do some spike boosting now! OT: The forums are really slow for me for some reason...

Well it is a test run mainly to help zidanax with his real run so it doesn't really matter. The sims don't really need to be optimized anyway as I'm just showing the strategy for them.

I finished Bloodpool. I spent a long time on the A2 Bloodpool boss seeing if I could do it faster than the published run did. I came up with a good strategy that could beat him much faster but he is just 1 hit shy so he goes into his second form! Maybe you can find a way to get the extra hit in time. I spent a long time on that boss using FA so it might not be possible.. Edit: My Bloodpool A1 boss strategy went nicely though.

BTW zidanax, did you watch that last movie I posted all the way through? I played up to Act 2 Fillmore and did a spike knockback that saved about 20 frames or so I believe. There might be more places where it can be abused like that.

Figured out something I dunno if it will help though. Pretty much you can connect the road from Bloodpool to Fillmore without having to connect from Fillmore. They will still get wheat there. I hope this helps you any.

I'm working on a test run to see if I can find any good strategies for the Sims. I came up with a slightly different strategy for Fillmore. Check it out The main thing I changed was not using lightning on the bush I burned in my published run to make the bridge and seal the last lair. The way I did it here you get the same amount of people but less time spent waiting for the lightning and slightly less time building.

I might have some pride for finishing a TAS because I'm a lazy bastard, but I could care less if someone beats me to something or obsoletes my work. I was happy when Cardboard bested my CotM TAS because I love seeing my favorite games destroyed as much as possible. Likewise, zidanax is working on obsoleting my Actraiser run which makes me happy as it's very improvable. It's all about the games I say. Do it for the games, for entertainment for yourself and others, but don't do it so you can have your name on a site. I mean, what does it matter? You won't get chicks for having your name all over this site. TAS Nerd: Hey baby, wanna have some fun? Chick: Get lost. TAS Nerd: But I have 3 starred movies from tasvideos.org! *Chick walks away* TAS Nerd: Damn it! Well, atleast I made a save state and can try that again!

I would say get as many points as you can without wasting time. I doubt grinding enemies will be worth it.

So I guess 6 scrolls is optimal then? After watching a few of your boss demos it seems to be that way to me. You have to wait a while in Fillmore for that scroll in the woods. It includes waiting for 3 Thunders to hit and a lot of building lag. I'm sure you wouldn't gain back what you lost. I'm going to mess around with the Sims as well and see if I can find a good strategy that requires little to no waiting for population.
