wunderbar!! :) Amazing TAS implementation of the "butt shot" tactic :D Thanks for this fantastic update.

Bunker 1 00A 52 cutting 2s :) 52.95 with a whewtedlad™ final warp. Normally Boris starts fleeing after 5 seconds of walking, but he'll also flee if he "finishes his walking". Similar to the trev shot on statue, we can shoot him to make this happen much sooner. I get close to him like normal (to stop his surrender) and then sprint to a pretty precise area away from Boris. This makes him flee along his normal good route. He has a 1/4 chance of fleeing the right way, otherwise he'll either go up the stairs or towards the centre of the room. I lured the guard from the mainframe room way too late but I got away with it since I just managed 52. I also missed the very first boost which I'd set up nicely in the cutscene. You can fire the shot which makes Boris surrender even earlier, since the bullet won't collide with the ceiling above the stairs, but there was hardly any dead time at Boris. Lower will want to skip most of Boris' final walk by pushing him towards the mainframe with the butt animation :)

Offering a $250 bounty to a N64 Goldeneye 007 00 Agent run that: 1. Is 53 sec faster than Wyster & Scaredsim 2011 from levels Dam to Cradle only. ... However, I reduced this amount (66 seconds) by 20% to 53 sec because the new Surface 1 strat could be an outlier compared to what is possible in the other levels. Since I’m a layperson when it comes to TAS’ing Goldeneye N64, I reserve the right to reduce the 53 sec even further in the future (depending upon the circumstances)
I would exercise that right and reduce the 53 quite significantly if I were you :P S1 is a complete outlier because it is a significant rerouting. Frigate is the closest thing and despite a big rerouting there's not much time cut. The current TAS has aged for sure but it is very impressive, and leaves little room for anything significant on most levels. I put some thoughts on the-elite forums a while ago, estimating over 30 seconds, but that's assuming that some ideas that I have can be realised. 35s from the IGT would still be an outrageous cut. As for making a tutorial video that is a very good idea to which I'll give some thought. I'm probably the most active and I'm not even a TASer. The nice thing is that a newcomer could sweep all of SA.
I was looking for an answer like this. Thank you for that. Looking at your signature, I'm glad to hear that the creative mastermind behind many innovations is working on actualizing these ideas in a tight run. While I might reduce the time target of the $250 bounty in the future, I'll present a small alternative incentive in the meantime (if it's okay with the admins): $100 for an improvement in the range [35s, 53s) $250 for an improvement in the range [53s, 30min 42s] The first run that accomplishes one of these invalidates the other bounty. Other rules from above apply (5% TASvideos rake, tight levels, deadline etc.) I realize neither amount even comes close to compensating for the enormous amount of time and effort required, but I prefer there to be some additional reward beyond just recognition, albeit small.

1. Is at least 2 sec faster than N64 Super Mario 64 (JPN) "1 Key" in 04:21.3 by Tyler Kehne, MKDasher, sonicpacker, Snark, SilentSlayers, Gaehne D, Eru, ToT, Plush & sm64expert (“SM642016”) 2. Is accepted+published by TAS videos in the same category as SM642016 and obsoletes SM642016.
I'm a bit confused (which may be due, in part, to lack of knowledge on the intricacies of TASing SM64); and I have a question for clarification. Specifically, why 2 seconds? Is there a particular reason to speculate that at least 2 seconds can be removed from the current publication, or is that an arbitrary value you chose simply hoping to push others to pursue this bounty? I'm all for improving existing publications; but if this is an arbitrary value, it seems odd to me. If your goal is simply improving the publication, then why not allow a 1.5 second improvement (or 1 second, or even .5 seconds). If there is a particular reason you believe a minimum of 2 seconds can be achieved, then I see no problem with that number.
It's mainly subjective. I looked at the obsolescence chain of the category and made a note of the time improvements, then asked myself what kind of new video would be entertaining to watch for me. Just scraping off some frames wouldn't be that satisfying, but an optimization of 2 seconds (or more) would imply some optimization that would likely be interesting to learn more about. An improved run tends to have some exponential shape if you sort all the improvements across the levels and the top improvement tends to be interesting for me personally. If the run is around 2s improved, it would likely have a "main improvement" that is in the ballpark of 1s - which seems pretty substantial for a high profile game and category that is already very short and tight, and might indicate some new creative innovation.

