For the fun on it I'm starting a gold run that uses the bad clone map distortion route. Will be a good reference as to what route is faster (I'm guessing the route in this movie)
I'm 99% sure there's a faster way to do map distortion type stuff than the way used in the RTA route, just that no one's investigated it deep enough to have any idea how it is controlled, so it won't be a definitive 'coin case is faster' vs 'map distort is faster'. But yes, I'm interested in how such a TAS would look :D

Are plurals ending in s still always s'?

There are some games where two different buttons do the same job (advancing through text, menus, whatever it is you're thinking about). In those games you can alternate between the two buttons and get frame perfect everything.
(Even better case - in Paper Mario, all you have to do to skip text frame perfect is hold down one button. Perfect for RTA speedruns!)
Did some progress, actually at making the robot glitch. But it's very hard to understand how to do it even not optimally..

I think 'realistic' shaders are really cool, but for tasvideos encodes are overkill. After all, I don't think many developers of early console/handheld games intended for their games to be coupled with hardware limitations of the time in terms of looks, even if that's how most people will remember them.
I never played the first paper mario game, but how do speedrunners classify "100%"?
Timing starts after starting new file. Timing ends when THE END moves to the bottom right. 100% requires all Star Pieces, Badges, Recipes, and all fully upgraded partners. Must beat every chapter and physically touch each Star Spirit Card. Must get the Diploma from the Dojo. Duping items is not allowed.
