So why did you use Jabo 1.6?

As you might have noticed, bluetoaster/emu is getting a bit out of date. As such, if you can think of any emulators missing could you please provide the following: Emulator Name Emulator Version Direct URL to download link (optional) URL to source Summary of differences to old version(s) (optional, but helpful) contributors If you could place it in this thread, then I'll only have one place to check. This includes people who have already informed me of new updated in the past but have not reached the site.[/list]

Too bad that whomever added that revision forgot to add it was tool-assisted, and not just done by someone on an emulator..

I'll try encoding a section of this run later to see how much it compresses.

Not the same thing. I'm on about pwm.asm. pwm.c compiles and links fine afaik.

I also seem to have some bizzare issue. I've compiled this fine however when I run the created Gens.exe , whenever it applies a rendering mode (even when it's first loading up) it for some bizzare reason takes the entire width of BOTH of my screens. Also, a small F.Y.I. If someone with a newer version of Visual Studio tries to compile this, they will run into a issue because of pwm.c if they simply rename it to pwm1.c in the studio, then it'll compile fine.
Used VS2005, works for me: I still have a very odd bug that I've had from the beginning though; when compiling gens from scratch VS always fails to link pwm.asm. if I try building again (not rebuilding) it links fine and finishes building gens.

Here's a dumb question: is there any way to get a compiled version with these features (in particular Lua) for Windows?
Yes. You compile it yourself. It's not hard, and is documented.

I've decided to modify ShinyDoofy's post to suit my own needs. Used Linux recently and it worked fairly well (had to reinstall it ~5 times, but it got a little better with Gibbon). What I didn't like about Ubuntu is that it magically got slower and more broken as time went by for no apparent reason. It wasn't the HDD, and I hadn't installed anything extra; even RAM got 'bigger'. So naturally, I grew sick of reinstalling it every few months (>5 months in the end) and I gave Windows Server 2008 a shot on my server after I had been using linux a long time on servers. After painfully realizing that Ubuntu is just destined to fail if you want a server that's stable (compatibility with clients, no fear of breaking things, simple file sharing, other shit), I switched to Server 2008 and haven't been happier since. Of course, now I can't use Bisqwit's Mupen64 --> mencoder socket piping system. Looks like I'll have to find a way to get it working in Windows..

Are you sure that XXClone copied over the boot records? sounds like all your data is there, but the drive has no boot record.

MEncoder's decimate filter is indeed "hacky", but it's allowed, and people seem to care about what's allowed, not what's good.
I'd say decimate is buggy more than hacky. Theres nothing I can see about it that's hacky; it's a perfectly valid way of removing duplicate frames (and the way it does it is required due to AVI specs).

I tried encoding SM64 with DeDup, and MediaInfo reports 30.000fps from the result, which makes no sense. There's two 60fps fades at the beginning of the video. Apparently, it displays.. what framerate is most common, and not an average. The video is fine though. Unless someone can convince the site's authority to allow videos that don't display 60fps in MediaInfo, which I doubt, judging from my experience with this site, I doubt it will be allowed.
I managed to catch Bisqwit on IRC and ask him, a very small transcript is here. In short, in Bisqwit's words: it's allowed so long as the visual outcome is the same and playback software supports it.

What does ffdshow's Current FPS say (it's an OSD option)? Also, I would be greatful if you could provide me with the avs script.

And then when I downloaded the 32bit version I get all these DLL plugin errors. I tried to load Twilight Princess (the Gc version) and Metroid Prime 3 into my CD drive but my computer doesn't seem to read them.
Google the dll files and download them from the internet. You can get them from http://www.dll-files.com/
He said dll plugin errors, which isn't the same (even then you shouldn't be downloading random dlls for your PC). He should be looking at http://www.dolphin-emu.com/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=839 instead.

Check you have XP x64 edition or Windows Vista x64. Works for me. For those interested, playback/recording functions are in the input plugin config: Tooltip for Record Input:
Your recording will be saved to pad-record.bin in the Dolphin dir when you stop the game
Tooltip for Play back input:
Play back the pad-record.bin file from the Dolphin dir
Tooltip for Save recording:
This will save the current recording to pad-record.bin. Your rerecording will also be automatically saved every 60*10 frames. And when you shut down the game.
Sounds a bit clunky. You might want to give more input as the dev doesn't seem to fully understand the ease of use required (i.e perhaps hotkeys, direct writing to file rather than every so often, specified filenames for files)

I think this is by far my most happiest day here at tasvideos :) This is absolutely huuuuuge! I bet the rerecording isn't robust and ready but it is there and that's what is important. I've asked Bisqwit to create an own game section for Gamecube/Wii so we can start discussing TASes ^_^
Has noone even tried it yet?..
