I've played the game before, but I don't understand any of these acronyms. :P I'm too lazy to set up the N64 emulator stuff, so I'll just wait it out. I actually had no idea this was being done, and I'm pleased that it is. Coincidently, I've been watching the current 120 star TAS (taking breaks after getting bored) and it's pretty cool, but I wish it was a bit more interesting. I guess since we've seen all of the tricks now, it isn't as fun to watch a second time. The bowser stages aren't as cool either due to having to get the red coins.

Hey what's with the fighting here? It's awesome that's there are two people making runs! Competition always creates better results when it comes to TASing. If Spider-waffle can beat Halamantariel's times, that will just encourage Halamantariel to try harder. I say if you work together, it will create better results. There have been games where two people make separate TASes, and one of the runs can be used as a reference run. My Kirby's Dream Land 3 run (R.I.P) sucked until I saw Comicalflop's run through the first 4 levels. I used it as a reference, and was able to compare my own strategies to his strategies to find the faster method. His run ended at level 4 though, so I didn't have too much to compare with, but I had quite a better time by the end of level 4. Since my run has been abandoned now, other players can use it as a reference. One thing I've seen on the forums before that is annoying is players keeping their tricks for faster times a secret. If it's something that can be used throughout the whole run, that is even more crucial to tell since you can discuss what places you can use it, and which places you can't. If you keep it secret, you may miss certain places the trick could be used. This may not really apply to Uniracers, but I thought I should say it. If you are worried about someone "stealing" your run, you can list both players as the author since you helped each other out a lot. Hope to see a run from either of you sometime.

Well even though I watched this ages ago, I'll post my comment. The thing that I loved most about this run was the use of Missle as a transportation ability. On the actual cartridge, it is impossible to use missle like that. I had always wanted to see missle used like that, so that's what I loved about this run. I also found it funny how you just ignored some of the big buttons.

I've never liked how Kirby's Dream Course is in the "Sports" genre, since it barely resembles golf, but I can't think of anything better for it.

In the TAS, yes it was in the 40 seconds range, (I don't think it was under 40 though) but I did not do the super jump while getting the ability, and I didn't have turbo controller for wing, and there were a few other errors that weren't as good as the TAS. This run was on the console remember, so it wasn't perfect. I'm not saying my run was faster. I'm just saying that if you used that star block feather gun trick like in my run, the TAS time could be a faster time, rather than stopping on the ground and shooting a feather like in the TAS. Also, if you don't have turbo flying, it is faster to land on that plaform near the end and jump. Oh, and if you're wondering, the run that was up on speeddemos before my run was 0:45.?? (I don't remember what the milliseconds was, but I was very close to beating the previous run by 3 full seconds)

Two things I'd like to say. In the currently posted run, the player, (I forget who) uses jet very poorly. When you use it, you can hold up for kirby to fly upwards slightly. The player flies straight, and then flies straight up to reposition himself. Also, there is a faster way to get through the walls of star blocks in Gourmet race 3. Check out my Gourmet Race 3 run on speeddemos to see it. If this is possible on the console, it can be done in a TAS, and probably even better than how I perform it. My run is 0:42.57 on the console. Check it out http://speeddemosarchive.com/demo.pl?KirbySuperStar_GourmetRace3_4257

I'm glad the stars are gone. I never liked the idea. Though I had always thought I prime example of good use of tools was Kirby's Dream Course. For those who have played the game and know how hard it is to get gold medals, this will be one of the most amazing, yet annoying runs to watch. I loved it, but I was annoyed at how perfect it was.

8% :D *Walks away in shame* When you can only get #7 #9 #17 and #45, you know you've lost the game.

