I really like this game since it's pretty fun, but I just didn't find the run that entertaining. It was rather boring, and was too long to keep me interested. While I did watch the whole thing, it was kind of difficult to sit through. Another thing that was annoying was that since the levels were quick, you had to hear Mario's voice too much, (which granted, is unavoidable) and that made it kind of annoying to watch. (I had the same problem with the Mario 64 runs) It's a very colorful game which makes it nice to look at though. I really hate to say this, but I vote no. I know you put a lot of work into it, so I sort of feel guilty.

World 1 complete. This marks the end of the really easy stuff, so it will probably be much longer between levels now. Consists of 4 levels and a boss. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1622491509/Copy%20%287%29%20of%20new-Lady%20Sia%20%28U%29%20%28M6%29%20%5B%21%5D.vbm Things worth mentioning. In level 3, I have no idea why I was allowed to stand on those hovering platforms after performing the sword climb trick, but it really worked to my advantage. Normally, I would just fall through hovering platforms after doing that, so it was strange that it didn't do that. Also you catch another glimpse at the Fall Through Floors glitch, but I don't actually go the whole way. At the end of level three, I crawled on the ground before getting the ring. This is because it wouldn't actually let me pick it up until she was done flashing, so I had time to goof off. In level four, While standing on a switch, I jumped up to a really far platform that I shouldn't have been able to get to. While I'm not entirely sure how it worked, I'm about 85% sure it goes like this... In a lot of games, your character can walk off a surface for a bit, and still be able to jump. (a prime example being Kine from Kirby's Dream Land 3) This is also true in Lady Sia. Sia can jump while half off an object. For some reason, Sia can go further off the object and jump when on a certain sprite. The sprite in question is when her legs are farthest apart just so you know. Sia's walking animation always starts the same way, with the sprite needed being near the beginning. By letting go of the D pad button, (either right or left) she will slide for a bit. By doing this, you can reset her walking animation. I slid on the switch and was able to restart the walking, thus getting the sprite I needed at the right time to jump to the platform. This saved TONS of time seeing as doing the correct path takes a long time to do. In level 4, I perform the Sword Climb Trick, and then get on the bird. This creates another weird glitch to add the list of glitches caused by Sword Climbing. Once I start flying on the bird, the screen is stuck on one area of the screen. This lousy description means that even if I fly down, the screen won't follow me to lower areas. Due to this, I have a very limited space to fly around. This can be fixed by getting hit by an enemy. Boss fight went really well. *edit* Oops! Sorry mmboss, I forgot to answer your question. I'm unsure of how long the movie will be. If I had to place bets, maybe slightly over or under an hour. The first world was pretty fast, so I don't know if that trend will continue. I do know that the levels get longer each world, so it's hard to tell. By the way, there are four worlds. I also never mentioned that this is a run without the bonus levels. Each world has a bonus level you can access by getting 100% on each level. To get 100% on a level, you have to collect all 25 of the green diamonds, free all 5 tied up people, and finish with full health and magic. (You have not seen any magic yet) This would be a much longer run, and to be honest, I've never tried to get 100% on any levels since it's too hard.

Indeed it is a good game. Something stupid just happened. I had gone through a fair bit of a level, and then I noticed that the movie wasn't recording, so I have to do that over again. fortunately, it wasn't too much, but it had taken nearly an hour to make. That sucks. Must have forgot to turn read-only off. >:(

Ah, I had thought of that already ;) I used the tas editor to make like, a 1 frame long movie, and just copied the rest into that. Did it not work? The signiture number is the same in both versions. *edit* discovered a huge time saver.

Heh, sorry. Fortunately, it doesn't matter since I was (after much searching) able to find... Lady Sia (U) (M6) [!] This is good. Though for those not wanting to find the rom, the video can still be played on the overdump. *edit* also, level 2 finished (it's a short level) Also has part of level 1 improved http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1350554026/new-Lady%20Sia%20%28U%29%20%28M6%29%20%5B%21%5D.vbm Note that the raft in the water is out of reach when you first get there, so I took the time to show off the fall through floors trick while waiting for it to come back.

Yes, I found it, but it was bloody hard. and incedentely, Lady Sia was a game only released in the states and europe. There was no Japan version. Sort of like how there was no "Nester's Funky Bowling", "Water World", and "3D Tetris" for the Virtual Boy in Japan. Nester was the Nintendo Power Mascot, so there wouldn't be a Japan version of it. I think you can still view the WIP on the overdump though.