In addition to the TAS Goldeneye 007 bounty above, I created a video tutorial bounty for Goldeneye 007 here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=495288#495288 Also, creating a third bounty: Offering a $25 bounty to a N64 Super Mario 64 run that: 1. Comment on honoring the bounty: I realize that since I’m a newly registered member on this site, there might not be much trust in my honoring of this bounty. If there is such a concern and there is a trusted and long-term member of the TAS community, I’m willing to put the funds “in escrow” by transferring them to this trusted person who can then disperse the funds when the target is reached. If a glitch is found that skips most of the game, are you still planning on paying out? Yes I plan to check TASvideos regularly and I have PM-> email notifications enabled. Of course, if I can find an “escrow” option, I don’t even need to be notified. Bounty expires 2020-09-01. Who are you paying? TASVideos, or the player that completed the bounty? 95% goes the player(s); 5% ($1.25) goes to TASVideos.

Offering an additional bounty of $0-$100 to the creator of a N64 Goldeneye 007 (“GE”) TAS video tutorial that clearly demonstrates the relevant fundamentals. The goal should be to bring PC gamers who are clueless about TAS’ing up to speed to a level of competency where a significant portion could break/tie current GE records. The video(s) must be available for free to the public. Some dimensions that the video could cover: 1. the download, installation and configuration of the best current tools to TAS-speedrun GE (e.g., Bizhawk/MUPEN + plugins, LUA-map, watch window for important variables). 2. The use of these tools in the most important GE TAS high-level workflows (e.g., TAS’ing a common scene in a level, loading/saving controller input sequence as progress so far after working on a level for a while, encoding a video file) 3. Demos of additional workflows with these tools with respect to effectively and efficiently mastering key low-level techniques like: a. Preferred GE Control schemes and when/how to switch to them. Which context makes one better? b. Firing weapons during cinemas and the benefit and tuning of this technique c. Taking damage from nades to boost and optimizing various relevant aspects (angle, distance, timing etc.) d. Taking damage from enemy shots to boost and optimizing various relevant aspects e. Determining key game aspects influenced by the PRNG (e.g., placement of some NPCs, items, NPC death animations) and how to manipulate luck in our favor in key areas through various controllable dependencies f. Important glitches and how to exploit them i. Weapon-switch warping ii. NPC Strafe/Lean iii. NPC Dialogue Shot iv. NPC Warp v. Quickpause to full pause speedup g. Luring guards efficiently and effectively (movement and shooting at certain things) h. Efficiently moving Natalia through levels constrained by her On Sept 1, 2020, I’ll evaluate all submissions linked and sent to me via forum PM and select the one I like the most, which is roughly based on the product of perceived quality and breadth. A rough baseline will be this TAS GE tutorial by Rising Tempest from 12 years ago. As long as I like the winning video(s) more than the 12 year old video, there will at least be some bounty paid out for the creator of winning video (around $10-$20 for an equivalent video that covers current/modern tools). The maximum reward will only be paid out for a video (or set of videos) that is both very high-quality (i.e., clear) and comprehensive (covering all important topics in detail, like a course). I realize this isn't much compared to the effort required, but I hope there is some motivation out there to grow the active scene.

It's been almost a decade since the last published TAS for this game. I created a $250 bounty. Details here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=495166#495166

Offering a $250 bounty to a N64 Goldeneye 007 00 Agent run that: 1. Is 53 sec faster than Wyster & Scaredsim 2011 from levels Dam to Cradle only. The two bonus levels are optional from my side (might not be the case for Constraint 2 – i.e., in order to be published) 2. Is accepted+published by TAS videos in the same category as Wyster & Scaredsim 2011 and obsoletes Wyster & Scaredsim 2011. 3. Has each level completed in a time that is equal to or faster than any proven human record at the time of submission and has each level completed in a time equal to or faster than the level times from Wyster & Scaredsim 2011. Comment on relaxing Constraint 1: I originally wanted the run to be 66 seconds faster. This was determined by looking at current state-of-the-art TAS records on various levels, then scaling the improvement of Wyster and Scaredsim 2011 relative to Rising Tempest 2007 by the diminishing rate of expected improvement from the new sample. However, I reduced this amount (66 seconds) by 20% to 53 sec because the new Surface 1 strat could be an outlier compared to what is possible in the other levels. Since I’m a layperson when it comes to TAS’ing Goldeneye N64, I reserve the right to reduce the 53 sec even further in the future (depending upon the circumstances). If a glitch is found that skips most of the game, are you still planning on paying out? Yes I plan to check TASvideos regularly and I have PM-> email notifications enabled. Of course, if I can find an “escrow” option, I don’t even need to be notified. I don’t have a due date in my mind, but just to be safe I’ll set it to 5/13/2021 and then extend it if needed. Who are you paying? TASVideos, or the player that completed the bounty? 95% goes the player(s); 5% ($12.5) goes to TASVideos.