This may have been asked before, but are there any decent Virtual Boy emulators? I know there is no such thing as a rerecord version. It would be kinda pointless since there are only a handful of Virtual Boy games. (but a few of them would make good TASes.) So yeah. Virtual Boy emulators. Are there any decent ones? or does nobody on the planet care enough to make one? (not directing that at this site. I mean ANYONE on the planet) Also, since I'm here, these are the games I think would make decent TASes, even though it'll never happen. I really love Uniracers/Unirally, but I didn't think it would be that interesting to watch a TAS of, so I didn't watch the dragster video, thinking it would just be constant twists. I decided to watch it today, and I laughed so much at how insane it looked. There was a high WTF? factor to it. It was freakin awesome! If you can make THAT level look interesting, I'd love to see more of this. Though I can see how a game with this much precision and variety would be hard to make. I think that if this were ever finished, it would definitely win some sort of award at the end of year awards. (If that actually is a yearly tradition) Good Luck on this run. It'll be awesome if it gets finished. *Goes to watch Dragster again*

I was just wondering if anyone buys Nintendo manga? Video game 4Koma is the greatest manga ever. I have a bunch. However, some of the books are unbound (meaning I seperated the pages) so I could scan them for the Kirby's Rainbow Resort website manga section. Here is my list. all of the books are 4koma. (some are still in the mail) Kirby's Dream Land 3 (unbound) Kirby Squeak Squad (unbound then glued back together) Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (unbound) Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land (unbound then glued back together) Kirby 64 The crystal Shards (partially unbound) Kirby and the Amazing Mirror Golden Sun (Currently in the mail) 2 volumes of Pokemon 2 volumes of Link's Awakening Kirby Super Star A different volume of Kirby 64 and the one I'm most happy about... LUIGI'S MANSION!!!! I didn't even know that a Luigi's Mansion 4koma existed. I just happened to find it on ebay. I quickly bought it and it's in the mail. I'm not as thrilled as when I got the Golden Sun 4koma, since I had been searching for that for ages. I only found out about the Luigi's Mansion 4koma when I saw it on ebay, so I wasn't as excited. But I'm pretty darn thrilled. I even got the most expensive shipping so it would get here faster. Anyone else have any? If anybody can confirm if a Pikmin 4koma exists, I'd greatly appreciate it.

He may be overestimating the time, but still, you can't make a good run in a few days. Also, you may want to tell us what rom you used so we can see it.

The characters are not the same. Tiny Toons was a spin off of Looney Tunes. Tiny Toons has younger counter parts of Looney Tunes Characters, but they aren't the same person, example, Plucky Duck is a completely different person than Daffy Duck. Sorry if you already knew this though. I just got the idea you didn't know. Here is a list of the characters the Tiny Toons were based on, including some of the really obscure ones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiny_Toons#Characters

I give it a weak yes. It was kinda dull, but I did enjoy it. But did they have to put a freaking face on everything?! Not that I didn't like that, I just thought it was stretching it once I saw a face on a freakin apple.

I give this a solid yes vote. It was very fun to watch, and well played. I loved how it played the "Mickey Mouse Club" theme at the beginning, and I so want an Mp3 of that version of "Small World" that played during the credits. When I first saw the Mickey Sprite, I went "awww...." He's got a major over does of cute in this game, and I don't even really like Mickey Mouse all that much. (Well, mainly just his recent crummy cartoons) I don't think I even want to SEE that U.S localization of the game. How could they replace that cute sprite? Though was it just me?, or was the end boss kinda scary for a Mickey Mouse game?

Sorry,X2poet!I want to vote NO because there are some reason. First, I think this game is simplistic and boring .As far as I have seen it, this run is telling us how the frog walks from left to right without stopping and BOSS.I think it is not hard. Different from SMB , this run seems to lack interesting skill (for example-debug, Manipulates luck, use warps, abuse programming errors-use bug and so on).
I can see all of the words you say.Your no vote is for the reason that the game is simplistic, but not for me.debuging, Manipulating luck, using warps, abusing programming errors, and, using bug are unnessesary in this game. But you have not told me how I should improve the entertainment. Is choosing game a miss? I don't think this game is boring. So I take my choice to pick up this game.
I read on the site somewhere once that "A run should not be posted just because it was hard to make" But I did watch your movie. I must say I really really enjoyed it! I liked how you killed everything except for 3 or 4 guys. True it was a simplistic looking game, but it was fun to watch, and that's what counts. The music was awesome, it was bright and colourful, and it wasn't hard to watch. By that I mean it isn't so fast that it's hard to watch. (I had that problem with the Donkey Kong Country runs) The only part I didn't like was the Rock, Paper, Scissors boss. That was kinda dull. So a solid yes vote from me. I watched it a second time right away, and still enjoyed it. We need more fun, cute games on the site.

