Can't say I saw this one coming; but Lil_Gecko is having another go at the 'hundo %' for lack of a better term for it. Here's a youtube vid of the first disk along with dovetailed text commentary. Link to video For what it's worth; lovely to have you great Gecko. And from what I can tell your English and commentary in general has much improved. You did a great job on it on what I've seen so far. (I'm... assuming the gameplay is pretty ok too, but you'd know better than me there!)

I don't believe it is strictly speaking a Speedrun, but it does sure as heck fit the 'superplay' definition of TAS for me, and something I've been hoping for since I first saw the co-op feature in the game. Pretty chaotic. A 4 player all star coins wip to the end of world one by GregLvk. Link to video

Unless I'm doing something very wrong, I think you messed up the link. But it's here https://www.twitch.tv/whiteted_strats Sounds good though. I'll be sure to check it out!

I keep meaning to reply every single time a wip is posted in here, that I'm grateful for the update, but I always get lazy and never do. But not this time! So thank you rvdog, TheKDX7, Tompa and Spikestuff. All the videos have been a blast to watch. I don't know the TAS tech for Sunshine, but they are very entertaining to watch.

I pretty much agree with you in that fighters like this are better suited towards play-arounds rather than pure speedruns. So I appreciate you posting this at least. That said; I'm far from an expert on the genera... I played Tekken3 back in the day I think? So can't offer much creative comments other than, liked the video. Heck, the only reason I have heard of the game is as I was a big FF7 dork as a kid. Ha, that said, I'll definitely watch a playthrough of Cloud or Tifa. I recall my younger self wondering what they would play like in this. Tell me Tifa can spawn a dolphin with an uppercut?! (And that boss of a grey lion like character had to be Red-X111 at some point in development right?)

We also believe bop boosts work slightly differently between the different teams, which may allow for slightly different skips.
You mind telling us about that, or posting a link if one exists? I'm guessing it's something to do with the Power characters height, but otherwise, that's the first I've heard of it. I was wondering what the alternative to Sonic/Dark's kicking for basic ground movement for Rose/Chaotix would be in a TAS too. The RTA strat of ground pound into speed formation I assume, but TAS's always surprise me. Anyway, loved the run. Been watching the streams of the progress when I could. The final product was well worth the wait. I recall thinking back when wips were being posted, being baffled at what you didn't post to keep it a surprise as 'what could you have possibly found?' I get it now. I appreciate the two of you doing the commentaries too. Looking forward to both your next runs!

For future reference, the time is down another 2 seconds to 0.37 on the video marzojr posted a couple of posts up. (TAS time is currently 0.40 for those that do not know.) Link to video

Here's another option. Evil suggested using the game genie code anyways and not submit the run to tasvideos (we'd likely still post updates here though).
If everyone involved with the run prefers to do that, then good luck to you. At the end of the day I'm just wanting to see all of your fantastic work again, regardless of how it is presented.

Ok thanks for the confirmation. And don't sweat it, you did imply it at the very least. When it's not a first language, it's just nice to confirm. Looking forward to your next run should you have one!

Nice to see you also do the any% for this the 0nlykid. Not that I didn't enjoy the Emeralds run, but I do not miss the Genesis Special Stages. Obvious 'Yes' for me. Just to confirm, are the levels not mentioned in your "Specific Changes from Best Ending TAS" section direct copies from that TAS?

Yeah, my bad; I re-read your post as I made my edit, and you had made it clear what you meant; guess it's been a longer day for me than I'd thought! I understand the desire to use the base game. The rules as written in my opinion do seem to make it clear, though of course I don't speak for the site at all. Possibly worth getting in contact with a judge if you want a solid answer. Hope whatever the answer you get a solution though. Ever since the first S+T ring wip, always thought it was a shame that due to how the Super mechanics work Knux couldn't also grab the big rings. And just seeing improvements to that great run would be a blast to follow. Best of luck!

To be clear, you mean using a cheat code that will just prevent Knux going Hyper when having the Super Emeralds and 50 rings right? Not having a way to go Hyper and then have a way of going back to his normal form? Edit; Apparently the rules do cover this...
Tools that manipulate ROM or RAM (e.g. Game Genie codes) are not allowed They count as hacked versions of the game if they touch ROM areas. Either convert it to a real hack or don't use it at all.
So if I recall correctly, the answer is no; but Sonic3 Complete should have you covered right?

A non-tas'd IL has (slightly) beaten one of the level times in the current published movie here. 8.13 seconds against 8.20. Link to video Like I say not exactly a huge time save, but that is still non TAS'd so thought it worth posting here for future reference. It also uses a different team which potentially could open a can of worms, but then I'm not really familiar with Chaotix enough to say if anyone could do it. I should say they have several other Chaotix ILs on their YouTube, no others beat the current TAS yet (Though many come close), so they also may be worth looking at if someone was to ever pick this game up.

Yeah; I'm excited by these discovery's too, but I have very little to add other than saying 'cool!' so I don't bother. But let me say when I see these very many huge things you're finding! Cool! Keep on going Personnal! You findings are huge and great to see! I'm excited to see whats next.

Oh neat; was just expecting an IL of the stage, not a prototype of this actual run. Interesting to see bits of how it evolved over time. Fun stuff with the gold shield in Spring Stadium 1 like you say. Kinda makes me even sadder it doesn't come up a little more often though! Thanks for the file. And while I'm far from a spokesperson for the site, if you are relatively new here, welcome. Based of the quality of your first submission I'm sure all are glad to have you here!

Ha; I'd actually deleted a joke from that post about being sad that the run of the game with the sole appearance of the gold shield and it's abilities was still limited one whole stage. I'd be interested in seeing that Spring Stadium 1 any% run if you're willing to upload the input file considering you've already done it. Alright; cheers for answering the question. Like I said, you did a great job here! Looking forward to an Any% if you do it, but oh boy do I relate with burnout. Best of luck with your next project what ever it ends up being.

Clear yes vote from me based off the huge jump in quality from other TAS's of the game I've seen. Sonic actually wen't pretty fast at times in 3D Blast for once. My only question would be at the goal choice, and that's coming from someone who generally prefers 'hundos'. When I think of Sonic game runs where it's worthwhile getting the emeralds as an objective, 3D blast isn't exactly top of the list, especially the Genesis version.

Bit of an update. Ocean Palace and Egg Hawk are now done and they are a little bit into Grand metro. No video as they apparently found something and want to hold something back for the final release. ...Which is a touch nuts to me considering what Seaside hill looked like, but ok. ---- edit; 08/04/19, Another week, another update! This one is a little more exciting with Grand Metro being done and shown off. First demonstrations of what 'bop boosts' look like while TAS-ing. Link to video Going off Malleos stream currently a few seconds into Power Plant.

Delightfully that time is now; and as well as finding time, THC has found a partner for this project in Malleo! (Of Paper Mario and Mario Kart Wii TAsing fame!) Still early days as they are currently working on stage2, but the progress in the first stage alone is already impressive saving over 14 seconds on the first stage already. And that's without using the massive Real Time strat of 'bop boosting' that was discovered after the last wips. Version with inputs from THC here; Link to video Or a widescreen hack from Malleo (encode provided by Sewer56) here; Link to video Mallleo also streams his TASing at times here if you're interested or have any ideas to share.

Hey 8bit; I know it's not exactly a valid run, what it being a hack and all, but did you ever upload the button inputs for that Bridge2 with out the autoscroll camera anywhere? If you don't mind, I'd like to check it out. For those unaware I'm referring to this; Link to video

This from here? I don't know its quality as I'm not familiar enough with the game, but it was updated a couple of months ago apparently so I guess it's alright?