I have quite a dilemma. I accedentelly started a run of Lady Sia on a rom called... Lady Sia (U) (M6) (o1) I know that overdumps aren't allowed, but the only other rom is a Europe rom, and for some unknown reason, Europe roms always screw up my computer. Don't ask me why it happens, cause I have no idea. I already finished the first level, but now I don't know if I'd be allowed to submit the run since it's an overdump. My question is that would it be okay to submit this? Because I'd have to quit the project otherwise, and I was really wanting to run this game.

Sorry for a third post, but there's new stuff. Lady Sia level 1 WIP. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/506496392/Copy%20of%20Lady%20Sia%20%28U%29%28Mugs%29.vbm The rom title is Lady Sia (U)(Mugs) It's a really cool game, so you should at least take a look at it. I hope that maybe I can influence someone more experienced than I to make a run too. Things worth mentioning. Chose to skip training section by turning it off in the menu screen. I danced to the music really well at one point, which is wierd since the frame advance makes it so there's no sound. It was a total fluke. Objects such as pullies and moving platforms are set in certain spots. There's no way to change it. I discovered a trick where if you slash your sword while climbing an edge, you can skip the hideously long climbing animation. However, once you do this, you will not be able to stand on moving platforms or other hovering surfaces. To fix this, you have to climb a ledge normally, as in without the sword glitch. The other problem that happens is a good thing though. If you get hit by an enemy, you will fall through the floor or fall into the walls underneath you. This could be considered a walking through walls trick, but it's a very limited one. You could potentionally fall through floors to lower areas that otherwise take a long time to get to. I have not been able to think of a place it would be helpful yet, but there's bound to be someplace. I might have been able to improve a few things, so I'll probably go back and check it over.

I think I might start a run of Lady Sia. It is a very awesome game, and would be a great game to TAS. I've already started on the first level. It's too bad I had to skip the intro cut scenes though, since it's some of the greatest drawings I've seen on the GBA. *edit* Discovered something major! Great time saver I can use throughout the whole run!

Thanks! Well, yeah, I was thinking I could try to run this again, but I'll wait and see what happens with this one. Wile E. Coyote does do different moves each time, so it's difficult to make it better. The Daffy stage does look a little messy, but swimming is as fast as walking underwater. If I do a new run sometime, I'll try to make that look better. The biggest problem with doing a new run would be getting the Bugs Bunny level as good as it was this time. The mini boss section was perfect if you ask me. (or Poifect as Bugs would say) The Tweety Level would probably also be hard to beat. The Taz level could probably be improved by hitting less bricks, but that's boring. Overall, I think it was pretty good. *edit* You'd be surprised at the boss patterns part. It has different boss patterns for some bosses/mini bosses (specifically Elmer Fudd and the frog guy) and there's this thing in the speedy Gonzalies level where a certain ghost's position isn't in the right spot to avoid until a certain frame in that level, resulting in me having to stop for a few frames (as I've experienced in my newest attempt I'm working on) before I can proceed. So the Speedy level can't really be improved. (Though I managed to tie it)

I only ever played the SNES version. It's much different. Too bad the Rom totally messes up this one room.

So I finally got around to watching your drill dozer wip, and noticed a few things that should be done. (one which I thought would be obvious) Also, I recorded these clips at the point in your movie, so these are the set ups that would be where you are at the time. One of my previous tricks at the point in your movie it would occur. I suggest doing this since it saves lots of time. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4518414/improvement%201%20-%20Drill%20Dozer%20%28U%29.vbm A jump that I thought would be obvious http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/984099660/improvement%202-%20Drill%20Dozer%20%28U%29.vbm Granted this was tricky, but it would save time. you have to bounce on those bricks to get your drill at a good strength before drilling the big block. You won't have to beat up this one bad guy this way. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1291918482/improvment%203%20-%20Drill%20Dozer%20%28U%29.vbm Also, you have to use this. It cuts off so much time. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1525329769/super%20shortcut%20-%20Drill%20Dozer%20%28U%29.vbm Also, there is a new trick I discovered that is being put in the post on the previous page with all my tricks.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this game yet. I hate to start a request thread, but I'm wondering if anybody ever planed to play this. Although, people may have never even played this normally, so I don't know if it would ever get done. If you've never played it, it's a very awesome game. You fly around in a ship of your choice (though most times you're forced to take a certain one) in a Mario 64 type 3D environment, and you have to complete objectives in each level. There are also medals that can be won (bronze, silver, Gold) by accomplishing certain tasks, (time, number of enemies killed, accuracy) making a good separate run for all gold medals. I must warn you though, that it is a very hard game. I only ever got any golds (or won any levels for that matter) by using all of the cheat codes you could enter in the codes menu. So you should at least take a look at the game if you've never played it. It's a great way to spend hours and hours doing the same level over and over again. And as a tip for the enemy kills goal, little troopers on the ground count as enemies.