Again, I deleted previous posts to avoid a triple post. So I had finished the run and posted it for voting, and it wasn't getting very good reviews. The actual poll said 5 yes votes and 1 meh vote, but the comments weren't as positive. So I decided to start an improvement run to try and make it faster, and more interesting. I was shocked to find how horrible my first run was. Just in the short tutorial level I saved 6 frames, and it's pretty sad that I was even able to saved any frames there since it's so straight forward. I've only gotten to the end of level 3, but I've saved 1019 frames over my last run. That just goes to show you how awful my first run was. It's a good thing it wasn't published. Though most of those frames were saved by jumping onto two moving platforms before they went away. In my first run, I had to wait for them to come back. Level 3 was very boring in Version 1, and this new run fixes that. It's a lot more action packed since I kill as many enemies as possible without wasting time, where in version 1 I mainly just dodged them all. So here is my first WIP for the new run. It's way shorter, more entertaining, and just all around better. Too bad nobody's watching these, but just in case someone does get interested, I'll be posting. I suggest you watch my old run up to the end of level 3 before you watch my new run. The first little area is not level 1. That is the tutorial level, but since I turned tutorial off, it's really short. Level one starts after that. Also be aware that in my old run, it will sometimes desync at the start of level one, and my new run will sometimes desync near the end of the tutorial level. To fix this, simply restart the video. It never does it twice in a row. New run http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1001690578/improvementLady%20Sia%20%28U%29%20%28M6%29%20%5B%21%5D.vbm Old run http://tasvideos.org/1874S.html Oh, and one little thing I didn't understand before, I understand now. One of the glitches that happens after the sword climb trick is falling through hovering platforms. There were some that I could stand on for some reason though. I have now deduced that I will only fall through hovering platforms that move, or have an animation sequence.

Yeah, I'm almost positive that smacking him with the Heart Rod is more powerful than just shooting a heart. EDIT: I just today discovered that it doesn't matter how you hit him, it always does the same damage, however, the last health always takes more shots than normal, and the first health takes less hits.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "is it okay?", but I see no reason why you can't use it. Though I've heard several times on the forums that 1.51 has more desync problems than other versions, which made Dream Land 3 even harder to run. I'm actually very sad that I have to drop this project, but there's just no way I can continue. So yeah, you can use 1.51 if you want I guess. I think your two player run would be way more interesting anyways. My run was pretty dull. There is a major time saver you can use in a two player run in 2-5. You need to have kine with you for this level. Here are some screen shots to help explain it better In order to get the Heart-Star, (that's actually the official term) you'll need to have kine so you can swim against the current and get pitch. But Kine is too big to fit through here. So you need to do a lot of crud to break these so he can cross. Since you have two player, make Gooey go on Kine. Now Gooey can just warp across!

Well, good luck on your run. I'm sad to say I've now officially dropped the project. The desync stuff just depressed me too much. Though for future runners of the game, the new Snes9x 1.43 v11 fixes the transparency bug that makes see through objects solid. This means you won't have to use Snes9x 1.51 This is the end result of my work. 1-1 to the start of 3-3 (this is just the last link I posted, but figured I should re post it on the Death of Project Reply) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1514320545/Copy%20%2816%29%20of%20Kirby%27s%20Dream%20Land%20thh%20%28U%29.smv

Yes. I know what that means. It was something that even bothered me in some levels while rewatching. There is some wobbling in the first level, but I'm gonna try and tone it down this time. Particularly in the boss fights. I really think that if I ever get this new version posted, you'll like level 3 a lot more. It's got a lot more action than before. I tried for a little over an hour and a half to try and jump over the big water section so I wouldn't have to waste a ton of time to get the box to fall so I could jump on it. I made so many re-records there, and they were all meaningless since I simply could not jump that far, even with my extended jump tricks. I have declared it impossible.

I canceled this run because of the improvement run I decided to work on. I haven't even finished the third level, and I've saved a mind boggling 971 frames. 666 of them are due to not having to wait for a moving platform to come back in level 2. I've also made level 3 a lot less boring by killing as many bad guys as I can without wasting time. I mainly avoided them in my first attempt. So this run is canceled. Maybe I can find a way to make the boss fights less boring to watch too.

I figured the bosses would be a problem. They are long, but sadly, there's not much one can do about that except hit the boss as soon as it's vulnerable.
