Is there any other trick that are jap/US only (and useful) for the no A press ?
In JP only you can create the 100 coin star multiple times, because your number of counts wraps around after you get 65535. This used to save an a press in getting to the top of whomp's fortress, but luckily a strategy that doesn't require days of playing straight was discovered. It might be useful elsewhere though?

me and my team are working on a Hard Rest Save Glitch to gain Total Control on PSX, so we could take Total Control on PSX in like less that 1 minute and beat the game in under 3-5... kinda similar to what is done on Pokemon.
Do you have any evidence that this approach might work, or is it an investigation only?

It utilizes gif's loop only once feature. You can download it, then resave it in GIMP with the options "Loop forever" ticked to see it loop over and over. :P
Or, you know, refresh the page.
Is there a reason why Rat didn't set them to loop forever? Data limitations, perhaps? Because, you know, it's a real bummer if you have to refresh the page one time for each GIF that you want to view, since there are several in this thread.
Non looping vs looping gifs are identical size. It's just that a single bit in the gif tells it to be viewed as non looping or as looping.

mtvf1, there isn't a requirement for starred TASes to be optimal. For example, TheYogWog's S3&K Knuckles Ring Attack is very far from optimized, but it still has a star due to entertainment level: http://tasvideos.org/2593M.html

I'm not a fan of the idea in this case since it has neither 1440p nor 60fps
60fps? Isn't SM64 30fps anyway?

UV and Nightmare are IMO sufficiently different that they both warrant a TAS.

It took a while, but FF1 has finally joined the elite inner circle of games that are truly broken.

Aren't mupen desyncs notorious for being computer-dependent? Maybe sonicpacker has just the right computer speed and everyone else doesn't.

TAS input file should end as soon as the game will run to full completion without further input. (Check out the Donkey Kong Country TAS for example - you end input early and the boss kills itself with no further input) Encodes of your TAS will run until credits are complete, so don't worry about that part.

The TAS was started a year ago...I think Bizhawk did not even have N64 support a year ago. BTW homerfunky, you may use 'preview' instead of submitting an edit, to see if the edit does what you want.

Well, if the routes are the same, you could make a normal ending TAS, submit that, and then continue from the end and make the special ending TAS.

How is it a mistake to not do damage boosts in a 'No Damage' TAS?

Does a TAS that goes to floor 100 play the first 60 floors differently?

Btw, I'm going to bring it up - this TAS for a star? It takes a game that is very well known and has very strong competition for WRs in every chapter and pushes it even further beyond what the greatest superplay could dream of doing.
