Wait wait wait...there's TWO scrolls in Filmoa? Geezus. That makes for 7MP by the end of the game. Oh damn...now I'm gonna have to go back through my speedrun again. -_-;;
There are actually 8 MP scrolls. The 8th one you have to use the compass you get in Bloodpool (which you have to use the music box to trigger) and use it Maranha. The people will find it while fishing. I doubt it is worth the trouble though. Getting 7 MP scrolls might be worth it though. The one in Fillmore does take some time as well though, so we'll have to see.

Guess only way to tell for sure if that Fillmore scroll is worth it is to test how many frames it takes to get it then see if it saves more frames in the boss re-fights. I have a save file with all the magic scrolls at the very end of the game if you need it to test.

Sorry for suggesting this late, but I have a feeling skipping the other MP scroll in Fillmore is a bad idea. I believe you are going to have to spend time leveling up regardless, so I doubt it is a waste especially when you get a extra scroll. It would help the boss re-fights for sure. It will definitely help against the Act 2 Maranha boss which is one of the slowest fights. Anyway, here is the scroll I'm talking about. I tested some and it appears after you seal 3 of the 4 lairs that the event for getting the scroll won't trigger. I don't think VG got this one either. I do think even though it will make the Fillmore sim longer I believe it will be worth getting this because like I said; you will have to spend extra time anyway to level some. Also it would of course make the Act 2 Fillmore boss and the Act 1 Bloodpool bosses faster as you would have a extra magic to use. It would require some testing though.

Even though you aren't here yet, here's the exact spot to build to get the other scroll I missed in Kasandora.

Looks fine. I guess do what VG did for the sim unless you find a better strategy. I'm not sure mine was great here. I'll check out both runs and see. I guess I'm the only one interested in your progress.. :\ Edit: I believe I skipped a magic scroll here for some (dumb?) reason, so that's something you'll probably want for sure. It would definitely help in the boss re-fights. Edit: nvm I didn't skip the one here. It was Kasandora I think and I know it was Aitos where they find a scroll in the mountains.

Strangely looks like mine..only kidding it looks fine. It's not like there are many ways to do that level anyway. BTW, one thing I never tested when I worked on this is if it's faster to zoom the palace all the way out to move to each area. I guess you can see for sure.

Heh, thanks. :) I spent a long time on the action scenes. More than I did on the sims I think. That level is very annoying, especially the vertical platform part with those white bug things you have to kill or you'll get hit and knocked back. Maybe you can find a way to not have to waste time killing them. I doubt it though. Bloodpool A1 isn't as bad I don't think.

Okay, I watched it and it seems pretty good so far. I believe I skipped one or two magic scrolls that VG got in his speed run so you might want to look into that. I believe it might of been the one from Bloodpool and Kasandora. One annoying thing I think you might have trouble with is the magic stardust. It seems pretty random and you will want as much stars as you can to hit the bosses.

I'm glad someone is finally working on an improvement for this game. It needs it badly. I'll check out your WIP soon and give you feedback on it. I think 3-5 minutes could be saved as there are some big mistakes as far as playing goes and strategy. I did this at like 20% speed so you can save TONS of time using frame advance alone. For future reference, use the earthquake ASAP at Maranha and not kill everyone like I did in my TAS.*smacks head*

Wow that was amazing. This game seems faster and more entertaining than MK 64 so far. That could very well be because I've only seen 1 track so far in MK 64 so we'll see. Keep it up!

That glitch sounds pretty cool and it works with Juste! It sounds like skipping the Bolt book is a option. That would make the run look much more fluid as having to do half of that ball maze again doesn't look that great. I hope somebody (JXQ?) improves this soon!

Thanks for the feedback. I have just tried the first mission with the hints suggested. I played it back and it desynchs after 1200 frames! I then did another quick run, it desynchs after 3000 frames! Can't quite understand this myself?
Did you try deleting the Command and Conquer .FLA file in your mupen directory? That should help. It should be noted that I and a few people could watch my test run when they deleted that file, though some still had problems so I dunno. I'd like to work on this, but I've lost any motivation I have for doing TASes right now and the game isn't exactly easy to TAS. There are many different ways to do the later missions. Edit: If you guys bug me enough maybe I'll finish the test run, but I'll leave the real one for someone else or till I really am motivated.

Looking forward to this, but I have one question. Can't you use SGB or something for this game? Black and White is FTL...

Wow, and this was just published! (I really want to see an improvement to JXQ's HoD now.. :) ) Edit: Definitely the most entertaining of all the CotM TASes so far. There is more flow to the run because you skip two saves. Obvious Yes.

Go for it, should be interesting. I'm guessing you'll want as much +STR equipment as possible that doesn't waste too much time getting. Cross spam will end most boss fights fairly quickly.

I recall an interesting glitch in this game that may be exploitable. Use the start menu to warp to some checkpoint, then, before emerging, enter the frog cheat (you should be able to find it on gameFAQs. It's an ingame cheat, not a gameshark one). This will turn you into a frog with all of glover's normal porperties. However, if you jump up on the ball, the ball becomes capable of floating over pits for some reason.

I've never played it so all I can give is my support. It looks like a pretty cute and decent game. Will it get more interesting as it goes on?

Awesome/10..Yes vote. Well if you feel up to it Fractal, feel free to work on MMX 100%. I have lost my motivation to do any TASes right now and you're a better TASer than me so it would be better off for it.
