Thank you for the welcome and information from everyone. It is nice to see lots of feedback from the community in making sure that things are done the proper way. As a newcomer I'm sure there's lots of things to learn and I am not afraid to take critique.
I understand the need for a 100% category, and agree that it is not done more often in the Road Rash speedrunning series. However with seeing a couple of single level TAS submissions I felt that I could attempt a submission at the least before completing an any% or 100% video.
I'm not really sure what a light Spike is or how the attached file looks different in the video in comparison, probably due to my inexperience.
As far as Level 5 with this bike there are two options. The cheat used will only set you on Level 1 and give you unlimited nitro. There is also a secondary in game code at the password screen that will give you the same bike but limited nitro, but also the option to send you to Level 5. Honestly with as much as I enjoyed creating this TAS I don't see why I will not do both options along side a full 100% completion without cheats, so in either case of whether this video is accepted or not there will be other options for submissions in the future.
I run this game from time to time and seeing this category ran so quickly is mind blowing. The cut through the barriers on New York is difficult in person but doable. Definitely worth obsoleting the previous USA% run. Yes from me.
I appreciate the feedback and will go ahead and submit it as is, and will gladly work on a full game play through if nothing comes to fruition out of it. Thanks!
After beating the last race of Level 5, you are greeted to the same screen as finishing every race, though you're told that you're a champion. However after exiting the race standings screen you are pushed to the menu. If you select to race again you will do one more race, and after completing that race the game will just crash.
I created my first TAS on Road Rash II, however before submitting and possibly being denied I have some questions.
There are 5 tracks and 5 levels. Each track is different but are extended in length after completing each level. Level 1 track 1 will look the same as Level 2 track 1 but has a race length 2-3 miles longer. Other than some extra curves and randomly placed obstacles, would these two points in the submission rules apply, or would it be expected to complete all 5 levels? My TAS only consists of finishing the entirety of Level 1
A second part to this is I am using a code to achieve a hidden bike (which is the fastest) in the game in order to perform unique jumps and finish races fast as possible at the same time. Would that apply as well to the second point as there is no more difficulty to increase?
Also, if I created the video before being told I should consider posting it on here and didn't enter a name as it suggest in the guidelines, am I going to be burned for it?
