Voting "No". We at TASVideos obviously do not support bullying in any form (see objective "To DESTROY player 3").

No vote as the main loop is sub-optimal. And yes, I watched it loop from world 1 to world 3 and back.
What else would you expect from 110 rerecords? Voting "No" for the above reason and because I am not going to be the one who encodes this.

How Does Nintendo Feel About the Emergence of Video Game Emulators? The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. As is the case with any business or industry, when its products become available for free, the revenue stream supporting that industry is threatened. Such emulators have the potential to significantly damage a worldwide entertainment software industry which generates over $15 billion annually, and tens of thousands of jobs. What Does Nintendo Think of the Argument that Emulators are Actually Good for Nintendo Because it Promotes the Nintendo Brand to PC Users and Leads to More Sales? Distribution of an emulator developed to play illegally copied Nintendo software hurts Nintendo's goodwill, the millions of dollars invested in research & development and marketing by Nintendo and its licensees. Substantial damages are caused to Nintendo and its licensees. It is irrelevant whether or not someone profits from the distribution of an emulator. The emulator promotes the play of illegal ROMs , NOT authentic games. Thus, not only does it not lead to more sales, it has the opposite effect and purpose.
Wow, I never would have thought Nintendo could be this distrustful towards its original gaming community.

I don't see a reason why copying such content would be considered "piracy" or "copyright infringement". Concerning the size of files downloadable via torrent: Neither the pure size nor the pure download format are a decisive factor when it comes to detecting an act of piracy. I don't think this site is being harmed by the Six Strikes Policy.

What I find interesting about this discussion is that seemingly everybody accepts (and accepted) the ending of p4wner's run as if it is valid, because it jumped to the summary screen that introduces the player to the credits. If I understand the submission details correctly the authors jump to another point in the credits skipping said screen. To me p4wner's ending is the "more true" one, because it is what happens if one finishes the game regularly (I'm aware we are talking about the "glitched" branch). But still: Reaching the normal ending screen/routine by shortening regular gameplay through exploitation of a game-breaking glitch does not constitute a rule saying "A run finishes the game if an arbitrary sequence of the game's credits is being played back." Therefore I reject the idea of publishing this run as well as it obsoleting the existing one. Edit: Yes, it was entertaining nonetheless; voting "Yes"

I totally agree with Mothrayas. To me ending input as early as possible is a sign of optimization and not one of pure aesthetics; see [2139] GBA The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past "Palace of the Four Sword" by Tompa & Yuzuhara_3 in 05:16.73 for a technique that resulted in a rather large improvement, which is a neat example to support my view.

Did your laptop never get so hot that you would inflict serious injuries on yourself if you pressed just one last button?

Could anyone provide me with an AVsync build for 3.0-389? I tried the first download on the 1st page, and it sync but runs the game at about 3fps. The next build on there won't playback correctly. RachelB provided me with the current build I'm using, as it has a disc change option.
There is no such version 3.0-389 (http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/download.html?list=17). You'll have to provide us with a git commit or an existing entry from that list to build your A/V sync version.

Yeah, Road Rash is definitely missing on this site. According to his personal page, adelikat at least consider(s|ed) TASing RR2 or 3 (http://tasvideos.org/Adelikat.html#FutureTasPlansNoGuaranteesThatIWillEverStartFinishThese). Don't know, whether this is still true or not.

I strongly encourage the author to work on possible improvements, since this game has the potential to make for a good TAS. Voting 'meh' at this time. A more optimized version would definitely get a 'yes'.

Me too. But for 20€/$/whatever I expect more than just a multiplayer and a widescreen/high resolution fix. A comprehensive map editor would be nice e.g. Edit: The gist is: They'll have to deliver more than just an old game and some patches the community had already delivered

A (very ugly) quick encode using the originally submitted movie file This is my first time capturing, encoding and uploading a video of a TAS. So please be lenient when seeing how bad its quality is, even if it's only a temp encode. I did not quite figure out, how to work with the respective tools. Edit: This isn't needed anymore. Oh and I'd vote 'Yes', if I could. A very worthwhile run of a very worthwile game (I only played an HD remake on XBox; I think of it as a faster Metal Slug).

The game is called "Top Gun: Firestorm" and developed by Fluid Studios for the GBC. The player controls an F-14 Tomcat pilot whose mission is to destroy enemy bases and vehicles using a machine gun and various types of rockets. There's no timelimit or restriction on refilling health, fuel or weapons. A mission ends when either all targets are destroyed or the player uses up all of his retries. md5sum of ROM used: 4e96469582dbd92121ff25959388165d Edit: Suspended. Edit 2: Cleaned up this post. This is about to be resumed in a short while with a different emulator.
