Update: I tested running this game on Octoshock (PSXHawk). It went through the Merlin/first clock cutscene as well as the end-of-stage scenes with Merlin with no problems, so I'm assuming it will work for the rest of the game as well. Looks like TASing this game will finally be possible.
Woah! Sick!

If anyone needs stuff to test on GBA emulators, go to this page http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/GBx/MarioAndLuigiSuperstarSaga.html and look for all the glitches/setups that are like 'this works differently on emulator than on console' and see which behaviour it matches.

Has anyone checked the Abe games to make sure the work on PSXhawk? They have problems on PSXJn and Feos fixed it in PCSX.

Could you make a detailed explanation of the 'chip enemies before homing missiling them' mechanic, and how to maximize point gain using it? A few people I talked to were confused about how exactly it works. How many shots should you fire? Should you use same colour or different colour? If you only half overlap with an enemy you hit it with only one half of your shot, is this useful to get more points?
Well, I took a look at it again, and I couldn't get any difference in points between using the shot, the laser or both to kill enemies. So it must have been a mistake in the first place, you cannot get different points by how you kill enemies, sorry. Basically, one shot gives 10 points when on the same color and 20 for opposite color. One laser gives 100 points for same color if it doesn't kill the enemy, 200 points for opposite color. If the enemy has low heath, the laser gives the amount of points depending on the remaining heath.
Ok, got it. Shame, it was a cool sounding mechanic :)

I didn't understand your question, can you elaborate more?
You can use the PI glitch to get 256 different values, right? Has everyone tested each of these values, documented the effects and made a list of it all?

I thought that was only a softlock? Btw, how does the crash in that nicovideo TAS work? I have no way to translate the japanese explanation (well, I'd have to transcribe it into unicode - and as non japanese speaker that will take forever)

Did you just placed "nonluck" and "randomized" at the same sentence? How does that work? :|
Let me explain. In Prismata, some units can be played every game (such as Wall), but many units are not always available. At the start of the game, an RNG is used to make a list of these optional units. Both players get access to this list of optional units, and then RNG is never called again. It's like if you played chess but before the game began, randomized all the non-pawn pieces and gave both players the same configuration. Randomized start, nonluck gameplay.

Are you running a 32-bit OS? If so, the latest versions of Dolphin are only 64 bit, so you'll need to upgrade.

Chip's Challenge? Nice... I remember playing this a lot on Windows back in the day. Isn't it possible to skip levels by dying enough times in them? Could that be used as a time saving strategy?
Yeah you can skip levels if you die enough in a lot of games. You usually ban that technique in speedruns because it's really boring for both the runner and the audience. Who wants to see how fast you can NOT do any content in the game? (I mean, you could always just enter the password for the last level then beat only one level. Obviously that's not going to be interesting too.)

Feels equivalent to using the Golden Torizo code in Super Metroid to me.
