Having caught up on this, you had a great informative commentary style Weatherton. It made me think you should consider doing a commentary track for the final product.
Oh, and the Mushroom Cup run wasn't bad either!
Great work THC. I always enjoyed Heroes runs, but did think they looked slower compared to other Sonic games. But with some of the things found this year from the realtime runners that was becoming no longer the case. And its great that the TAS can also shatter that misconception.
Whilst it has kinda been brought up, do you know how different the movements of Rose/Chaotix would be compared to Sonic in TAS conditions with their different movesets? I'm thinking mostly of Big/Vectors belly flops, but it also be neat if Creams Cheese attack or Espios throwing star ever gave them their teams options that Sonic/Dark doesn't.
Great work. Loved your streams of it again, and loved the final product.
Having competed in this at TSC awhile back I knew most of the action stages strats, but seeing them optimized was a treat, especially in Speed Highway. The Ice Cap strat however was new to me, as of course were the Adventure Field tricks. Great work all round.
I wonder if you know if there are mechanically any differences between Sonic/Tails on the snowboarding section? (And now I think about it, any differences between Sonic's normal or blue snowboards?)
Looking forward to your next project what ever it is. You do seem to have quite a few possibilities for it based of what you have done recently!
Easy yes vote. I had been very curious to see what Amy's unique (for a Sonic game) skill set would look like Tool Assisted, but gave up on ever seeing it done due to an assumed lack of interest. Glad to have been proven wrong.
This did not disappoint in the slightest. I'm glad that even though she is slower than the usual trio, all of the things that are unique to her speed her up. The 'Whirlwind attack' with Diagonal Spring trick is especially neat.
The run does make me wonder if, despite team tags changing the whole game, Amy would have any use in any of the Advance 3 levels after seeing this.
Anyway great work guys. Nice to see VanillaCoke back in some way too.
Still looking great.
Out of curiosity, do you know how many of those Crazy Dayzees could spawn Amazy Dayzees? And how would you go about manipulating them to spawn if you wanted to?
Your run is going from a goal choice I wanted to see, to something fantastic on its own merits.

I'll link it if you won't.
Good luck on Marble Garden!
Looking amazing. How do you manipulate the mystery item into giving you what you want? And on the topic of manipulation, how will you manipulate the glitz pit to giving you win conditions you want in the fights?
This almost passed me by.
Loved the video, and it is a noticeable improvement over your old ILs in gameplay terms. The whole 'Zone totals only, as it can be quicker to return to Act1' trick was new and very entertaining to me.
Your goal choice makes sense to me, but I too can see it getting questioned to hell and back come submission time. But the big difference I personally can see between this and the Sonic 2 "perfect bonus" run is you're (I assume) going to be going through the whole game. I also could not agree more about the zipping though the whole level point you make.
As for your "Does anyone know a way of getting all 6 rings from all 3 of the ring capsules in FBZ1?" It took me a few moments to realize what you were talking about, so if you do not mind I'll post your IL of the level to try and get you a response.

(I don't suppose the capsules are closed with the rings you missed in them if you return in Act 2 having beaten Act1 are they? Assuming you can even do that in FB?)
Anyway I love this goal and hope it gets more attention like it deserves. Good luck man.
Brilliant run.
On top off all the other sweet things people have pointed out I am glad that a couple of neat tricks were found to show off in the Egg Viper fight.
God speed with the Tails sequel.
Loved the run, and also appreciated the streams of you making this.
My favorite bit was the speed boosted Space Jumps in Norfair clean up, and the freezing of the enemy you needed to pull it off on the return trip. But they were just a couple of highlights in a run full of them. Great work again.
Can you only get certain items during certain battles from the audience?
So from the Blooper fight you can get a HP Drain and only HP Drain, whilst say against a Dry Bones you can get X item and only X item? Or is more complicated than that?
Also I heard about the Gold Fuzzy strat. Looking forward to see that one done.
Low ring runs do not really appeal to me (though the theory behind them are interesting) but I did enjoy this as it addressed the one problem I had with the any%; the showcasing of the many various team options the game has. So I appreciate the effort you put into that particular goal choice.

if it's not essential to use some particular powers.
I would be interested in hearing which levels particular characters were essential. Cream/Knuckles seemed to be used (needed?) often?
And for a couple of nitpicks;
You missed an character change/overworld video edit from Twinkle Snow Boss to Chaotic Angel 1.
And more importantly, the any% misses 2 of those 3 rings on AlterEmerald. No idea if all 3 could have been skipped though.
Still, great job. Really glad to see Advance 3 getting some love.
