No I understand the purpose very well and have been following this site for over a year. If that were the case their woudln't be full runs of games because everyone would be using warps, because not using warps is boring and uninspiring, not only that, it means you don't have to "think" as much.....

Its fine by me not to complete the run, I find the power ups making it even easier, its not hard to spawn the correct one with a chest, but you know, if you think that simplifies the game more by all means, have it your way. I don't understand how this game is boring to watch to begin with.

http://www.geocities.com/pasky13/SG_Pasky_WIP_1.zip My first work in progress, keep in mind I know I made numerous mistakes. I never understood why no one made a speed run of this game as it was incredibly hard and doing a Tool assisted run would look great getting no damage and no power ups which is what I intend to do. So I took it upon myself and just did the first stage. Any pointers will be helpful as I never played the game much and just winged everything. Thanks.

Im trying to set the save snapshot to R2 on my psx controller and it says it is set to that but when I try to use it in game nothing happens. Is this not possible yet? Thanks.

HuGo I believe is open source and has very accurate emulation. While Rondo of Blood is a great game and one of my favorites, their are just so many others out there that would look great as speed runs including lords of thunder, valis series, bonk (1,2,3). Despite its unpopularity here in the states, it was very popular in Japan there are a lot of great games for it

I forgot all about this game, I would play it religously and could never beat it when I was younger, to this day I still cannot beat it. The controls are extremely difficult and I think a time attack would look awesome. Anyone up for it? :)

I don't think you choose the fastest path since there's warp in this game.

I think its a great vid however, I feel you shouldn't have gotten a lot of the fruit because it takes time at the end to tally your score the higher you time bar is, you should keep it as low as possible, great run however.

Hahaha, I remember being like that when I first came to this site. I also thought Tool assisted just meant playing on an emulator. First video I watched was the metroid run with 14% of item collection. I was amazed and was like damn, this guy must compete hardcore in tournaments. Then I watched one of super contra and was like holy crap, must be a lot of people who compete. Im pretty good but these people are gods. Then I got skeptic and started reading more and I felt much better about my skills afterwards hahaha.

I don't have the time to dedicate to a tool assisted speed run but would love to see one made of this game that used the zapper. I used to play it quite often as a kid and would find it ridiculously interesting to see someone breeze through it. :)

Any plans to make any Tg16/PC-Engine emulators to allow movie making and frame advance? I'd love to make some time attacks at some of my old TG16 games and even my super cd games. Any plans in the work to possibly hack/build either magic engine, hugo, or the other one :)???
