I got rid of the extra code I was using to debug with and added the boxes that show where you can jump on enemies and platforms, I couldn't find congo's collision for that box, I think it's just his y - 1. http://pastebin.com/dBzPccbi Probably the last of what I'll work on this.

Link to video I see we're still not voting on whether to accept submissions out of the vault and just relying solely on judgement...=/

I'm not at the point where I would leave the site over something so stupid. But I really do hate the idea of giving notoriety to someone who doesn't even contribute to the site. I have no issues with the AVGN guy, if people like them, that's there thing and I really don't care what others like. But, I dunno, it just rubs me the wrong way knowing people put a lot of work into TAS's to be lumped into a category they didn't want to be in to begin with. That's my feelings on it.

"I pressed A on frame #396 Step 2: I pressed A on frame #498 Step 3: I pressed <^>v on frame #461" So this run crashes the game by going backwards in time to press all four directions at once? Yeah, the programmers must have been really careless making this one... I know pressing opposite directions is widely accepted here, but when it introduces new glitches into the game that wouldn't otherwise exist its just stupid IMO--this should be viewed as a hardware limitation, i.e. something where emulation is going beyond what the system actually allows.
You're in the wrong place if you think that's stupid...

Just describe key strategies and why you do certain things and separate it per stage. I.E. I jumped at the boss because this saved 2 frames versus not jumping (obviously you don't have to describe everything).

Checkout the SD2SNES source. There is an information dialogue in the main menu that spits out the same information (PPU #, etc...) if you're looking to see how the game gets the information.

Agreed, this is completely irrelevant to the site.

This run is not submission worthy. I ask it be rejected because there was a lot of mistakes made, jumps and such were not optimized and it's just overall sloppy. Please reject as the quality is poor.

I'm unsure, this is just an amateurish approach anyways, it's by no means anything accurate. I think regardless of whether the frame rate is variable or not, the important matter is they are all captured at the same frame rate. As far as labeling a mednafen core mednafen, I don't see the issue. I never hid the fact that It was from retroarch and screw quicktime.

Yes, I totally agree. This was not meant to be the deciding factor in accuracy, just merely my own curiosity of how emulators run (timing wise) versus the console running the same game. This probably isn't really an accurate way of doing it either because I'm capturing with a crappy dazzle. It's just a rough estimate really, haha.

I wish that guy would leave like he said he would. He repeatedly comes into an emulator topic, complains about an issue ONLY he has with the emulator, can't resolve it and therefore the emulator sucks, he's not a noob, and he will continue to use snes9x and leave the forums. All he does is waste time and effort for those trying to be helpful and derail topics. Rinse, wash, and repeat.

Soldier Blade: Link to video There's some artifacting on all 3 videos during the tech sheet cutscenes of the ship due to using a deblink function (from the encoders sub-forum). I captured mednafen using retroarch but was unable to find the correct cropping for it so it's slightly off from bizhawk and the console footage. Bizhawk seems to change the screens color when the console and mednafen don't (such as around 0:03, 6:50, and a few others). Not sure why, it happens during screen transitions sometimes throughout the entire video. Overall timing seems to be precise with console for both emu's with this game.

Cadash: Link to video Both emu's bit faster than console, about 10-12 frames faster by the end of the video. Also, an interesting note is that Bizhawk loads the Taito logo seperately and then the next frame the "Working Designs" logo appears. On console and Mednafen they both load at the same time. You can see this at the very start of the video at 0:00.

I would if I had access to AVI dumping with it....maybe retroarch uses a later core. For now I'll encode with what I have already dumped using pce-jin.

Bonk 3: Link to video I made an error with PCE-Jin's cropping. I believe PCE-JIN uses mednafen for emulation? I have a couple other games I did but haven't gotten around to uploading, overall, it looks good with both emu's being slightly faster than console by a small amount of frames at the end of the video.

Link to video Something interesting to note in this video. At around 5:17 yoshi turns a corner and gets hit in the BSNES clip, but in the Snes9x 1.52 (and the 1.43 which happens quite a few seconds before the other 3) and Console no hit is taken. There may be more of these occurrences, but I didn't look thoroughly.
