Zero parts make it the best ending run, but all items is still all items (including the Shoryuken). Would anyone wish 809M to be called 100% as a branch?
IMO it doesn't need to be changed, but we can clutter up a different thread about that instead of this one. :)

huh, it doesn't have the branch "100%" on it... interesting... I wonder how many 100% TASes we have doesn't have the branch 100% on it... or is there a specific reason I'm not seeing. Anyways, No Vote.
It's not labelled as 100% because any% == 100% in MMX2, kind of like how you don't label any% as low% in games where any% == low%

Dancing helicopters, humiliated tanks and graphical messes. I couldn't ask for more from an A7800 TAS! Yes vote. Also, from your description of the graphics glitch and its effects, it might be possible to do ACE in it (it reminds me of the SMB3 ACE method). It's worth investigating for sure!

Hi! Clock Tower is a great survival horror point-and-click adventure video game, it's short so I think it won't be that much a problem, I wonder though if any bugs can be exploited to finish the game fast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clock_Tower_%281995_video_game%29 I hope someone can TAS this game, it will be very nice :D
There are Clock Tower TASes on nicovideo. Try searching for the game's japanese name and the tag TAS

Spend All Of Your Money I already made two separate lists of 'games that are on sale that I noticed': https://crawl.develz.org/tavern/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12830 for roguelikes and roguelikelikes and rogue(like^n)s. http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50691 for shmups. But it's pretty ridiculous now. Something like 50% of all games in Steam are at some level of discount, so if you have a type of game in mind, you can probably get it cheaper right now!

I know this is unrelated to the current conversation, but... Since SMW is playable on Super Smash Brothers Brawl, is it possible to use ACE there to control brawl?
Only if there's a bug in the emulation. After all, there's no risk of an ACE TAS unleashing a virus on your Windows or Linux machine just because it can rewrite the game the emulator is emulating.

Sweet! Glad you're still around and watched my run. Another glitch has been found in the last area, you can use the armadillo to push yourself out of bounds if it's laying beneath you when you're standing on those things on the ground that pop up after you hit them, skips most of the dungeon by going from the start to the water bit. Also, Evilduckk on twitch has routed 100% and done a few runs if you want somewhere to start with that. I'll be playing centy at SGDQ on monday if you're interested in watching btw

Huh, but I thought the 12 minute run of MM was obsoleted by the 1 minute run because the 12 minute run also used ACE in the big glitches, just not to its full potential? ^^;

What were you thinking of doing instead? Kill Richter and library card out so the bad ending doesn't start?

Voted no. Fighter TASes should go for entertainment over speed. It's amusing how you basically play chicken with the ring out timer, but only a few times.

that's what real-time runners do, they use the cloud glitch to get a cloud (main effect) without using ACE (side-effect), and they don't try to use it.
It's not that they "don't try" to use ACE. ACE in general is literally impossible for a human being to do in real time on a console with an unmodded stock controller. If it WAS possible, RTA runners wouldn't just be satisfied with getting the cloud and still being able to play, they'd be trying to call the credits early in every run.
But they would also use the cloud only as an item - and that would be a different category, because it would avoid ACE.
Well, there's no category where you do the save corruption in pokemon yellow then don't immediately warp to credits. And there's no category in SotN where you do save corruption then don't immediately warp to credits.

In an unrelated note, I do have an emulator that runs the game reasonably well and has TAS tools (although lacks reset recording and thus cannot do a full game run). I am planning a few short, unoptimized demonstrations of some routes and tricks that a full TAS would use, so maybe expect those in the next few weeks.
Can't wait! :)

1. As Masterjun said before‚ getting the cloud doesn't require ACE (looks like some people didn't get it‚ I can understand that it's not obvious). So you can get the cloud and not use ACE‚ because avoiding ACE is one of the aims of the "warps" category.
Masterjun wrote:
The glitch always jumps to open bus. The reason why the game can continue is just because it managed to get back to the normal code again, but the fact that it executed open bus makes it not different from the ACE run. So you could say: "If you get the cloud you might as well get directly to the credits."
Maybe don't misquote Masterjun in the future ;) If it helps to think about it this way: Real time runs that use the clouds are actually attempts at the 'arbitrary code execution' category, except the most they can do with it is get the cloud because they're weak meatbags that can't jump to the credits in real time. So we already have a TAS that's the same category as this route - it's the 44 second TAS Masterjun already submitted!

Oh, this is actually the sequel to 'Another Perspective'. I was hoping for a TAS of Perspective ( that's this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSy9_g6G9P8 ) and got excited XD The third level in your testrun looks slow (if you jump to the key earlier you won't lose frames waiting to fall on it before being able to turn around), but I guess you knew already.

Thanks, I'll have a look during the weekend and see if I can find something wrong here.
OK. You can look at the source code for the game too, if it helps. (If you discover anything, it will probably be something common to all SDL using games, since it just uses SDL + SDL_image for graphics things and rand() for randomness.) Edit: Lol, looking through the sourcecode, it looks like it has a commented out replay scheme - open levelblit.c and ctrl+f RECORDING and PLAYBACK. Wouldn't be good enough for TASing without re-recording, but neat.