You know you work on your TAS too much when you start dreaming about it. (has happened for the past three nights)

Once again, this is cancelled due to figuring out how to get through Speedy with out invinsible. I will look over the run several times before I re submit it so I don't have to keep cancelling it.

That particular version of that song is called "Platforms-a-Plenty" I saw that on a Mario soundtrack.

I'm pretty sure that Kirby should be included in the far above and beyond normal video game soundtrack category. Kirby games have all the catchiest, funnest, and awesome songs. Who doesn't like Butter Buildings? Who doesn't like The Gourmet race theme? Who doesn't like Mt. Dedede? If you ask me, you can't beat Kirby when it comes to music. The non kirby game with the best music though is (and don't shoot me for this) Luigi's Mansion. Luigi's Mansion had really creepy music that scared the hell out of me as a kid. That is part of what makes it great Other games with good soundtracks include Pokemon Trading Card Game Pokemon Red Pokemon Ranger Mario's Tennis (Virtual Boy version) Puzzle Bobble Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Yoshi Cookie (SNES) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Super Mario Sunshine Looney Tunes Diddy Kong's Quest Dixie Kong's Double Trouble

Oh. Sorry. I'm thinking that the rest of the run was great as it was (though Porky looked a bit boring) so I'm gonna see if I can figure out how to hex edit it.

I canceled this run because after I submitted it, I discovered an awesome trick in the Tweety Stage. By executing it through out the whole stage, I've saved a lot of time I also had to redo Daffy's positioning at the end of the first level so he was as close as he could be to where he stands in the score screen. The score doesn't start counting down until he's in his spot. This run had him unnecessarily far away from his spot, resulting in wasted time. I am currently redoing Tweety Stage over and over again to try and get better times. Also, I had always thought my Porky Stage wasn't as impressive as it could have been. It will all be worth it.

I did submit a run, but I discovered something awesome in the Tweety Stage, so I canceled it. Landing on Sylvester for a second gives Tweety a short speed boost. I have re-done this level several times now, and by frequently using this trick alone I've hacked off TONS of time. Of course, I don't know if the mini boss and boss fights will go as well as the first run. The Wile E. Coyote fight was perfect. I might try Tweety stage a few more times before I'm finished with it. I had thought that the Tweety stage couldn't really be improved much if you did the fast walking the whole time, but this new trick makes it one of the more optimizable levels. (I don't know if I used that word correctly.) EDIT! I know it's pretty late getting to it, but my run has been published. A while later my improvement run was published and obsoleted my old one.

Yeah, the clearing points is annoying. It set for each level. As for the chickens, that does effect the score, but taz won't leave until a certain point in the song anyway, so it doesn't really effect it so long as I don't get too many.

Something new! A quick and safe way through a difficult room. The room right after my shortcut. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/349652984/2drill%20down%20travel%20-%20Drill%20Dozer%20%28U%29.vbm

Wow! You know I hadn't given this level any thought yet. I've been too worried with all the crap in Sand Canyon. These instructions are VERY useful. I thank you very very much. Though You may have gotten a bit mixed up. You do fight the ice guy. Since there is no mini-boss for SPARK (Sorry. It's a pet peeve of mine.) or Cutter, you just swallow Sparky and Sir Kibble. As I've said before this is a one player run, so any strategy involving Gooey is automatically shot. I think out of the other three choices, Chu Chu would be my best option. Thanks again! I'm amazed you went through the time to figure this stuff out. Though I think certain abilities are weaker on certain mini-bosses.

You know you've read too much manga when you start reading comic strips right to left. (Actually happened quite a few times)
