no BIOS accuracy improvements and HLE of CGB-DMG colors (restoring to original Gambatte behavior of hacking in the post BIOS state)
What does this mean exactly? The improvements got reverted for sync or something?

Any plans to bring back the rewind frequency and speed options? They were kinda nice.

I know I'm too late here, but I just wanted to point out that despite claims online that to unlock stage 9, you just have to A rank the previous 8 stages, it isn't actually true. I think it would be smarter to just TAS the "single run" stage with a password. But seems all the interest for the game vanished over the years so it doesn't really matter. Oh well.

Found a dumb glitch during my casual playthrough which lead to a more major skip... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9CU5fPBRGY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Adqg3l48U No exact idea how to do it, but it's rather precise. Don't really like how the game has dynamic memory and I suck at finding pointers. Also sucks solarplex has gone missing.

If a DRM crack is to be used, the two problems I'd see with it is whether there's more than one version of a crack and what kind of changes the modification actually does to bypass the DRM. If important functions are poked that change the behavior of the game, I'd find that a gray area. Would require someone to actually reverse engineer cracks to make sure or perhaps make their own.

Damn, I was actually struggling with that avi problem on 98.16 a while back around June last year. Ended up using OBS to record it, which resulted in awful audio. Good to see this working now. Made a 4k of JXQ's Shatterhand TAS for memes. Link to video

Sweet find with that 1.0/1.1 dragon thing. I'm a sucker for all kinds of version differences despite the annoyances they can cause. Just wish there was some easier way to find them :(
I'm a little annoyed at the fact that VBA skips the LCD lag and every time I want to improve an old run, I have to accept the fact I'm going to be slower than the old run. This aspect kills my motivation to improve Super Mario Land, to name an example. Because putting in hours and hours of work to have a run that's 5 seconds slower is not worth it.
I can see how this could be annoying, what with the whole concept of pushing a time down as far as possible, but I'd personally be more satisfied knowing my inputs are more accurate to a real console rather than the awful mess that is VBA. Of course I've no clue how well Game Boy games can be console verified at this time, but I believe those really help show how much better it is to aim for accurate emulation. Of course there's the games like SM64 that don't care about lag and can play inputs back from bad emus like mupen, sigh... Nice improvements to an already optimized TAS still. Waitin' for Superstar Saga next

This game leaked a while back and there's been a few (rather useless) finds. Mugg asked me to make a topic so I figured why not. Here is a spreadsheet I made to keep track of current finds. So far this game feels really solid, but I'm hoping that like others games, this one will reveal some tech later on that will break it. The engine seems to behave rather similar to vanilla Superstar on GBA in that going out of bounds wants to eject you south east unlike the other 3DS M&L games. The room id's look to be similar between the two games though the test rooms seem to have been removed. I think a couple bean spots were also relocated along with a few items. MarioWiki's page will probably be the most comprehensive one to list all the changes to this game, though a more in-depth one detailing stat changes or item changes could be something to consider. Notably to speedruns, the two Mush Badges were moved from Little Fungitown's shop to 2 item Moles. Mush A is in a whirlpool area and AA is in Lemmy's section in Bowser's Castle. They were also considerably nerfed from what I checked, though exact calculations need to be done. I'll keep this post updated if some new finds come up. And no, Bowser's Minions isn't worth talking about.

Link to video I made a 720p "encode" via OBS just for preservations sake, though there seems to be some graphical errors I couldn't figure out. Ah well. Oh, and yes commentary included.

Link to video 2) is probably this "wrong warp" horizontal "zip" I found in Transylvania I assume? The kinda shitty part is that the death makes it only barely faster than just doing the climb normally from what I tested. (apparently saves bout .5 secs or so) You spawn in the next room and the death happens afterwards. Due to that, I wouldn't exactly say the death is used to save time but it's just a side effect of the zip. Regardless, I was wondering if anyone was gonna improve the TAS after the Garuzia strat was figured out, so it's nice to see you're picking it back up again Dooty :) I was planning on posting about this wall skip here but forgot about it...

Link to video I made a temp encode (first time trying, so it's pretty bad, the res I've no clue about either)
