I wouldn't expect that because Bisqwit said it isn't allowed. I guess we are back to square one.

Sloppy test run finished. I forgot to get the magical sword to form blocks when I could. Oh well, it doesn't matter much. Now I'll start working on a route and calculate how much gold I need. Even though Bisqwit won't accept movies made from DrSMS it doesn't hurt to have this planned out and ready if we ever get a real recording SMS emulator. Edit: Sub 35 minutes is very realistic I think..maybe 30..

I don't see how being able to see more games that have a demand to be TASed = a bad thing. I agree with Truncated about the no solution thing. Sure DrSMS doesn't emulate it perfectly, but you have to start from something. Maybe if we have some DrSMS runs up here someone will finally work on a real good SMS rerecording emulator. Also we starting taking VBA runs when they lagged all over when it was first introduced when we shouldn't. Just citing a past example. Mupen is complete crap as well, yet we accept movies on it. DrSMS at least on the games I've tried works way better than Mupen.

Put down the games you want to see. I'll start: Space Harrier Sonic (maybe?) Black Belt Wonder Boy III (I'm working on this) Phantasy Star

Well, I'll try to finish today then we can start planning a route and calculate exactly how much gold I need and how best to get that gold. I'll need most of the gold after I beat the Mecha Dragon to be able to buy the first armor and sword. I won't need gold after that for a long while so possibly I'll get some entering the legendary sword room again as there's plenty in there.

Well, I just got the thunder sword which you need to break blocks. I was able to do that fly glitch with the piranha man while in the lava which allowed me fly above all the lava and hence skip having to wear the heat resistant dragon armor, so that was nice. I'm guessing I'll be able to own the next Dragon very easily as I have the best sword in the game. Edit: Pirate Dragon dead. Legendary sword at this point is FTW. Three hit kill on the boss is nice.

Thanks noted. It's been awhile I don't remember, but the mouse man can't equip the legendary sword right? I recall you have to use him in the final dungeon. Maybe It won't matter either way though, because I might not need to use him long enough for it to matter. It's nice that money and stones aren't a big issue now. I guess I'll want boomerangs and especially arrows to speed up those first two long boss fights.

Two bosses down now. Apparently I might not need any stones as equipping the Legendary Armor lets me buy the Shield (and I assume the rest of the items from the shop). The Zombie Dragon boss takes a long time to kill. If I can actually get Arrows when I want them it will speed up the first two boss fights tremendously. I also just remembered I can pick up items with the Boomerangs so that would probably save time picking up stuff from enemies. Can anyone help figure out how to manipulate items in this game?

I managed to do that trick with the Pirahna to reach the Ruined Castle. I'm having a problem trying to manipulate stones off enemies though. I think the game decides on all the drops when you enter the screen. Perhaps I'll have to delay some frames before I enter the next screen to get what I want...

My thought is assuming this is published, is that if we ever have a real SMS emu with rerecording and this game is done, it should obsolete this one.

First boss dead. I abused the boomerang a bunch as it rocks against normal enemies I've found. I could of killed the first boss quicker if had more arrows. I'm not sure if I can manipulate items easy. I tried for a bit and didn't have luck. Oh well, I'll fool with it later. If I can figure out how to get the magic I want I'll have to spend less time farming money for equipment I think. An annoying thing about this game is there are a lot of situations that cause you to delay or you get hit. There are quite a few of these already.

Prelude is done. Download DrSMS 6.00 here and patch Wonder Boy 3 - The Dragon's Trap(UE) [!].sms to play it. I'm going to try to figure out the RNG for this game. Any help on that would be appreciated. If I can manipulate the spells I want and get Max gold off monsters, it should speed the run up a lot. Edit: Fixed mistake.

Well not 'technically' a GBA game, it's possible to do a TAS on this as shown by Xebra with his WB II run. I might concider doing this as it's one of my favorite games ever. DR. SMS seems to emulate this game better than WB II from what I've played. The sound isn't nearly as bad. I'll probably work on a test run soon and try to figure out much money I'll need and if I can manipulate spells and max gold off enemies. I wouldn't get my hopes up though, as who knows if it will accepted. I guess wait and see what happens to Xebra's run.

Here is me playing Actraiser 2. This is one cheap ass game so I play on the PAL version which actually has a somewhat fair normal difficulty. I actually do better than usual and I finish the game in around 01:26:25. Almost all of the deaths I have are because this game is so cheap.. (If only they kept the Sims, then the game might be pretty good.)

Wtf leave the game alone. It was perfectly fine as it was and PSP gives me another reason to not get it. I'll stick with PCE emu.

Here is me playing Mega Man X 1.1. I get all the upgrades minus the Hadoken and I do it in 01:01:43. I die like twice and those deaths shouldn't have happened. Oh well.. I handled Sigma way better than I usually do and I played way more risky. I still had two Sub Tank's left to use. (I usually have to use them all.) Edit: I forgot to mention that I show you how a real man utilizes Armored Armadillo's weapon.

Oh man my first TAS to get obsoleted! Nice job on improving this by that much as I thought I did a pretty good job on mine. I didn't think it could be improved more than 15 seconds. I'll watch this ASAP. Edit: Yes vote as expected. The slightly different route and the Cotton Robe definitely big oversights by myself, and also Dracula's second form seemed to be done a bit better. Mad props <3. Now someone improve my Actraiser run because it really sucks by todays standards. One might be able to save 5 minutes or more.

I know you aren't near Kraid yet, but I thought throw out these possible damage boost time savers. You could use lower spikes as well, but if you don't have enough health for any of these boosts this is meaningless.

Looks good so far Hero. BTW, back when I tried TASing this I think I found a slightly faster way to bomb that one wall that leads to Brinstar. Here is a quick and unoptimized movie to show you what I mean. I think it was 3 frames faster or so I forgot.

Forte or Mega Man? I've already said it enough, but I'd rather see the Forte run improved. Though a Mega Man run by the looks of it seems like it will be as entertaining.

That's a pretty cool trick. I hope somebody is planning to do this! Seems like it would be worth getting those weapons first if you can abuse this everywhere like that.
