In other games where you can duplicate collectibles, like Metroid Prime 2, 100% is normally defined as collecting every item that's meant to count towards percentage, regardless of what the percentage actually ends up as.
You're comparing a game with an actual percent counter to one without.

Maybe because it was relevant to the discussion of 'How do we define 100% for OoT?' - as in 'If you can get more than 20 hearts using glitches, and we allow duping/rba/etc in 100%, does that mean it's not 100% to stop at 20?'
Not really. The game default is 20, so anything over that seems obvious to be unnecessary and exceeding 100%.

So the window with the game shows "Frame : #", and I'm assuming that's the frame number the game is currently on. Each single time I do a frame advance, it increments by 2 or 3, rather than 1 frame, and it's very inconsistent about it as well. Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal?
The frame advance is defaulted on visual frames, unless you specifically set it not to. It's pointless to do so, though, since dolphin ignores every other input anyway.

It was probably that kick towards the star.
That's the final input. It doesn't matter where the star is, as long as it grabs it.

Because of what's required to set it up and what the outcome is, it's pretty useless.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwTFxV0HnIw Using this in place of manipulating 100+ rupees, we're (finally) gonna start working on the TAS again. that is, if we get past goats Kappa

Very entertaining! The play around with the spikes and The Tower were exceptionally impressive. Yes vote.

Btw. do you need the Claim Check at the end of the game or is the Biggoron Sword enough?
I would say yes, because that particular quest isn't complete until the adult trade item is the claim check. You can't get BGS without it, anyway.
But you can overwrite the claim check after you have gotten the BGS and that would probably cut about 15 minutes off the run. But alas, it's not allowed in 100%.
Explain in detail? Are you referring to something that could be done through RBA?

The group of us that banned RBA (at the time it was me, Runnerguy2489, ZFG & Cafde) did it in attempt to create a less arbitrary definition for real time runs. It holds no weight for a TAS, however. In fact, I would be disappointed if maps/compasses/boss keys weren't gotten in a 100% TAS. It's skipping out on so many cool strategies and potential tricks that could only enhance the TAS. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9rnuIvzR9I Really awesome Ice Cavern 100% TAS by Bloob. Worth mentioning he does it based on normal 100% rules (not 100% IL rules), so he only gets the dungeon item, gold skulltulas and heart piece.

I've heard rumor of a Stone Tower Temple 100% TAS in the works, too! Glad to see this game getting some action again.

I like Swordless and the DKR runners and this run was pretty entertaining, so I voted yes. I don't like speedruns that require already completed files, but as long as this gets stuck with some kind of "NewGame+" category, I'll be happy. Great job!

I'm gonna post this here in case anyone wants to take a shot at it. This is a glitchy pillar in Arbiter's Grounds that pushes link partially out of bounds by the door that leads to the inner dungeon. If a skip here was found, it would save a ton of time. Here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5961EkPpdus And here's a save if anyone wants to fiddle around with this on Dolphin/Console. http://www.mediafire.com/?b3efop5m849b1t2

Small update http://pastebin.com/3vfduhtb Unfortunately, we are going to have to time the amount of time lost from rupees gotten through grass patches individually, down to the frame. If it adds up to more than 10 - 15 seconds, then the route will probably turn out to be slower than the old one that gets the orange rupee at the Snowpeak Ruins entrance. Here's the current goal: Required rupees: 300 Snowboarding: 105 Arbiter's Grounds: 40 (We'll be skipping 2 Re-dead Knights) RNG Rupees: 155

As far as I know no one is working on it. Rog started a new wip but stopped at goats.

No one is going to TAS it on Dolphin when it's not the fastest version. If you're worried about it not getting accepted to the site because the ROM was never officially released on an N64, don't be.

Uh, no? Warping puts us closer to the forest temple, and is faster than running into lost woods, save resetting, then leaving, and dying.
We cant warp straight there from master sword. We would have to warp to south faron, dig under the fence, go into the cave, dig through the cave, transform on the bridge, go through the purple mist, transform again, then you're at North faron.
