You can see it being performed in Cutman, and is used again in Wily 1, but is not visible.

I started using goldwave on my mp3's and http://www.myxertones.com. I heard from a bunch of people its free, and after checking my bill incessently after the first DL, confirmed it IS free provided you get free picture messages. Its simple, upload MP3, enter phone number, hit send. Set as ringtone.

So ive been messing with the phone... The thing that stinks about most "mainstream" phones is the inability to set your previously-owned content (ie, your own MP3's) as ringtones/alerts. I had to download what is basically a Version emulator, run it from my computer, and install custom ringtones/sounds from there. But, now that its all set up, its all drag and drop. Consequently, my Ringtone is the Megaman 2 Dr. Wily Castle 1/2, incoming text is Super Metroid Item Get. I also have some other ish on there, if I get sick of Megaman I have the Mario 1 "Overworld (Hurry!)" as a ringtone alt, and a bunch of other really really nerdy NES/SNES music. I had my wife call me from her new phone, mega man started playing, I grinned, she sighed.

Fantastic run. I saw "Movie end" before the boss was down. I was all like "Oh shiiiiiiiiii!" and then the axes came out.

Its pretty nifty, but there are some changes... First of all, its on my cell (LG 9900 enV, with a QWERTY keypad). This is awesome. It also saves progress, and lets you replay any stages again (complete with boss!). This is a big plus for the whole "game on cell phone" thing, and it beats the fuck out of Snake. The blue bomber moves alot slower than I remember. For instance, in quick mans stage, activating Flash mans power only lasts one freakin screen, due to mega mans new falling speed. Thankfully the lazers move ALOT slower and it can be done easily with no power what-so-ever, provided you never stop falling. No sound effects. This is lame, imo, really really lame. The music is complete though. But still, why no pew pew? No doors. You know the two boss doors? You just pass through them, no clickclickclick SCROLL clickclickclick. There is still a pause and scroll before the real boss room however. Still, I miss the sound. I remember as a kid hearing that sound and feeling like I accomplished something. I really sucked at megaman as a kid >_> Bosses are easier, quick man, for instance, took me one try, and flashman never once froze the screen. There was alot less movement as well, Quickman did alot of sitting in place while chucking boomerangs. Im kind of thankful, playing megaman in real time on a querty keyboard is rough, I cant imagine what i'd be like on the number pad of a regular cell. Ill post more as I progress. So far, 9 bucks well spent.

The game itself is just not that interesting. 95% of the time, all you do is crawl to the right. Additionally, walking across attacked enemy's is a faster way to travel, but there are several instances where you simply avoid them, neglecting the slight speed boost. I have to vote meh, the game is boring, and I feel that this run needs some optimization.

Yes vote. Both my wife and I were entertained whilst being throughly confused.

While flying through the walls, lightning shoots everywhere and Rockman strikes a dramatic pose. It made it... all the more awesome.

That run was made better by the fact that I could never ever beat that game as a kid.

Throughly entertaining. The 99 yard pass though was the highlight. What is the world record for distance anyway?

I've updated this to a v3. Same link as above.
  • Separated reset-checking from savestate-removal. (Still does not remove the savestate if a movie is marked to start from it)
  • Fixed a bug where savestate-removal was causing an empty file in certain circumstances.
  • Focus remains on the same filename after applying any of the checks, for quick 1-2-3 testing.
If there are other things that someone would find handy with this tool, please let me know. If not, and if no bugs are found, this is probably the last update for this utility. Hopefully it's been helpful!
Will the fixed version still sync properly with movies recored with non-fixed versions?

I'll be darned if this new trick isn't applicable to Super Mario Bros. 2.
But aren't they on completely different engines?

It seems the link provided in the downloads section is dead, any chance of getting this file re-hosted or posted here? Edit - Spelling

I know when I got on top of death mountain in OoT, I could HEAR my n64 crying out in pain. Clearly, I had pushed the game to its limit, and it hurt. But you know, since a program is used for input in some parts in the Megaman run, it presents an interesting situation. Humans have been pushed-to-the-limit when it comes to pushing games to-the-limit, so a to-the-limit-pusher program has to occasionally be developed so games can be pushed-to-the-limit beyond human, game, console, and developer expectations. ... yeah.

Finally got around to watching it. My graphics card decided to uninstall itself... Fantastic run though. I remember camping out in front of alot of those mobs hoping their soul would drop... and you, of course, got it first try.

High-pitched Japanese girl sings "Famicon" classics. Weird... but... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIaE-vlYn2Y Chrono Trigger there at the end is nifty.

So for every re-record there is about 20 seconds of gameplay.
I don't really think its a 'real' TAS... I think its this guy having fun with an emulator and submitting the result. No offense.

(U) [!] Worked for me. Although it is entertaining, is it really needed to play through as much of the game as you do? This movie is really long for a "fun" movie.

Sorry guys, but I just accidentally destroyed the AVI before people received 100% of the file. I had started a re-encoding of it for an experiment, and too late I noticed that it overwrote the file it was actually seeding. So people got about 81% of the file but the remainder does not exist anymore. I will re-encode it now, unfortunately everyone will have to start the download over again using the new torrent when it is finished. It will take about 8 hours until it becomes available. Apologies.
Man, as SOON as I go to get the .avi, THIS happens! But seriously, looking forward to the run! I had just started playing this game again and bam, a TAS for it. Sweet deal.
