Have you considered getting quadra magic via the landing glitch? quadra magic with Ultima is quite a strong but slowish attack, but as both materia's are quite late in the game, and it probably takes at least 1 minute to collect, probably not worth it. may be useful vs future bosses that have multiple targets: Carry Armor, Proud Clod, Jenova*SYNTHESIS, Bizarro*Sephiroth. this is getting crazy, i wish i had the time to contribute i guess the fastest way to complete it is using the oob glitch as early as possible, then trying to get to the shortest final boss level/boss screen or getting to the ending screen maybe there is an address which says where the doors go to, or are located on the map

we really need to find out how how wario's movements effect the boss, so we can get the best combination

if you used the glitch there, it would probably be slower

mugg did you try using the pause glitch with that method too? as you have to wait a few frames for the fox to reach wario before he goes on fire, if you used the pause glitch you probably wouldn't even have to run across the top

hi mugg, it's good to have an extra pair of hands working on it are you observing any addresses/using lua scripts? interesting clip jlun, could be onto something interesting here! trying to cut down the start scenes, here are my finds 7831 - last frame you can press any button before you can't wake up 7837 - last frame you can press start(pause) on, but won't wake up after 7831 8172 - full darkness, good marker to see if you saved/lost frames 8768 - the first frame you can reset on which still allows game to save

jlun, it's only 2 frames leave it for at least a month until we can find at least a seconds worth of savings

I would like to congratulate jlun on his hard work. We had been working on the improvements for about a month now. The progress had been really slow as we were both busy IRL. I still think there is room for some improvement, it's just a matter of finding them. But I know that a lot of the screens are now perfectly optimized, unless there is a new movement/dash/glitch yet to discover. I was a bit sad that I couldn't find anyway to bypass or cut down the cut-scenes, which take up about 30% of the input time at the start. But I kept telling jlun not to publish it yet as I kept finding possible improvements.

you can save 13 frames by selecting the first slot on the save menu..
That has always been in there, I think even in SprintGod's run. It was requested by viewers to avoid overwriting their saves (i.e., so that they can play with 'clear SRAM' unchecked).
This is a not a good enough reason to lose a whole 13 frames imo

I got to the third question mark on the tutorial level by frame 496 on my first attempt, the submission was there by 501. the slide-spin-slide is faster as you are not stopping between the slides http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/240053815/slidespinslide_crash_ntranced_TAS.vbm

you could fix desync by using these commands PixelGetColor Retrieves the color of the pixel at the specified x,y coordinates. PixelSearch Searches a region of the screen for a pixel of the specified color. these can be used to check if a level has loaded, or if the character on the screen has reached a certain point on the screen

1. is it possible? 2. it is possible to maximise the stats if one can make sense of the complex forumla that is used (the game prevents stats from being too high). i don't plan to do this, however i do maximise the stats to an extent
ctrl + O is the hotkey for it, it works fine on the real system a popular exploit is using regen then opening the disk lid and the regen will still be going but the enemy never does anything I don't know about stats, you are the tas'er!

two questions: 1. have you tried opening the lid and experimenting? or is this not allowed? 2. are you still manipulating the player stats to make certain stats very high?
