W E L P Link to video Sub 9 achieved by Ctrlaltdelicious with a bad first run, so it could go much faster. With how rapidly the 'gameplay' is disintegrating, it seems for the best that you also do 100% no death TAS before this ;)

Pokemon is distinguished by having low penalty for failure and actions that revert progress being difficult to achieve. e.g. it's a babby game (wait until gyms 7 and 8 though, I don't see how that could be done in a thousand years under anarchy!)

I'm happy to see the revised run is in the works! :) I'm guessing it will save half an hour with all the new tech combined.

Wouldn't making the verification movie take a small fraction of the time the polished TAS would take? Also, it is a bad idea to be rude towards one of the best speedrunners of the game you are TASing. Just saying~

HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO MAKE THIS GAME SHIT ITSELF SO MUCH?!
Honestly, you barely even have to try to find something broken XD The screen warp glitch and wrong warp glitch are way too strong. There's an entertaining series on Youtube where a guy takes a glitchy route through the game (similar to the TAS but not as jam packed) and calls it a Let's Play and commentates as though this is how he played it as a kid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3uzz1xlaqU

If you do not quit and reload the game, it does not clear some data about the room you died the most in that game session. (So it's a really boring bug.) edit: WUT new WR?

New WR by 2 seconds. Using double intermission skip route. (I guess it became faster again?) Link to video

I think it is literally memory corruption, you go so far out of bounds that you are 'in' the game's RAM (ala dawn of sorrow, super mario land 2, etc)

W E L P http://www.twitch.tv/tewtal/c/3971198 Thanks to Total, x-ray OoB and space/time beam are now equally strong glitches. This makes low% glitched 1 % lower and might lead to an improvement for any% glitched no GT code (I also think this officially makes x-ray OoB a 'memory corruption' glitch, so 'any% no memory corruption' succintly bans both and so on)

You really don't. It'd be the same as the TAS but: -The ghosts would take longer to vacuum up (same strategy though). -You have to do a tutorial first Nicovideo encode now up to 82k views.

There are some unoptimal parts. For example, at 1:01 you should have jumped earlier, so that the jump that mattered (off the one block higher ledge) was done earlier as well, then it should have been curved so you reached the higher ledge with as much leftward velocity as possible ('cutting the corner'), then you clipped the corner and lost your downward velocity on the way to the door (a later jump would have let you go to the door faster). Based on just that I think there is still simple 2D platforming heuristics improvements to be done. Similarly at 1:54 you should be cutting it as close to the corner of the ceiling with as much rightward velocity as possible when you're coming down with the receding lava. (For example, by taking a running start off the pillar rather than just dropping down meekly.) Since this is only a 2 minute long run, you should take the time to go over every room with a frame advancing, frame-count-checking comb until it's difficult for you to save any more frames anywhere in the room. It won't take you long and tasvideos submissions should be high quality. For the people saying 'this is a demo, so shouldn't be published': If it remains a separate game from the full game, as opposed to being expanded into the full game, then I think it is OK for this to be TASed. (For example, MGS V Ground Zeroes, if it were TASable, would be acceptable on tasvideos, even though it's just a prelude to a much larger game that will be entirely different. There's probably a better example, but you get the idea.)

Here's the RTA WR, for reference http://www.twitch.tv/themexicanrunner/c/3921148 It's on easy though, I assume a TAS will play on hard.

It's not your fault, tasvideos' time completion for GC movies is bugged because it's difficult to read it from the format, someone will come around and time how long it really is later

Pokemon Stadium AI is infamous for knowing things it shouldn't be able to. Some examples: 1) If you switch pokemon, the enemy will select a move that is strong against the pokemon you switch in, if you load state and decide not to switch they won't. 2) They know in advance if a move they select will work or not, and if it doesn't they won't pick it, they'll pick something else instead, giving them seemingly uncanny accuracy. Pokemon Frontier (Emerald etc) AI may cheat as well, but I haven't looked into this yet. Most Slots abilities in Final Fantasy games are biased away from giving you the best possible outcome, moreso than the rareness of it in the slot reels would imply (For example, in FF6 you have to do RNG manipulation to be able to hit Joker Doom at all). As in, even if your skill is perfect and by the slot machine's physics you would have gotten it, it will slide off. The Arcade/sideshow game 'Stacker' appears to be a game of 100% skill - a block slides from left to right, and you have to press the button when it is exactly on top of your tower of stacked blocks. But actually, when you are about to win a prize, the game rolls an RNG (the probability of which can be tuned by the machine's owner), and if the RNG says you can't win, even if your accuracy is perfect, it will slide one block further and you will lose.

I don't know this game, but does this run get "all" something, like visit all areas or fight all bosses? It would probably be easier to define this run by what it does than what it avoids.
But you could imagine a TAS that uses L+R and unintended exits and gets 'all' of the stuff this TAS does in a faster time. (That's kind of why the 'glitchless' gold TAS by fractalfusion couldn't be rebranded 'all bosses' or whatever - an arbitrary execution TAS could beat them up in record time!)

'Hidden Mansion' mode in Luigi's Mansion is equivalent to 'Replay Mode' in Symphony of the Night - you start the same game from the same starting point, except with some fixed advantages (in SotN it's skipping cutscenes and being able to buy more things from the shop, in Luigi's Mansion your vacuum is powered up). To me this is fine, just list the category as 'Hidden Mansion mode' so it's clear it's not from new game.

You could probably reproduce the glitch by just fuzzing the last few frames of input until it happens on console. It is very volatile.

A high score of the iOS roguelike 868-HACK would be entertaining (maybe speed too, but that's a lot easier to optimize). Hoplite too. A perfect play of TripleTown would be an entertaining watch. RNG manipulation ho!

The fastest route for DKR any% is the one toufool did at SGDQ2013, where you beat wizpig 1 early with an out of bounds, beat the first world, then use trophy storage glitch to get every other world's trophy by beating world 1's trophy race and tricking the game into giving you that world's trophy. So it's doing world 1 over and over in identical ways and it's really boring, which is why 100% should be done if you're aiming for entertainment.
