The current TAS drew artwork. I think something that can also be added to, is to make accept wrong numbers such as "12 - 8 = 90" or something. Edit: Or make it accept something like 12 - 8 = *"Four" *2+2 *0100 *四 *Black out the screen and leave the white parts displaying "4"
This is a good idea, and I think it should lead up to artwork rather than dive straight in. Maybe a few correct answers, then some really bizarre answers that it accepts, then delve into truly nuts artwork and twitch memes (Kappa, FrankerZ etc.)

I would personally like to see a same-input, multiple games run. Perhaps the Megaman quad run?

I have a few humble suggestions:
  • Ensure that whatever people are working on for *GDQ, it's all in a repository somewhere for collaboration or at least access. If someone disappears with all their work on their PC only, it's basically lost :)
  • Reddit is a very polarized community, so It's important to not be dissuaded by the hivemind; that said, I do agree with one comment that Ikaruga was a pretty obscure game to demo. It would have been nice to have a game destroyed in a funny way; perhaps [1438] SNES International Superstar Soccer Deluxe "playaround" by Marcokarty in 15:24.38? (i.e in addition to games being beaten fast)
  • I agree that the past two performance of TASBot at AGDQ set an impossibly high standard, and there was a missed opportunity to cement SGDQ as the more run-oriented event for TASes. Perhaps next year at AGDQ it should be explained as quickly as possible, or right at the end that TASbot will be back for runs at SGDQ.
Other than that, I thought it was great, and I think the TASing competition is a wonderful thing that could allow potential newcomers to submit work and see it put in a league table (maybe as a vertically scrolling list as the winning result(s) is/are played?)

Don't worry, I've got this. Oops! I accidentally left My SGDQ2015 storage folder completely open to the public! I hope no-one downloads them! But seriously, all the movies are in movies.7z. One folder for fm2, one for bk2. You'll also find a 7z of the scripts I used to judge the bk2 movies; I intend to upload tasjudy to a versioning system at some point, so this is purely for the curious.

Why is Bisqwit's name struck through?
Because Bisqwit wronged me in a previous life Bisqwit uploaded an improvement that put him higher on the leaderboard. His old time is included but crossed out since technically it was still in the top 10.

The problem appeared to be with the .fm2 autojudger being broken, which meant practically only BizHawk movies were counted at first.
A test by micro500 seems to suggest that I was under the false pretence that the only thing necessary to get an fm2 to sync in bizhawk is to add an extra frame to the start. While a few fm2 movies did succeed it seemed many failed on the clown room where there is an excessive amount of lag. The only way around this that I know of is to actually run the verifier Lua on FCEUX, or verify the FM2 runs manually. Since I know barely any Lua (and knew practically zero prior to taking up this task) I am leaning towards manually verifying the FM2 runs. I am open to any suggestions!

Hey guys! I had some last minute issues with the autojudger regarding some of the fm2 files. For those that submitted FM2 and believe they ran faster, I do apologise. I will attempt to fix the judging script over the next few days and produce a proper league table on these forums. I do want to thank every one for submitting their runs though!

Hello guys! I would like to encode a TAS but I have some questions first: - What is a good program to encode a TAS with? - When I finish the encode how do I get the encode to the author so it can be on their submission? Thanks!
Hi puppy610! Many of the questions you could possible have can be found answered in the TASvideos Publication Manual. Please check there first.

Ok, i see about the cutscene skips. I don't know how to fix it at this point, without having to redo the entire TAS. I guess for now I'll have to take the cutscene skips as suboptimal.
Hi Josh; congratulations on your first completed run! It may be worth you looking at TAS Movie Editor; it may help you to splice together and alter some of your input. Unfortunately I'm not really qualified to help with usage, but I'm sure some people on the forums would be very happy to assist you. I intend to watch this run later today, so will not vote yet. Good luck!

Hey Fog, Love the encode, but I noticed that the stereo seems to be reversed; listen to the pipe here (preferably with headphones): http://youtu.be/ZukaLCL4b1c?t=7m57s Slso noticable in the fight with iggy in the same world as he moves about.

One issue with this is that, while our runs are certainly cool (especially when run on a console) they don't really play out any differently to what you can see on the site.
The point is to expose TASVideos and TASs to those not familiar with it. It's not intended to be interesting for our regulars.
Of course, I agree. But it seems a shame to cut runs short, a waste to show long-ish runs in their entirety, and a lot of setup time to run lots of little runs in succession. I think showing some of the cool runs like the quad runs is something that would be good to show. That and of course a happy balance of other super glitchy stuff / concepts like this year, and some of the most popular runs on the site.

I noticed there were a few 4-player races this year and I was wondering for next year how possible it would be to do something like [871] NES Mega Man 3, 4, 5 & 6 by Baxter & AngerFist in 39:06.92 or perhaps [2636] NES Super Mario Bros., 2, The Lost Levels & 3 by agwawaf in 08:49.78 over four consoles? turning all 4 machines on at once wouldn't be too hard if they were all set to power on and then just powered on at the plug via a power strip or something.

I am curious if a TAS of super mario brothers in super mario world would be possible, and would it be publishable? Anyway, congratulations on the excellent show!
From what I heard from a discussion with Nach (I'll be paraphrasing here) it is difficult to get a TAS to sync due to things not being deterministic; you would have to have a lot of hanging around to ensure it would sync consistently, which isn't very optimal. And even if that was incorrect info, there is still the copyright issue regarding the modified version of the SMB rom encoded in the movie file....

Interference; the controller cables were unshielded. http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/SuperMarioBros.html

It didn't all need to succeed. The concept of "Pokemon plays twitch" to a chat room full of twitch users watching was all that was needed. Even if it wasn't 100% successful, I want to congratulate all those involved in getting a standing ovation from the room :)

It depends. Do you want runs displayed there that have vote from 'that guy' that gave it 10? Doesn't exactly sound great for a page titled "Movies-Popular" if one guy says it's awesome :)
