Thanks for making this! Finally tasvideos has the Deadly Towers TAS it deserves. Yes vote Btw:
(and burning MORE than five steadily glitches out your inventory and the game, itself!).
Is it powerful enough for ACE in Deadly Towers? ;) You should put in the TAS description a picture or video demonstrating it getting glitched out more and more. I recall it looks really funny.

I wonder. is it possible to use ACE to program in the original NES castlevania? :) there is a PSX nes emulator, adn it CAN play castlevania i'm pretty sure.
If you can fit it into RAM (I'm assuming that's all that's available to rewrite) and it works on PSX then you should be able to do it.

It's finally here. Is it considered ACE?
This is classic ACE. The names of the pokemon in the box are executed as code.

Do you end up having more "kills" in the "0 boss" run?
Almost every boss skip in 0 boss involves killing something to open a shiftline/reverse shiftline off of its level up. There's no restriction on killing enemies in 0 boss, so you'll also kill a bunch of them to get them out of your way.

Presumably the alternate run would be a City of Gold run. But I have trouble believing that the game isn't trivializable even without the Teleporter; you just need to manipulate layouts so you can fall to the bottom of the level, and then grab a ledge to avoid going splat. Maybe you'd have to pause from time to time to toss a bomb. Frankly I doubt there's a set of rules you can use that makes a TAS look anything like normal play. Level layout manipulation is just too powerful (and/or the generator is too able to give easy layouts).
Can't wait for Solo Eggplant low% TAS

Notably in the PSP version of SotN you CAN chain a single item with itself using a PSP specific 'feature'/glitch: Link to video

can anyone beat cosmos wr with a TAS?
His WR is 12 seconds slower than his sum of best splits, and his sum of best splits is ~1 minute slower than the TAS, which is ~20 seconds slower than an updated TAS would be, which is ~30 seconds slower than the TAS would be if it could be/was done on a faster console (VC or iQue)

I don't understand. What does it mean "when it seems like something substantial has been fixed in it"? I tried different configs, but nothing has been fixed.
He means, if the emulator get updated and it fixes your bug, let a bizhawk dev know and they can update Bizhawk

Nice job! I enjoyed seeing the updated Pacifist TAS. I think it would be worth submitting, though you should submit it as pacifist/level 1 if you do (to clarify that what pacifist means is never levelling up as well as remaining at 0 beat). It's come a long way since arukAdo's route/TAS, and incorporates a lot of cool glitches/skips you don't see in other routes. Ultimately up to you, of course.

As long as there's no differences between you and RTA runners because you don't have a memory card to save on, it should be fine. (After all, Super Metroid TASes have to watch the intro!)

Heh, I actually found that a couple months ago but I didn't post it because I was planning on secretly doing some runs to beat Dragondarch's time. Unfortunately my NES conked out on me and I haven't bothered to replace it yet, so I put any runs on hold.
Lame! Speedrun tech is meant to be shared :)

Nyet 3 could be interesting. It's a Tetris-with-challenges game, except the challenges include things like "snakes depositing blocks on the playfield" and "barriers that open and close across the middle of the field", and you can buy items to make some of the challenges easier -- except that items are expensive so you can't clear every or even most of the challenges by cheesing them with items. Or maybe it'd just be a dull puzzle-game TAS. Who knows.
It's a DOS game, so here is a more appropriate wishlist for it. I watched the video, and this looks like it'd make a really interesting TAS! Of course, it would be a labour of love to make.

Kinda curious now after watching it and partway through the extra levels one. I saw you occasionally end a level with a TNT bomb when passing an otherwise inaccessible level end sign, but this makes me wonder how many milliseconds could be shaved off the ending if you used TNT right as the sign comes into view, rather than waiting for it to come into range of your gun? Obviously, it's not something that works for all levels since most of the time the game's kinda stingy with the stuff, but in some of them you end up with a surplus of TNT, and gut instinct is telling me there's probably optimizations that could come from that.
Did you read 'Aiming for in-game time' section of TAS description?

I don't agree. At that point, runs will be allowed if a certain RAM initialization allows lots of entertainment value, at which point, you're not using a <insert_console> and you're just hacking things to hell.
But if you have to disclose all ram initialization you specified, then it'll become really obvious that it relies too much on it and people will vote 'no'
